Abstract

Scientific publication is one of teacher’s duty to increase their rank, form III/b to III/c. Base on interview with Senior High School teachers at Pesisir Selatan regency, we know that difficult for them to produce scientific publication caused by their ability on choosing data analysis technique which relevant to their case, teachers cannot use the statistical software because its not familiar for them, and they have low quality in interpreting data analysis result. To solve the problems, we offer a workshop of data analysis on scientific writing using statistical software. The target audiences of this workshop is a Group of Teachers on Mathematics Major (MGMP) in Pesisir Selatan. In this workshop, participants are given the basic concept and how to write a scientific writing, basic concept of statistics, and introduction to statistical software i.e. Minitab and SPSS. Beside that, with practical work, the participants learn how to use statistical software and interpretate the data analysis result. Result of the workshops are (1) increasing the ability of participants skills on analysis the data using statistical software and interpretate it.

Abstract

The proportional odds model (POM) and the non-proportional odds model (NPOM) are very useful in ordinal modeling. However, the proportional odds assumption is often violated in practice. In this paper, the non-proportional odds model is chosen as an alternative model when the proportional odds assumption is not violated. This paper aims to compare Proportional Odds Model (POM) and Non-Proportional Odds Model (NPOM) in cases of birth size in Indonesia based on the 2017 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (IDHS) data. The results showed that in the POM there was a violation of the proportional odds assumption, so the alternative NPOM model was used. NPOM had better use than POM. The goodness of fit shows that the deviance test failed to reject H0, and the value of Mac Fadden R2 is higher than POM. The risk factors that have a significant influence on all categories of birth size are the residence and gender of the child.

Abstract

The profile of students’ mental model was very needed to know student successes and difficulties in describing macroscopic, submicroscopic, symbolic representation as the characteristics of chemistry. This research aimed at analyzing the profile of students’ mental model of experimental and control groups, and knowing the effect of Macromedia Flash based learning media toward students’ mental model at the tenth grade of MIA.  This research was conducted in the Academic Year of 2019/2020 at State Senior High School 1 Pekanbaru on Molecular Shapes lesson. It was Mixed Method Research integrating qualitative and quantitative researches with explanatory design. There were 20 students as the samples selected by using Simple Random sampling technique.  Instruments used in this research were two-tier diagnostic test and interview to strengthen the data obtained. The results of analyzing the data showed that the profile of students’ mental model of experimental group using Macromedia Flash based learning media overall had 70% intact mental model and 30% alternative mental model, the control group students had 37% intact mental model and 63% alternative mental model.  The research findings also showed that there was an effect of Macromedia Flash based learning media toward students’ mental model.  The result of hypothesis testing that SPSS was used to help showed sig. (2-tailed) 0.000, it meant that Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected.

Abstract

Selama ini dalam mengolah nilai siswa menggunakan cara manual mengakibatkan pekerjaan menjadi sulit dan tidak efisien dalam waktu. Dalam penggunaan program Microsoft Office Excel ini diharapkan mampu memberikan kemudahan dalam menghitung ataupun mengolah nilai rapor siswa, baik untuk bapak dan ibu guru maupun wali kelas. Dalam penggunaan program Office Excel ini maka bapak dan ibu guru serta wali kelas menjadi mudah dalam mengolah nilai setiap mata pelajaran tanpa harus menunggu bantuan dalam pengolahan nilai. Diadakannya pelatihan ini maka bapak dan ibu guru di SDN 16 AIR TAWAR TIMUR PADANG terampil dalam mengoperasikan salah satu program aplikasi yaitu Microsoft Office Excel dalam menghitung nilai siswa ataupun pengolahan yang digunakan untuk nilai rapor.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe development of technology that is termed ad Industrial Revolution 4.0 is an era of innovation developed rapidly that can help the creation of new technology. The research findings developed an Android based instructional media that was named as WINLAB (Wawasan didalam Pembelajaran Laboratorium), it consisted of the introduction of laboratory equipment, and it was expected to ease students in the learning process. It was Mixed Method Research. The research findings showed that this instructional media had the appropriateness with 85% percentage and very valid criterion by the validators of media experts, 96.92% percentage and very valid criterion by the validator of material experts, practicality test by Chemistry subject teachers showed 92% percentage with very practical criterion, the response test of the tenth-grade student of MIA 1 at State Sport Senior High School Riau Province stated that Android based instructional media was very good with 90% percentage. However, this research still consisted of some shortcomings, so it was expected in the future that the effectiveness test would be done to know the effectiveness of the media.  Keywords: WINLAB, android, chemistry instructional media  ABSTRAK Perkembangan teknologi yang diistilahkan dengan revolusi industri 4.0 merupakan era inovasi yang berkembang sangat pesat sehingga mampu membantu terciptanya teknologi baru. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendesain dan uji coba media pembelajaran berbasis android pada materi praktikum pengenalan alat laboratorium kimia yang digunakan sebagai sumber belajar yang mudah di akses bagi peserta didik SMA. Hasil penelitian menghasilkan sebuah media pembelajaran berbasis android yang diberi nama “WINLAB” (Wawasan didalam Pembelajaran Laboratorium) yang berisikan tentang pengenalan alat-alat laboratorium yang diharapkan dapat memudahkan peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Mixed Method. Research. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran ini memiliki kelayakan oleh validator ahli media dengan persentase 85% dengan kriteria sangat valid, validator ahli materi dengan persentase 96.92% dengan kriteria sangat valid, uji praktikalitas oleh guru kimia dengan persentase 92% dengan kriteria sangat praktis, dan uji respon peserta didik kelas X MIA 1 SMAN Olahraga Provinsi Riau menyatakan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis android sangat bagus dengan persentase 90%. Namun, penelitian ini masih memiliki beberapa kekurangan sehingga diharapkan kedepannya dilakukan uji efektifitas untuk mengetahui keefektifan media. Kata kunci: WINLAB, android, media pembelajaran kimia

Abstract

Abstract – Life insurance is one of term for the transfer of risk. The main function of life insurance is as a transfer of risk from the insured to the insurer. Because that function, insurance company are required to determine the factors influencing and know the probability where at a certain time the insured will be many taking insurance claim. The right analysis for this problem is a cox regression model, because this analysis relates to someone survival situasion and the time as main factor. The result of this study indicate that the factors  that affect the risk of insurance claim are factors sex and type of work. Opportunity risk of the insured event occurs by female is    times than the insured event by male. Then the risk of the insured event occurs by outdoor times than the insured event by indoor.Keywords – Life Insurance, Klaim,  Cox Regression.

Abstract

Abstract – Distribution of education in Sumatera Barat has become one of the priotities in the development of human resources. But until now, education in Sumatera Barat is still not evenly distributed. This can be see from the low of Participation Rough figures in certain areas as well as uneven distribution of theachers and educational fasilities. The purpose of this research is to provide information to local authorities about the state of education in local region to produce an appropriate policy regarding development of educational infrastructure and teachers distribution. Biplot is a graphic technique that presents together information about the object of observation and variabels in one plot. In this research, the three biplots is for elementary school education, junior high schools and high schools. Based biplot display, educational equity District / City in West Sumatra for all levels of education has not been evenly distributed.
