Abstract

The purpose of the present study is to analyze visual elements of junior high school English textbook published by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia. The visual elements were analyzed by using the visual semiotic theory by (Barthes, 1977). This study shows that there are three categories of multicultural values represented in the EFL textbook: respecting other people’s tradition, and appreciating women’s equal rights, and appreciating other people’s perspectives. Three images represented respecting other people’s tradition, one image represented appreciating women’s equal right, and two images represented appreciating other people’s perspective. Furthermore, two visuals found in the present study are categorized as source culture (SC), four visual elements are categorized as universality culture (UC), and there is not visual elements representing target culture (TC). The present study found that there is still imbalanced representation of multicultural values in  EFL textbook for Indonesian junior high school. Keywords:  EFL textbook, Visual Analysis, Multicultural Values

Abstract

Previous research results indicate that there are different behaviors towards taxpayer compliance in various countries that are burdened by the prevailing culture. This research verifies the effect of the self-assessment system on corporate taxpayer compliance. Respondents who participated in this study were 34 respondents. The data analysis test used simple regression analysis with the results showing that there was a significant effect of implementing the self-assessment system on taxpayer compliance with the business. The implication of the research result recommends that excellent service efforts are provided by providing counseling and socialization regarding the procedures for implementing tax administration so that it makes it easier for taxpayers to settle their tax obligations. Keywords: Taxation System, Self-Assessment System, Taxpayer Compliance.

Abstract

Tax Amnesty expects to improve tax compliance due to more effective supervision, supported by more accurate information regarding the list of taxpayer assets. From the initial data obtained, an anomaly obtained that in 2012 – 2017 there is a lower tendency for tax disputes when compared to the year after implementing the tax amnesty, namely 2018 and 2019. This study aims to determine and analyze the magnitude of the Effect of Tax Amnesty on Tax Disputes. The population in this study is a tax dispute with 21 respondents/defendants. Determining the sample in this study is based on the purposive sampling method. The data testing technique uses simple linear regression with a significant level of 5% alpha. Based on the study results, Tax Amnesty has a significant effect on Tax Disputes.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to investigate the ethical approaches employed by auditors in order to improve the overall quality of audits. The study utilizes a qualitative research methodology. The individuals chosen for interviews consist of the Head of Department, Auditors, as well as functional and non-structural officials from a regional examination office located in Bandung City. The results obtained from the conducted research demonstrate that Audit Ethics positively influence the quality of audits, which can be classified as either moderately satisfactory or not yet reaching optimal levels. Consequently, the structural authorities have enhanced the optimization of ethical strategies aimed at enhancing audit quality. However, they need to gain familiarity with the evaluation and measurement of auditors' performance and the conduct of such evaluations or measurements. To achieve proficiency and excellence, auditors must consistently execute their responsibilities in a professional manner and adhere to the prescribed code of ethics. This commitment ensures unbiased outcomes that furnish valuable information to the pertinent organization.

Abstract

Playstation 3™ is one of the best consoles and is still in great demand by the gaming community. Playstation 3™ sometimes has damage, both hardware and software. Playstation damage experienced by the playstation rental places will bring significant losses to the business owner. For that, we need a system that can diagnose playstation damage relatively quickly and practically compared to diagnoses made manually by humans. Expert systems and forward-chaining method can be applied to diagnose Playstation 3™ damage. The development of this expert system requires hardware and software. This application is also designed web-based to facilitate management and access. The results of this study are the application of the Playstation 3™ damage diagnosis expert system based on indications of problems that occur.Playstation 3™ merupakan salah satu console terbaik dan sampai sekarang masih banyak diminati oleh masyarakat pecinta game. Playstation 3™ kadangkala mengalami kerusakan, baik kerusakan pada hardware maupun softwarenya. Kerusakan playstation yang dialami oleh tempat-tempat penyewaan/rental playstation akan mendatangkan kerugian yang tidak sedikit bagi pemilik usaha tersebut. Untuk itu, diperlukan suatu sistem yang dapat melakukan diagnosis kerusakan playstation dengan relatif lebih cepat dan praktis dibandingkan diagnosis yang dilakukan secara manual oleh manusia. Sistem pakar (expert system) dan metode forward chaining dapat diterapkan untuk melakukan diagnosis kerusakan Playstation 3™. Pengembangan sistem pakar ini membutuhkan perangkat keras dan perangkat lunak. Aplikasi ini juga dirancang berbasis web untuk memudahkan pengelolaan dan pengaksesannya. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah aplikasi sistem pakar diagnosis kerusakan Playstation 3™ berdasarkan indikasi gejala permasalahan yang terjadi.

Abstract

Learning outcomes are a measure of the success of students in studying the material that has been delivered within a certain period, learning outcomes are used to determine the position of students against predetermined standards. The application of Life Skills, Discipline, and Motivation is expected to help improve or change students to get better physical education learning outcomes. The population of this study was class VIII students of SMPN 4 Karangpawitan Garut. The population was 98 people, with a sample of 30 students in the experimental group A, experimental group B and 30 students in the experimental control group C. Sampling was carried out using purposive sampling. The research method in this study is Quasi Exsperiment with a pre-test post-test control group design. The improvement of life skills is measured using an instrument from Cronin and Allen (2017), namely the Life Skills Scale for Sport (LSSS) which consists of eight components, namely: teamwork, goal setting, time management, emotional skills, communication, social skills, leadership, and problem solving. solving and decision making. And the increase in discipline and motivation was measured to determine the description of student learning implementation on student learning outcomes at a junior high school in Karangpawitan Garut.  By using a questionnaire instrument, the results showed that there was a significant increase in life skills, discipline and motivation from each experimental group. The component with the highest improvement is life skills with a teamwork component (teamwork). Keywords: Life Skills, Discipline, Motivation, Physical Education.

Abstract

This article aims to explore various meanings within the sentences of "amr" (command) and "nahy" (prohibition) found in the book "Bidāyat al-Hidāyah". The research method employed is qualitative research. The data sources are divided into primary data sources, namely the book "Bidāyat al-Hidāyah," and secondary data sources, including various literature such as books, journals, and other texts related to the topics studied by the researcher. The data collection techniques used are documentation and purposive sampling. The sampling results indicate the presence of 14 sentences in the form of "fiʿil amr" (verbs of command), two sentences of "ism fiʿil amr" (nouns of command), and one sentence of " fiʿil muḍāri' " (present tense verb) preceded by "lam amr." As for "nahy", there are 12 sentence samples. The meanings of "amr" include ten sentences meaning guidance, one sentence meaning discipline, two sentences meaning pure command, two sentences meaning creation, and one sentence meaning prayer. Regarding the "nahy" sentences, four sentences were found to mean guidance, two sentences meant clarification of consequences, one sentence meant pure prohibition, one sentence meant admonition, one sentence meant avoidance, one sentence meant to dislike, and one sentence meant belittlement.

Abstract

Dalam kehidupan sehari-hari manusia sering dihadapkan pada kebutuhan yang mendesak, bahkan kadang-kadang karena keinginan desakan untuk mempertahankan status diri. Secara umum kebutuhan manusia dapat terpenuhi walaupun tidak seluruhnya. Kebutuhan yang mendesak harus dipenuhi dengan secepatnya biasanya sering dilaksanakan tanpa pemikiran yang matang dan dapat merugikan lingkungan atau manusia yang lain. Maraknya kejahatan yang terjadi hingga hari ini terus menerus berkembang, maka banyak pula korban dari kejahatan tersebut yang telah dirugikan. Namun satu hal yang disesalkan adalah tindak pidana pencurian yang telah dilakukan oleh pelaku lanjut usia. Akan tetapi para lanjut usia dalam melakukan tindak pidana bukanlah murni sebagai tindak kejahatan. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah yuridis Normatif. Spesifikasi penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptis analitis. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan data primer melalui wawancara dan data sekunder melalui studi kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan dasar penerapan hukum pidana materil terhadap terdakwa yang lanjut usia pada putusan nomor 75/Pid.B/2016/PN.Mrs pada dasarnya tidak ada perbedaan mendasar apabila seseorang lanjut usia telah melakukan tindak pidana. Karena hukum pidana tidak membedakan status seseorang apabila dia melakukan kejahatan. Akan tetapi ada pertimbangan lain yang mempengaruhi pemikiran hakim dalam menjatuhkan putusannya sebab secara psikologis si terdakwa sudah berstatus lanjut usia. Pertimbangan hukum hakim dalam menjatuhkan putusan, terdapat kekeliruan karena didalam putusan hakim tidak menuangkan pertimbangan mengenai hal-hal yang memberatkan dan pertimbangan hal-hal yang meringankan terdakwa. Hal ini sangat bertentangan dengan pasal 197 ayat 1 butir f yang menyatakan 197 ayat (1) huruf f KUHAP bahwa surat putusan pemidanaan harus memuat keadaan yang memberatkan dan yang meringankan terdakwa.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of payroll accounting information systems on payroll internal control. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey approach to employees directly related to the accounting information system at a motorcycle spare part dealer in Badung City with 30 respondents. Using a simple linear regression analysis technique to determine the magnitude of the influence used the influence of the payroll accounting information system on payroll internal control. The calculation results show a positive influence of the payroll accounting information system on internal control of payroll with a total effect of 66.4%. The remaining 33.6% can influence by other factors not examined in the study.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a significant influence between work motivation and work discipline on employee performance. The object of research is 50 employees in one of the sub-district offices of Bandung Regency using a questionnaire so that data is taken using the population. The variables in this study are divided into two, namely, independent and dependent variables. The independent variable divides into motivation and work discipline, and the dependent variable is employee performance. This study uses using the SPSS version 16 application. Research using Path Analysis shows that the variable Motivation (X1) has a direct effect of 26.0%, an indirect effect through a relationship with Work Discipline (X2) of 15.9%, and the total effect is 41.9%. The Work Discipline Variable (X2) has a direct effect of 20.7% and an indirect effect through its relationship with motivation (X1) of 15.9%. The total effect is 36.6%. The results of the relationship of the coefficient of determination (R square) with the variable Work Motivation (X1) and Work Discipline (X2) in determining the Employee Performance variable (Y) is 78.5%. In comparison, other factors that affect employee performance but are not examined show by the value of € = 0.215 or 21.5%. As for suggestions concerning the research results, agencies should be able to improve the above variables further.
