Abstract

Indonesian with a very wide area that consists of thousands of ethnic groups, languages, religions, traditions and cultures also interact and mingle to form a multi-ethnic society. The migration of Arabs, China, and India to the Indonesian archipelago increased the diversity of the nation. Indonesian multiculturalism has the potential that can be developed to improve welfare. However, these conditions also potential to conflicts among ethnic groups, religious, and cultures. Horizontal conflicts that occurred in Sambas, Poso, Sampit, Tasikmalaya, and others show that multiculturalism needs to be managed so it gives positive impact on the progress and welfare of the community. In the Indonesian context, the awareness of multiculturalism needs to inculcated in the life of the nation and society. There are recognition and inter-ethnic tolerance that led to the establishment of cooperation and trust so as to create a peaceful and democratic life. As a multicultural country, Indonesia should have the awareness of multiculturalism that tribes who settle in the region establish interaction and communication between the healthy and dynamic society in order to create a democratic, harmonious, and peaceful community. Education is the starting point for reconstruction of multicultural culture in a democratic society. Through school teachers can instill pluralistic nature and practice into learners. Teachers need to be creative in bridging cultural plurality and a pluralistic and peaceful community. As the spearhead of multicultural education, teachers must have an adequate understanding of multiculturalism and multicultural education. In the teaching activities, teachers develop multiculture-oriented climate that highlights social justice and culture. Keywords: multiculturalism, multicultural education.

Abstract

Menstruasi adalah keluarnya darah dari rahim secara teratur setiap bulannya dan menjadi indikasi penanda organ kandungan wanita sudah berfungsi dengan baik. Menstruasi terkait dengan beberapa kesalahanpahaman tentang praktik kebersihan diri. Manajemen kebersihan menstruasi sangat penting untuk dijaga karena pada saat menstruasi sangat rentan terjadi gangguan saluran kemih, gangguan saluran reproduksi dan iritasi kulit terutama pada bagian genitalia. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini untuk memberikan edukasi terkait menstruasi dan manajemen kebersihan menstruasi (MKM). Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan di SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Samarinda khususnya di kelas VII dengan jumlah remaja putri sebanyak 23 orang. Metode penyuluhan menggunakan metode ceramah dan media penyuluhan menggunakan booklet dan video animasi, waktu pelaksanaan penyuluhan yaitu pada bulan November 2023. Berdasarkan hasil pretes dari sebelum dilakukan penyuluhan untuk tingkat pengetahuan tentang menstruasai dan manajemen kebersihan didapatkan score rata-rata 48,69 dan hasil setelah dilakukan penyuluhan (postest) didapatkan rata-rata score tingkat pengetahuan peserta meningkat menjadi 80.Kata Kunci: Edukasi, Penyuluhan, Menstruasi, MKMMenstruation is the discharge of blood from the uterus regularly every month and is an indication that a woman's uterine organs are functioning properly. Menstruation is linked to several misconceptions about personal hygiene practices. Menstrual hygiene management is very important to maintain because during menstruation it is very susceptible to urinary tract disorders, reproductive tract disorders and skin irritation, especially on the genitals. The aim of this service activity is to provide education regarding menstruation and menstrual hygiene management (MKM). Service activities were carried out at SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Samarinda, especially in class VII, with a total of 23 adolescent girl. The extension method uses the lecture method and the education media uses booklets and animated videos, the time for the extension is in November 2023. Based on the pretest results from before the counseling was carried out for the level of knowledge about menstruation and hygiene management, the average results were 48.6 and the results after the counseling were carried out (posttest) it was found that the level of participants' knowledge increased to 80.

Abstract

This research is the result of literature research as a technique used to study several references to books and the results of similar research previously conducted by others according to the problem being studied. This study uses a descriptive research method through a qualitative approach. This study aims to determine the improvement of students' mathematical communication skills by applying the STAD Type Cooperative learning model and analyze the causative factors. The data of this study was obtained from several journals and articles that revealed the improvement of students' mathematical communication skills with the application of the STAD Type Cooperative learning model. The researcher's findings show that from the indicators of mathematical communication and syntax of the STAD Type Cooperative learning model, each journal and article studied with the one written by the researcher has several similarities in indicators that explain that there is a suitability of the learning model to improve students' mathematical communication skills. For the results of each journal and article studied, it was stated that there was an increase in student learning outcomes from the students' mathematical communication skills. The STAD Type Cooperative learning model is also considered effective in improving students' mathematical communication skills. From all the articles and journals that were researched experienced an increase in grades and good learning achievement results, it can be concluded that the application of the STAD Type Cooperative learning model can improve students' mathematical communication skills.
