Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan pengendalian hama menggunakan perangkap warna berperekat terhadap tanaman kedelai varietas wilis Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus 2017 sampai dengan bulan Oktober 2017. Bertempat di Desa Ampel Krajan Kecamatan Wuluhan Kabupaten Jember. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Non Faktorial yaitu pemberian perekat berwarna yang terdiri dari 5 level yang diulang sebanyak 6 kali yaitu warna kuning, warna hijau, warna putih, warna merah, dan warna biru. Pengamatan dilakukan terhadap parameter macam-macam serangga, jumlah hama dan intensitas serangan hama. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Pemanfaatan beberapa perangkap pada tanaman kedelai varietas Willis memberikan pengaruh nyata (significant) terhadap parameter jumlah hama yang terperangkap. Perangkap warna kuning merupakan perangkap warna yang efektif karena hama lebih tertarik pada warna kuning.

Abstract

The objective of the research concerning the application of Marigold flower and Pintoi peanuts of the natural enemies on Rice plant is to find out the role of refugia. This research was conducted at Antirogo Village, Sumbersari Sub-District, Jember Regency for 5 months. The research started in November 2017 to March 2018. This research was  conducted by using three squares of research area, sized 50 m2. The Treatment were, the first square employed marigold flower as the refugia. The second square used pintoi peanut as the refugia, while the third square was left without any refugia. The data of this research was analyzed statistically by using the t test. The result of this research revealed that through the utilization of marigold flower and pintoi peanut towards the natural enemies of the rice plant, it was founded out that the highest population of the vegetative phase seen on the square where the rice plant is given the pintoi peanut refugia, numbering 92. Meanwhile, the square which utilizes marigold flower showsed the number 50 unit as opposed to the finding which demonstrates that the square of rice plant without refugia showsed the number of natural enemies of 39 unit. The application of marigold flower and pintoi peanuts as the refugia playeds siginificant effect to the population of the natural enemies, respectively.

Abstract

Purpose — The objective of this research is to assess the tourism potential of Plalangan Village for developing it as a tourism destination, specifically focusing on sustainable agro-edutourism.Method — This study utilized a qualitative approach with qualitative descriptive methods. Data collection involved the use of observation, focus group discussions (FGDs), and in-depth interviews with key figures. Additionally, literature studies conducted online and literature reviews were undertaken. Visual evidence in the form of documentation was employed to enhance the credibility of the research findings.Result — The research results indicate that Plalangan Village possesses tourism potential, with various attractions such as natural sites like Plalangan Hill and the Twin Dams, cultural sites like Can Macanan Kadduk, and man-made attractions like fish farming and the cracker industry. Additionally, the village has potential areas for a people's market and open green spaces. In light of this potential, a tourism map of Plalangan Village has been created, showcasing the various attractions, as well as the suggested flow of tourist visits, one-day tour packages, and a visualization of the appealing camping grounds on Plalangan Hill. These findings strongly suggest that Plalangan Village has the potential to be developed as a tourism village, with a sustainable agro-edutourism concept.Novelty — This study focused on specific regional agro-edutourism potentials and their development strategies, aiming to enhance local welfare and community prosperity through tailored approaches.

Abstract

Rice is a staple food for most of the Indonesia's population, so various efforts to be made to maintain continuity of production. Jember Regency is one of the rice production centers in East Java Province with production numbers continuing to decline over the last few years. One of the reasons for this decline in rice production is the increase in planthopper pest attacks due to climate change. The Jaya Abadi farmer group is one of the farmer groups in the rice production center area which always cultivates rice commodities every year. Based on problem identification and discussions with partners, it is known that planthopper pest attacks are the main threat in rice cultivation, because they can cause puso or crop failure. Seeing these conditions, community service activities that will be carried out include socialization and training in making liquid smoke pesticides as an alternative for controlling planthopper pest attacks. The production of liquid smoke is carried out by utilizing agricultural waste, which is often found in the partners' surrounding environment. This agricultural waste will be processed into liquid smoke using simple pyrolysis technology. Liquid smoke contains several compounds that can be used as a pesticide to exterminate plant pests. Based on the activity evaluation, it is known that socializatio and training activities can increase farmers' knowledge and skills in controlling planthopper pests by using liquid smoke pesticides. Apart from being cheap and easy to make, using liquid smoke pesticides can also reduce costs and safe for the environment.

Abstract

T. molitor merupakan hama gudang yang dapat merusak secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Pengendalian kini mengarah kepada pengendalian hama yang ramah lingkungan. Pestisida nabati adalah pestisida ramah lingkungan yang bahan aktifnya berasal dari tumbuh-tumbuhan dan berkhasiat mengendalikan serangan hama pada tanaman. Tanaman toga kini banyak diteliti perannya sebagai pestida nabati terhadap serangga hama. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menguji efektifitas beberapa tanaman toga untuk mengendalikan larva T. molitor . Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Perlindungan Tanaman Politeknik Negeri Jember pada November 2022. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) 6 perlakuan dengan 3 ulangan, setiap satuan percobaan terdapat 10 ekor larva sehingga terdapat 180 sampel larva T. molitor . Adapun perlakuan tersebut antara lain, kontrol, ekstrak daun nimba, ekstrak daun sirsak, ekstrak bawang putih, ekstrak sereh, dan kontrol pestisida insektisida berbahan aktif dimetoat 400 g/l. Pemberian ekstrak tanaman toga memiliki pengaruh terhadap mortalitas larva T. molitor pada 24 jam. Perlakuan ekstrak serai dan bawang putih memberikan nilai efektivitas mortalitas larva T. molitor 90 – 100%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk Mengisolasi dan Mendapatkan Isolat Cendawan Mikoriza Arbuskular Pada Tiga Pusat Lokasi Tanaman Jagung Di Kabupaten Jember. Penelitian dilakukan selama 6 bulan dari bulan Agustus 2018 sampai dengan bulan Januari 2019. Kegiatan Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Mikrobiologi Universitas Jember dan Laboratorium Jurusan Hama Penyakit Univeristas Brawijaya Malang. Penelitian ini menggunakan 3 lokasi dan 3 kedalaman untuk pengambilan sampel yaitu Kecamatan Arjasa, Kecamatan Bangsalsari, dan Kecamatan Kencong dengan kedalaman 10 cm, 20 cm dan 30 cm dari permukaan tanah. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif dengan mengidentifikasi jenis Cendawan Mikoriza Arbuskular yang sudah di isolasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa Cendawan Mikoriza Arbuskular dari rhizosfer tanaman jagung dapat di identifikasi sebagai jenis Cendawan Mikoriza dari genus Glomus sp dan Acaulospora delicata yang memiliki karakteristik warna coklat dan memiliki bentuk bulan sampai dengan lonjong. Genus Glomus sp memiliki tingkat adaptasi yang lebih dominan di Kecamatan Arjasa pada kedalaman tanah 10 cm dengan jumlah spora 75. Genus Acaulospora delicata memiliki adaptasi lebih dominan di Kecamatan Arjasa pada Kedalaman 20 cm dengan jumlah spora 111.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas bekatul padi yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai media alternatif perbanyakan cendawan M. anisopliae sebagai bioinsektisida bagi ulat tentara. Percobaan dilakukan pada bulan Juni hingga Desember 2022 di Laboratorium Perlindungan Tanaman Politeknik Negeri Jember. Percobaan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) faktorial dengan faktor pertama yakni jenis media alternatif yang terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu beras jagung (M1), beras jagung + bekatul padi halus (M2), dan beras jagung + bekatul padi kasar (M3). Sedangkan faktor kedua yakni konsentrasi larutan cendawan M. anisopliae dengan 5 taraf yaitu 5 mL/L (J1), 10 mL/L (J2), 15 mL/L (J3), 20 mL/L (J4), dan 25 mL/L (J5). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media alternatif beras jagung dan bekatul padi kasar memberikan hasil terbaik pada kerapatan spora cendawan M. anisopliae yang diberikan konsentrasi larutan sebanyak 25 mL/L dengan kerapatan spora sebesar 23,69 x 109 spora/mL, memiliki tingkat viabilitas tertinggi sebesar 61,67%, dan memiliki tingkat toksisitas berdasarkan LC50 dan LC95 yang masing-masing sebesar 11% dan 29% sebagai bioinsektisida terhadap hama S. frugiperda. Tingginya kerapatan spora pada media campuran ini karena tingginya nutrisi sehingga pertumbuhan cendawan menjadi lebih optimal.

Abstract

Fusarium sp. is a pathogenic fungus that attacks the vascular tissue and causes decay in the host plant. Biological control by utilizing microbes that are antagonistic to the fungus Fusarium sp. One of the antagonistic fungi that can be used is Trichoderma harzianum. This study aims to determine the effect of biofungicide Trichoderma harzianum and chemical pesticide (active ingredient mankozeb) against Fusarium wilt disease. This research was conducted from October to December 2023 at the Plant Protection Laboratory of Jember State Polytechnic and Cultivation Field, Antirogo District, Jember Regency. The research activities were carried out in two stages, the first in the laboratory and the second in the field by comparing the biofungicide treatment of Trichoderma harzianum and chemical pesticides (active ingredient mankozeb). Research activities in the laboratory are by conducting inhibition tests. The results showed that the Trichoderma harzianum biofungicide treatment gave an antagonistic effect against the fungus Fusarium sp. On the intensity of attack, the Trichoderma harzianum biofungicide treatment gave an effect that was not significantly different from the chemical pesticide (active ingredient mankozeb) at 28 HST, 34 HST, and gave a significantly different effect at 40 HST. In the yield parameter, the wet weight of the cob gave a significantly different effect compared to mankozeb at 142.98 grams

Abstract

Plalangan Village in Kalisat District is one of the agricultural villages with food crop centers targeted by The Jember Regency Government to become a tourism pilot area. Plalangan Village has natural resource potential that can be used as a tourism product, including expanses of agricultural land for food crops with semi-organic and intercropping cultivation systems, fisheries nurseries and cultivation, and a beautiful mountainous natural environment. Even though the tourism potential is very large, it has not been developed optimally by the community. So far, Pokdarwis Selayang Pandang still has a minimal role in developing tourism in Plalangan Village. This is because the human resource capacity is still low in managing tourist villages. Another problem is that there have been no promotional activities for tourist villages. The aim of this community service activity is to increase Pokdarwis' awareness of tourism potential and increase their ability to promote tourism villages. From this activities, it is hoped that there will be an increase in tourism awareness and motivation, an increase in the ability of human resources in managing village tourism potential, and the existence of promotional media for tourism villages. Abstract

Padi masih menjadi komoditas pangan pokok yang dibudidayakan oleh petani di Desa Sukodgiri, Kecamatan Ledokombo, Kabupaten Jember. Selama tiga tahun terakhir produksi padi di Desa Sukodgiri terus mengalami penurunan akibat serangan virus kerdil pada padi. Virus ini menyebabkan tanaman padi tumbuh kerdil, daun berwarna kuning, dan akhirnya tanaman padi tidak dapat menghasilkan. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, tim pelaksana kegiatan pengabdian memberikan sosialisasi terkait pemanfaatan agensia hayati Trichoderma sp., pelatihan perbanyakan agensia hayati, serta aplikasinya di lahan budidaya padi. Trichoderma sp. digunakan sebagai agen pengendali hayati agar tanaman lebih tahan terhadap serangan penyakit. Pemanfaatan agensia hayati ini diharapkan mampu menekan serangan virus kerdil yang pada akhirnya dapat meningkatkan produksi padi. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan yang telah dilakukan dapat diketahui bahwa kegiatan sosialisasi dan pelatihan yang diberikan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan petani dalam menggunakan agensia hayati Trichoderma sp. di lahan budidaya padi
