Abstract

Keterampilan berbicara ini dapat mengekspresikan, mengemukakan pendapat, menyampaikan perasaan, gagasan, dan menyatakan. Terampilan berbicara di depan umum akan menambahkan rasa percaya diri seseorang. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara dalam proses pembelajaran melalui dongeng pada siswa kelas 4 SD Negeri 20 Rantau Bayur. Berdasarkan observasi, satu siklus pertemuan didapatkan bahwa kurangnya minat baca bagi para siswa, selain itu kurangnya perlengkapan buku-buku yang menunjang kegiatan belajar mengajar. Oleh karena itu, melalui pengabdian ini, Tim melatih keterampilan mendongeng untuk para siswa tersebut

Abstract

This study examines the importance of taboo meaning in the Bugis community in Tanah Pilih Village, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra. The purpose of this study is to describe the importance of the meaning of taboo associations in the Bugis community of Tanah Pilih Village, Banyuasin Regency. The method used in this study is a qualitative method, ethnographic approach. Data was collected from six informants. Data collection techniques used include interviews, observation, recording, and documentation. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The subjects of this study were individuals who had a deep understanding of taboos in the village of Tanah Pilih. The results of the study revealed fifteen taboo association meanings. Of the six informants, five members of the spark plug community still believed in and adhered to the taboos, while one informant did not believe in the taboos. Taboos are meant to be associated with the goal of educating children, ensuring that their behavior and attitudes remain appropriate, and promoting the ethical values ​​of respect and decency. Tabu is the first choice of Bugis parents to proactively combat the negative effects of globalization on their children.

Abstract

Sekolah merupakan tempat belajar siswa dan siswi.. dalam pengelolaan sekolah, tentu saja tidak terlepas dari arsip atau dokumen sekolah. Dokumen ini sangat penting di dalam pengelolaan sekolah, dimulai dari dokumen siswa atau siswi sampai dengan dokumen pengelolaan sekolah. Sejauh ini dokumen sekolah belum tersimpan secara digital. Oleh karena itu mengingat perkembangan teknologi yang semakin pesat, dokumen sekolah perlu dilakukan penyimpanan secara digital, sehingga dapat meminimalkan penyimpanan manual yang membutuhkan tempat yang besar. Pengabdian kali ini merupakan kegiatan untuk membatu pihak sekolah di dalam mendokumentasikan dokumen secara digital. Berdasarkan wawancara, banyak dokumen yang belum dilakukan secara digital, sehingga diperlukan pengetahuan di dalam melakukan penyimpanan secara digital. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan pihak sekolah di dalam melakukan digitalisasi dan sertifikasi dokumen sekolah.

Abstract

The development of the world of education requires that teachers and school administration staff are skilled at writing well and correctly. Correspondence writing is part of a series of writing activities and cannot be separated from a series of activities at school. To write and reply to incoming letters of course requires the competence of a school administration staff. In order to be professional, of course school administration staff must understand how to write letters well and correctly. This of course requires training in how to write good and correct correspondence, both in terms of effective sentence writing and good letter language. The theme of this training is how to write good and correct correspondence. This activity is expected to improve the understanding and skills of school officials, in this case administrative staff, in writing correspondence at school.

Abstract

This article discusses and examines the use of figurative language and the meaning contained in the lyrics of the songs entitled 'Runtuh' and 'Usik' by Feby Putri. Feby Putri's songs are often considered a reflection of reality or facts, addressing problems commonly faced by teenagers and adults. Therefore, these things can be motivation and learning tools for the millennial generation to better understand and overcome the various challenges they face. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Based on observations, the song 'Runtuh' by Feby contains 4 comparative figurative meanings, while the song 'Usik' uses 3 comparative figurative meanings and 1 example of metaphorical language. These songs are created poetically with meaningful symbolism. The song 'Runtuh' reminds us not to deceive ourselves and to remain honest with our feelings even though it is difficult. This describes the feelings of someone who always looks happy but actually has a hurt heart. On the other hand, the song 'Usik' conveys the message not to give up and continue to struggle to overcome challenges, to emerge as an individual who is stronger, more resilient, and believes in God's presence.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has various tribes, ethnicities, languages, religions, and customs. Each country certainly has uniqueness and local wisdom. With local wisdom, it means that a country has an identity. Indonesia consists of thirty-seven provinces that have local wisdom, such as folklores. One of them is South Sumatra Province, precisely in Pagar Alam City. Local wisdom in folklores certainly has a significant influence on character education, which seeks to instill values. This research focuses on the folklores of the three founding gods of Jagat Besemah, Pagar Alam City, South Sumatra Province. This research uses a qualitative method with interview, observation, and document techniques. The findings indicate four aspects of strengthening character education include (1) honest attitude, (2) positive thinking, (3) religion, and (4) interacting politely. Implications and future research are also discussed.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the types and functions of speech acts in BIPA (Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers) teaching materials which can have implications for language learning for foreign speakers. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The source of this research data is dialogue in Practical BIPA teaching materials by the Ministry of Education and Culture.Data collection techniques using document techniques. Data analysis techniques in this study used the Spradley model analysis techniques, through 4 stages, namely, domain analysis, taxonomy, componential, and cultural theme analysis. The findings in this study indicate that there are 5 types of illocutionary speech acts, namely assertive, directive, commissive, expressive, and declarative. These findings can have implications for language learning for foreign speakers, especially BIPA learning. Understanding illocutionary speech acts can help foreign speakers to develop communicative abilities of foreign speakers. Insight into knowledge of illocutionary speech acts can help foreign speakers understand cultural norms related to the use of the target language. Speech act studies can also improve the ability to understand and use language in appropriate social contexts. Insight into illocutionary speech acts also helps foreign speakers to be more careful of errors or misunderstandings in communication. Can be used as material for foreign speakers in negotiating, convincing, and influencing others when communicating.

Abstract

The Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka Program, also known as MBKM, is an activity that provides students with the opportunity to learn outside the classroom, one of which is teaching assistance. This paper aims to describe the activities conducted by students of Universitas Bina Darma Palembang in community service by implementing learning through the viewing technique in the Indonesian language subject for 11th grade students in the Merdeka curriculum. Through learning with the viewing technique, it is expected that students will be able to answer, summarize, and understand the intrinsic and extrinsic elements of the short story Tukang Cukur by Budi Darma. This Community Service (PkM) activity was conducted in the form of learning, counseling, and training. The PkM activity took place at SMA Arinda Palembang with 20 students. The method used in this activity was qualitative descriptive with data collection techniques of observation, note-taking, and documentation. After conducting learning on the short story Tukang Cukur by Budi Darma with the viewing technique in the 11th grade IPA class at SMA Arinda Palembang, positive results were observed. The majority of students were able to understand the content of the story, answer questions correctly, and improve their critical thinking skills, as well as their appreciation for literary works.

Abstract

This service activity is carried out by lecturers and students of the Indonesian Language Education study program with the aim of increasing interest in reading and students having the ability to construct a short story based on building elements, structure and rules. Creative expressions of short stories produced by class XI Multimedia students at Arinda Vocational School Palembang shows significant potential as a medium for increasing literacy. Through short story writing activities, students are not only able to develop writing skills, but also improve critical thinking skills, imagination, and appreciation of various forms of literary works. This method encourages students to more actively explore ideas and create work that is relevant to their experiences and interests. Thus, the use of short stories as a literacy learning medium has a positive impact on improving students’ overall literacy skills. The service method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. After carrying out service, students are expected to have high creativity because they can present interesting stories based on their experience and imagination and are able to include intrinsic and extrinsic elements in the stories they create.

Abstract

Community service activities (PkM) held by the Indonesian Education Study Program, Bina Darma University aim to increase the confidence of grade XI students of SMK Arinda Palembang through speech training. Speech is a public speaking skill that is very important in education and career. In this program, students are given a basic understanding of speech, then practice composing and delivering it, and are evaluated to measure the development of their abilities. As a result, students showed an improvement in confidence and communication skills after participating in this training. It is hoped that this activity can prepare students to face challenges in the world of work that require good presentation skills.
