Abstract

This study examines the impact of mobile gaming on Islamic Religious Education (Indonesian: PAI) learning outcomes using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Conducted at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 1 Tulungagung, the research utilized surveys and documentation for data collection. Analysis, carried out with JASP software, began with Explanatory Factor Analysis (EFA) to uncover data structures, followed by Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) to validate these structures. The findings indicate that excessive mobile gaming negatively affects PAI learning outcomes, whereas positive perceptions of gaming are associated with improved academic performance. The SEM analysis reveals intricate relationships among gaming activity, student perceptions, and learning outcomes, suggesting that while gaming can boost engagement, it may also hinder academic focus if not managed appropriately. The study further explores how motivation and engagement with specific game genres—such as MOBA, Battle Royale, and RPG—might differentially influence PAI learning outcomes. However, the current SEM analysis does not directly address these genre-specific effects, highlighting the need for additional research. In conclusion, the study emphasizes the necessity of balanced integration of mobile gaming in educational contexts and provides practical recommendations for educators and policymakers to navigate these challenges effectively.

Abstract

This research analyses the political ramifications of Islamophobia in Indonesia, particularly how the apprehension linked to radical Islamic ideologies shapes the responses of government and political entities. Utilising a qualitative library research approach, this paper scrutinises an array of academic books, peer-reviewed journals, and scholarly articles to explore the interplay between religious anxieties and political measures. The findings indicate that the government's approach to combating perceived threats from Islamic movements involves strict enforcement of Pancasila, alleviation of fears regarding the replacement of national ideology by a caliphate, and promotion of religious moderation to deter extremism. The study highlights the politicisation of radicalism and Islamophobia, revealing the strategic use of these concerns to influence public policy and political discourse in Indonesia.

Abstract

This article analyzes the moderate Salafi movement in Kediri through a case study of Jemaah Hijrah at Imam Muslim Islamic Boarding School. This research aims to reveal the characteristics, approaches, and development of religious understanding carried out by Jemaah Hijrah in the context of the moderate Salafi movement in Indonesia. The research method used is a qualitative approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with Jemaah Hijrah congregation and Imam Muslim Islamic Boarding School administrators, participatory observation during religious activities, and document analysis related to the views and principles adopted by Jemaah Hijrah. The results showed that the Jemaah Hijrah there adheres to a moderate Salafi approach, emphasizing being inclusive and tolerant of variations in interpretations of Islam. They seek to maintain core Salafi values while remaining open to dissent on religious issues. The movement's sustainability depends on an educational approach that provides space for discussion and dialogue rather than a rigid emphasis on a single interpretation and avoids actions that breed blind fanaticism, where blind fanaticism is the root of all hostility and division. This research provides insights into how the moderate Salafi movement can thrive in local settings and how this inclusive approach balances religious conservatism and acceptance of difference. The findings contribute to the understanding of the broader community that the development of the Salafi movement in Indonesia is not monolithic but varies and adapts according to local situations and the demands of the times.

Abstract

This article aims to present the expressions of the Qur'an and the thoughts of Karl Marx on the issue of social class conflict. In contexts where human differences can become sources of conflict and contention, often leading to mutual degradation and destruction, this study is crucial. This research employs the "expressive approach" and the "hermeneutic approach" to analyze the expressions of the Qur'an and Marx's thoughts on social class conflict. The findings indicate that the Qur'an addresses this issue within a religious context as guidance for humanity, acknowledging social disparities and affirming individual ownership rights without denying the existence of social class conflict. The Qur'an uses this conflict as an opportunity to return to tolerance, balance, and justice without rejecting or abolishing any social class. Conversely, Karl Marx discusses this theme in a political and economic context, recognizing social class disparities and striving to eliminate them to overcome the injustices perpetrated by the wealthy against the weak. He proposes communist ideology as a solution to create a classless social system, where thought, governance, and wealth are distributed equally, with political power that he considers ideal.
