Abstract

Produced water has a complex composition and more than 40% is discharged into the environment. Constructed wetlands is one of the water produced treatment systems that use vegetation, media, and microorganisms for pollutants removal. The objectives of this research were to determine the effect of pollutants removal for Typha Latifolia morfology. Subsurface constructed wetlands is used in this study. The reactor is made with gravel, sand, and soil medium and uses Typha Latifolia as a plant. This research consist of detention time 1,3,5,7,9 day. The experimental result shows that 9 days of detention time, Typha Latifolia has average growth rate 31 cm and weight gain was 0,6 kg.Keywords: Constructed wetland, Subsurface flow, Typha latifolia

Abstract

Increased community activities will increase the amount of waste generated. Tampan District is one of a small town in the city of Pekanbaru can not be separated from tge garbage thing. This research aims to determine the generation, composition and physical characteristics and chemical (proximate analysis) non domestic garbage in Tampan of District Pekanbaru of City and generation data, composition and physical characteristics and chemical (proximate analysis) garbage are indispensable in designing of garbage management system. This research was conducted in 37 places including 19 institutions ( 8 schools, 5 offices and 6 health centers), 11 commercials garbage (6 stores, 1 markets, 2 restaurants and 2 hotels), 1 street sweeping and 6 industrials. Determination of non-domestic garbage generation is performed by interviewing and sampling of garbage at source based methode SNI 19-3964-1994 performed for eight day in a row. The results study of non-domestic generation of Tampan District Pekanbaru City in the amount of 0,38 kg/p/d in of weight unit or 4,13 l/p/d in volume unit. The composition of non domestic Tampan of District Pekanbaru of City solid waste domination of organic waste about 60,94% and anorganic garbage composition of 39,06%. For Physical characteristics such as specific weight is 0,23 kg/l and composition factor is 1,38 litre. The chemical characteristics (proximate analysis) are moisture 26,2%, volatile rate 54,6%, ash rate 9,5% and 10,0% fixed carbon rate.Key words : non domestic solid waste, waste generation composition, physical characteristic, chemical characteristic (proximate analysis).

Abstract

Batik wastewater have color contents as naphtol, indigosol, and remazol which is streamed directly to the environment without treatment can decrease environment quality because batik wastewater consist heavy metals, suspended solids, and organic matters. Batik wastewater can be treated by electrocoagulation method. These research targets are to determine the removal efficiency of TSS and pH, compare to the quality standard, and knowing the effect of voltage and contact time. The electrocoagulation basin reactor is made in 30 cm x 25 cm x 25 cm of dimentions with total volume of wastewater is 10 L, using aluminium electrode plates with size of plate is of 17 cm x 17 cm, the plate thickness is 3 mm the distance between plates is 1 cm. The variabele of research are voltage (10, 15, and 20 volts) and contact time 30, 45, and 60 minutes. The result showed that the most efficient is 20 volts of voltage 60 minutes of contact time. The percent removal for TSS is 99,11% with concentration of effluent is 11 mg/L. The pH value is 11,2. Based on the result TSS parameter already complied the standard of PERMENLH/5/XLII/2014, except pH parameter.Keywords: Aluminium, electrocoagulation, batik wastewater, voltage, time contact.

Abstract

Mutiara Permai Recident do not have sewerage system facilities and on site sanitation systems. To solve this problems, planned a sewerage system and treatment of domestic wastewater is needed. The plan location consisting of 4 neighbourhood, service area covers the entire house totaling of 451 units. Sewerage system for residential use shallow sewer system that is domestic waste water (gray water and black water) directly connected using waste water pipes and sewerage systems with gravity system. Pipe dimensions is 100 mm for the waste water from the persil pipeline, 150 mm for service pipeline, 200 mm up to 560 mm for lateral pipelines, 560 mm for distributary pipeline and 800 mm for the main pipeline leading to the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP). Abstract

The lack of clean water Sources in the regency of Bengkalis create communities that are the island's shortage of clean water. Moreover, during the dry season, services of PDAM Bengkalis was only able to supply about 10% of the number of existing communities. While Bengkalis island has abundant sea water availability. The purpose of research is to reduce the concentrations of Pb and pH as on the parameter using the method of ion exchange support using column height 1.2 m in diameter 2 inches of clays as well as Kulim size -10+15 mesh that has been on activation by using the HCI. A variation was used in this study is bed hight of 40 cm, 80 cm and 120 cm with discharge flow 80 ml/min, 100 ml/min, and 120 ml/min. Results of the analysis of effluents obtained efficiency for metal Pb is in the range of 41,44% - 89,35%. Metal concentrations of pb with the best reduction of 0,024 mg/L at bed hight variation 80 cm with discharge flow 80 ml/min and the pH from 8,5 to be 7,3. These concentrations already meets the quality of the raw water supply based on PERMENKES416/MENKES/PER/IX/1990. Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) values obtained at the best efficiency of 78.6 Meq/100 gr with most types of minerals contained in the clay Kulim is a montmorilonit.Keywords: Bed Hight, Clay, Discharge Flow , Ion Exchange, Sea Water Bengkalis

Abstract

Impurities in peat water in the form of high organic concentrations and dark brown to blackish color that cause negative impact on health if consumed in the long term. This condition encourages the emergence of new studies in peat water treatment. One of them by using natural coagulant with coagulation and flocculation process. In this study will utilize moringa seeds, corn kernels and watermelon seeds in comparing the effectiveness of single natural coagulant and natural coagulant mixture by varying the mass and natural coagulant mixture. The results showed that the parameter of organic matter and color was 107,1 mg / l with mass of 0.5 gr and 76 Pt-Co with mass of 0.5 gr for single natural coagulant of Moringa seed powder, and 201,1 mg / l with mass 0.5 gr and 188 Pt-Co with a mass of 2.0 grams for natural coagulant mixture of moringa and corn powder.Keywords: impurities, organic substances, color, moringa seeds, corn kernels, and watermelon seeds

Abstract

Industry of palm oil continues to develop so that production of palm oil increases followed by increasing by-products in the form of waste. The biggest waste is Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) wastewater and needs to be treated because containing high organic matter. Utilization of microalgae carried out to wastewater treatment process. POME is used as a medium and nutrient for microalgae growth. Chlorella sp. immobilized with calcium alginate to remove of TSS parameter on POME. In this study, variations of wastewater concentration are 50%, 75%, 100% (v/v), and different source light i.e. artificial light and sunlight sources, and the contact times 0,1,3,5,7 (days ). Based on the results that Chlorella sp. able to growth well in a medium of 50% wastewater concentration using artificial lightsource on 7th days and removal efficiency of TSS obtained to 76.43%. Abstract

Palm oil mill effluent containing pollutants such as organic matter and high suspended solids that contributes to environmental pollution. Organic material contained in palm oil mill effluent can be used as nutrition by microalgae Chlorella sp. which is entrapped inside the alginate bead and can reduce TSS content in palm oil mill effluent. The TSS removal process was carried out in a flat-photobioreactor with various concentrations of algal bead in the amount of 6, 8, 10, 12, and 14 beads/mL of wastewater with contact times of 0, 1, 3, 5, and 7 days. Based on the results of the study, the best TSS removal efficiency was found in flatphotobioreactors with concentrations of algal bead 12 beads/mL of wastewater on the seventh day at 80.1%. Abstract

utilization of a dynamic world energy consumption in the limitations of fossil energy reserves has created opportunities for the use of microalgae as a biofuel. The use of microalgae as a feedstock source for bioethanol production requires high yields of both biomass and carbohydrates. one of the potentially mikroalga as raw bioetanol is Chlorella pyrenoidosa. Chlorella pyrenoidosa has a carbohydrate content in the cellulose and hemicellulose form in its cell wall which can be utilized for bioethanol production. Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) has been studied for their potential as medium growth of microalgae due to high nutrient content. This research was conducted with variation of POME concentration (0; 25; 50; 75 ; 100%v) in medium and addition of synthetic nutrient in the form of urea as nitrogen source and TSP as phosphate source with ratio (2:1 ; 1:2 ; 0,5:1) to enchance the algae growth. Abstract

Bagan Kota has a potential to cause noise from swallow breeding. Local communities that are constantly exposed to noise have the potential to affect people's comfort and health. The purpose of this study was to determine the intensity of outcome noise by swallow breeding, mapping of distribution pattern of noise and noise control prevention. The noise measurement method refers to the noise mapping method and the tool used is the Sound Level Meter (SLM). Measurement based on noise mapping method is carried out for 2 days, that is on Sunday and Monday. The results of the study showed that from 113 measurement points, there were 6 points on Sunday which showed numbers that exceeded the quality standard and 23 points on Monday showed a number that exceeded the quality standard. The highest noise level is 79.01 dB where this point is the source of noise and the lowest noise level of 47.96 dB which is quite far from the noise source. Noise mapping uses the Arcgis 10 program to determine the distribution pattern of noise caused by the noise mapping method. Based on the results of Arcgis 10 shown by different colors, namely red, orange, yellow, light green and dark green.
