Abstract

This plant has been used as medicine by the people for the treatment of leg swelling, skin diseases and inflammation or irritation of the eyes. Inflammation measurements using calipers. Animals were divided into 6 groups. Statistical analysis showed no significant difference between the percentage anti-inflammatory  a group beta-beta wood extract and positive control group. The results showed that beta-beta wood can be developed as an anti-inflammatory drug. Keywords: Anti-inflammatory, Beta-beta wood (Lunasia amara) ABSTRAK Kayu beta-beta (Lunasia amara) merupakan salah satu tanaman obat tradisional yang mempunyai potensi sebagai antiinflamasi. Tanaman ini telah digunakan sebagai obat  oleh masyarakat untuk pengobatan kaki bengkak, penyakit kulit dan radang atau iritasi mata. Pada penelitian ini telah dilakukan kajian efek anti radang kayu beta-beta dengan menggunakan jangka sorong sebagai alat pengukuran radang yang terjadi setelah dilakukan induksi terhadap hewan coba dalam hal ini mencit Balb/C. Hewan coba dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok dengan menggunakan Natrium diklofenak sebagai kontrol positif anti radang. Hasil analisis statistik memperlihatkan ada perbedaan rata-rata persentase daya antiinflamasi antara kelompok senyawa uji dan kelompok kontrol positif. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa senyawa uji ekstrak etanol kayu beta-beta (Lunasia amara) mempunyai  efek anti radang berdasarkan pengukuran kemampuan senyawa dari tanaman untuk menurunkan bengkak melalui pengukuran tebal kaki  yang dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol positif Natrium diklofenak. Hasil penelitian ini membuka harapan baru untuk dapat dilakukan pengujian lebih lanjut terhadap efek anti radang  kayu beta-beta. Kata Kunci : Anti radang, kayu beta-beta (Lunasia amara)

Abstract

Mother's Milk is the ideal food for the growth and development of babies. in Indonesia the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding is still far from the national target of 80%, health education activities for pregnant women related to knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding, the benefits of breastfeeding for babies and mothers, nutritional and psychological preparation and practicing proper breastfeeding being solution The right way to prepare yourself from the start so that pregnant women can provide exclusive breastfeeding, his community service is carried out at the Bara-Baraya Community Health Center, Makassar City. The service method is interactive participation accompanied by lectures, questions and answers, discussions, and roleplay. As a result of this service, we get enthusiastic pregnant mothers who actively ask questions, so they are committed to providing exclusive breast milk to their babies, thus this health education is an effective effort to increase knowledge among pregnant women. It is recommended that health workers can carry out health education on an ongoing basis considering that there are still pregnant women who have insufficient knowledge about the importance of preparing for exclusive breastfeeding.

Abstract

Penelitian ekstrak etanol buah pinang (Areca catechu L.) telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui nilai IC50 antioksidan optimal buah pinang (A. catechu L.) menggunakan metode DPPH. Sampel buah pinang (A. catechu L.) diekstraksi dengan etanol 96% menggunakan metode ekstraksi maserasi. Ekstrak diuapkan untuk mendapatkan ekstrak etanol kental menggunakan rotary evaporator. Skrining fitokimia dilakukan untuk mengetahui kandungan metabolit sekunder. Hasil skrining menunjukkan adanya senyawa flavonoid dan alkaloid dalam ekstrak etanol buah pinang. Pengujian aktivitas antioksidan dilakukan dengan menggunakan DPPH dan menggunakan quercetin sebagai senyawa standar. Nilai IC50 ekstrak etanol diketahui sebesar 69,979 µg/mL. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya potensi ekstrak etanol buah pinang sebagai antioksidan kuat. Kata Kunci: 2,2-Diphenyl-1-Picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), Flavanoid, Nilai IC50, Maserasi, Kuersetin The purpose of this study was to determine the optimal antioxidant IC50 value of Areca catechu L. using the DPPH method. Areca fruit extract (Areca catechu L.) with 96% ethanol using maceration procedure. The extract was evaporated using a rotary evaporator to obtain concentrated ethanol extract, after which a phytochemical screening was carried out to determine the content of secondary metabolites. Screening results showed that flavonoids and alkaloids were found in the ethanol extract of areca nut coconut shells. In addition, antioxidant activity was also tested with DPPH and uses quercetin as a standard. The IC50 of 96% ethanol extract is 69,979 µg/mL. In this review, IC50 results were obtained which showed the potential of A.catechu  ethanol extract as a strong antioxidant

Abstract

Gude Leaves (Cajanus cajan) are a traditional medicinal plant for treating diarrhea. The ingredients contained in Gude leaves are flavonoids, such as kajanol, quarcetin and luteolin and also contain other secondary metabolites, tannins, saponins, alkaloids, terpenoids and phenols. Scientifically, Gude leaves have antimalarial, antidiabetic, anthelmintic, antioxidant, antibacterial and anticancer activity. This research aims to determine the toxicity of gude leaves (C. cajan) using the Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method. This research began by carrying out two extraction methods, namely maceration and UAE (Ultrasonic Assisted Extraction) on samples of gude leaves using 70% ethanol solvent. Then a phytochemical screening was carried out which showed that samples of gude leaves contained alkaloids, flavonoids, steroids, saponins and tannins. Experimentation the toxicity of gude leaf extract using maceration and UAE methods on Artemia Salina Leach larvae, each divided into 5 test groups, namely 4 treatment groups (concentrations of (250 ppm,  LC=23,33% & 33,33%) ; (500 ppm, LC= 56,67% & 60%); (750 ppm, LC= 70% & 73%); and (1000 ppm, LC= 80%) and 1 positive control group (sea water ). The research results can be seen through probit analysis by calculating the LC50 value. The LC50 value of gude leaf extract using the maceration method was 242.52 and the result of gude leaf extract using the UAE method was 394.16 (Toxic).  This research provides information regarding the toxic effects of gude leaf extract.

Abstract

The aim of the research was to identify Piroxicam in herbal medicine for rheumatic pain circulating in Makassar. There are several traditional medicines that contain medicinal chemicals. Research has been conducted on the identification of medicinal chemicals (BKO) on several rheumatic herbs preparations in herbs shops in Makassar. The BKO which is often included in rheumatic herbs is the NSAID group, one of which is piroxicam. This inspection was conducted to know the presence of the chemical drug piroxicam contained within rheumatic herbs preparations and the samples used were 5 samples. The method used was a qualitative test using thin layer chromatography (TLC) consisting of a mobile phase mixed with n-hexane and acetone (7:3) and a stationary phase using Silica Gel GF254. The results of the TLC examination from 5 samples of herbal medicine added BKO piroxicam contained 3 samples including herbs A, B, and C because they had the same stain color at the same Rf value as the piroxicam. Some of the rheumatic herbs circulating in Makassar contain medicinal chemicals in the form of piroxicam.

Abstract

Data from the World Health Organization (WHO) shows that around 10% of pregnant women and 13% of new mothers experience mental disorders, especially depression. In developing countries this figure is even higher, at 15.6% during pregnancy and 19.8% after childbirth. To prevent similar cases, it is necessary to prepare for pregnancy which can be done during the preconception period, namely the treatment period before pregnancy occurs with a time span of three months to one year before conception. Therefore, Education on Psychological Preparation of Women of Fertile Age for Preconception Preparation at the Bara-Barayya Health Center through community service activities is considered necessary with the aim of changing the views of women of childbearing age and families related to psychological health and behavior that can affect it as an effort to prepare for preconception. The method used was lecture and question and answer. The participants who attended the counseling consisted of 23 people where the post-test evaluation showed the participants' better understanding of efforts to maintain mental health can help mothers prepare for pregnancy in the preconception period. Conclusion: counseling participants, namely women of childbearing age, understand the importance of psychological preparation during the preconception period

Abstract

Persalinan dan kelahiran adalah proses fisiologis normal yang terjadi pada kehamilan cukup bulan (37-42 minggu).  Birth Ball atau bola lahir adalah metode di mana ibu duduk di atas bola selama persalinan yang dapat membantu mengurangi rasa nyeri. Metode ini mendukung tenaga ibu dan membantu posisi janin dalam kondisi optimal sehingga memudahkan proses kelahiran. Untuk menelaah hubungan terapi birth ball dengan kemajuan persalinan dan pengurangan nyeri melalui tinjauan literatur. Tinjauan ini memakai beberapa sumber meliputi studi pencarian sistematis database terkomputerisasi (Elicit, Google Shcolar, Science, Pubmed, dan Taylor & Francis) yang diambil dalam waktu 9 tahun terakhir dari tahun 2016-2024. Artikel yang diperoleh dalam melakukan pencarian yaitu 60 artikel, 49 artikel nasional dan 11 artikel internasional yang di ekstraksi sebanyak 15 artikel.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terapi birth ball memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap kemajuan persalinan dan pengurangan nyeri. Penggunaan birth ball dapat mempercepat dilatasi serviks dan mengurangi intensitas nyeri selama fase aktif persalinan sekitar 60% subjek mengalami kemajuan persalinan yang signifikan dengan 96% ibu melaporkan penurunan nyeri. Penelitian ini menegaskan hubungan birth ball sebagai metode non-farmakologis yang bermanfaat bagi ibu bersalin.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) type 2 is a chronic disease characterized by increased glucose levels in the body due to insulin resistance or inadequate insulin production. This study aims to determine the antidiabetic potential of keji beling ( Strobhilantes crispa) leaf extract. This research is different from other studies which used Alloxan as a diabetes inducer. In this study, Streptozotocin was used as a DM inducer. After treatment, information was obtained that keji beling (S. crispa) extract could reduce blood glucose levels in type 2 DM rats. Experimental research used 30 male Wistar rats divided into six groups consisting of normal group, negative control (HFD and Streptozotocin), positive control (Glibenclamide), dose group I (150 mg/kg BW), dose II (300 mg/ kg BW), and dose III (450 mg/kg BW). Based on the research results, it is known that S.crispa leaf extract can reduce blood glucose levels in mice induced by Streptozotocin and has the potential to act as an antihyperglycemic in type 2 DM.

Abstract

Free radicals can be formed through normal cell metabolism events, malnutrition and as a result of responses to external influences such as pollution and ultraviolet rays. Free radicals can cause premature aging, therefore antioxidants are needed to prevent premature aging. Avocado folium (Persea americana M.) contain secondary metabolite compounds, namely alkaloids, saponins, tannins, glycosides and flavonoids in the form of quercetin, where flavonoid compounds can act as antioxidants. This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity of avocado leaf extract (P. americana M), using the (2,2-dihphenyl-1-picrylhdrazil) (DPPH)  method. The sample used in this research was avocado folium obtained from Southeast Maluku, Maluku Province). DPPH method with a UV-Vis spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 514 nm. The antioxidant activity of ethanol extract of avocado folium in this test is 112.410 µg / mL. The results of this study show that avocado folium extract has moderate antioxidant activity.

Abstract

Sektor usaha merupakan salah satu sektor yang memiliki peran penting dalam perekonomian masyarakat Kota Parepare. Salah satu sektor usaha yang berkembang pesat di Kota Parepare adalah sektor kuliner termasuk Kedai ‘Aisyiyah. Produk atau jualan Kedai ‘Aisyiayah tidak memiliki keunggulan dan keunikan tertentu. Oleh karena itu, perlu inovasi dalam pembuatan mie dengan panambahan bahan yang memiliki kandungan gizi yang tinggi seperti daun kelor dan belut. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilaksanaan di Laboratorium Gizi Universitas Muhammadiyah Parepare dengan melibatkan pengelola dan karyawan Kedai ‘Aisyiyah pada tanggal 22 Agustus 2024. Pelaksanaan program kegiatan dilakukan melalui 3 (lima) tahapan seperti sosialisasi kegiatan, pelatihan pembuatan mie, dan penerapan teknologi. Materi sosialisasi meliputi kelebihan mie, kandungan daun kelor dan belut dengan menggunakan flipchart, powerpoint dan buku. Meteri pembuatan mie daun kelor dan belut disampaikan oleh anggota tim pelaksana  meliputi bahan, alat dan cara pembuatan mie daun kelor dan belut. Selain materi, juga dilakukan praktek langsung pembuatan mie daun kelor dan belut. Hasil kegiatan dan kesimpulan dari pelaksanaan kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini, yaitu 1). Edukasi nilai gizi mie daun kelor dan belut dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan pengelola usaha Kedai ‘Aisyiyah sebesar 77% yang tergambar dari hasil Pre Test dan Post Test. 2).Kegiatan pelatihan pembuatan mie daun kelor dan belut meningkatkan kemampuan pengelola dan karyawan usaha Kedai ‘Aisyiyah dalam membuat mie daun kelor dan belut
