The Effectiveness of Rapid Typing Software and Module for Improving 10-Finger Typing Skills

This research aims to know the effectiveness of rapid typing software and module in improving students typing skills. The program of Automatic Expertise and Office Governance requires students to be able to master typing skills. The population of the study was 62 students of class X OTKP 1 and OTKP 2 in SMK N 7 Yogyakarta. Samples were 30 students of class X OTKP 2 and the class selection used simple random sampling technique. The data collection methods were text typing skills documentations and Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) test method was used for the data analysis. The simultaneous test results show the significance of 0.000 < 0.05, it means all variables have a significant influence on typing skills. While the test results partially indicate that the rapid typing software and module only have a significant influence on the sub competence of typing speed, but no impact on the accuracy of typing. Based on these findings it can be concluded that rapid typing software and modules have a significant and effective influence in improving typing skills. Rapid typing software cannot only be used in schools but can also be applied in offices, government agencies and private sectors.

This study aimed to produce and determine the feasibility of contextual learning video on course of Administration Education Research Methodology. The research method was research and development of ADDIE model. The stages of this research and development consisted of Analysis, Design, and Development. The data collection techniques in analysis stage were interview and observation, while questionnaire was used in development stage. Data collection instruments were inventory questionnaires with rating scales. Data analysis technique was descriptive analysis with quantitative and descriptive approaches. Descriptive techniques were used to analyze the results of problems and learning components of Office Administration Education Research Methodology. Quantitative techniques were used to analyze data from experts. Validation of developed contextual learning media involved media expert and material expert. The conclusions of the particular study are: 1) this study has produced a contextual learning video on course of Administration Education Research Methodology with material of research proposal in topic of Introduction; 2) according to the assessment of media experts and material experts, the developed learning video has a criteria of very feasible.

This study examines the use and development of instructional media by the teachers of Office Administration Vocational School (OAVS) in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY). The population of this survey research is all teachers of OAVS in DIY. This research employed the purposive sampling technique and considered only the teachers who had been teaching productive subjects for at least five years. The descriptive analysis technique was used to conduct the data analysis. The result shows all the teachers of OAVS in DIY have utilized learning media in teaching and learning activities. The most widely used type of instructional media is the PowerPoint. The technical constraints experienced in utilizing learning media are related to the preparation of using learning media. While the non-technical are related to the availability of facilities and infrastructure. Teachers of OAVS in DIY who have developed learning media are still at a low level. Technical things experienced by teachers in developing learning media are constrained in the process of planning the development of learning media and should look for media experts who will validate. The non-technical constraints faced by teachers in media development are issues about facilities and low teacher motivation.

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of entrepreneurship learning models based on social missions to advance entrepreneurial interest in vocational high school students. Experimental research use as a method, with 72 students participating in Class XII of SMK Negeri 1 Kudus. Data collection using questionnaires and learning outcomes. Data analysis using ANOVA and Scheffe test. The results showed that student learning outcomes with social mission learning models and conventional learning models have differences, where the social mission learning model is more useful to improve student learning outcomes and entrepreneurial interest. More than that, the social mission-based entrepreneurship learning model is needed in the curriculum. Entrepreneurship training through social mission will prepare students to become entrepreneurs, in addition to being more concerned about the environment and society. Future research needs to focus more on studying entrepreneurship learning curricula in vocational high schools.

The success of vocational education cannot be separated from the proper management of learning by its objectives. This study aims to explore the pitfalls and the needs of practical teaching in the Vocational High School of Automation and Office Management Program (AOMP) in Yogyakarta city. This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The data obtained were analyzed by using the qualitative analysis model of Miles and Huberman with stages: data reduction, presenting data, verifying data, and concluding data. The results of this study show that the complex equations that are occurred in practical learning of the Vocational High School of AOMP are including the absence of practical teaching materials that are relevant to the industry, there is no specific time for practical learning, lack of facilities and infrastructures, deficiency tools and time to use office laboratories, and there are new types of jobs in the office workforce that are difficult to be followed. Moreover, these matters are complicated for schools to be embodied in the form of practical learning, resulting in poorly trained vocational students in doing their duty that fit the areas of expertise learned. This hardship implies that vocational students become less confident in doing their jobs in the industry either during an internship program or when working in the industry. This research is limited to pitfalls that occur in Yogyakarta City and in schools, which are the subject of this research.

Pembelajaran merupakan suatu proses komunikasi. Komunlkasi adalah proses pengiriman informasi dari satu pihak kepada pihak lain untuk tujuan tertentu. Komunikasi dikatakan efektif apabila komunikasi yang terjadi menimbulkan arus Informasi dua arah, yaitu dengan munculnya feedback dari pihak ponerima pesan. Kualitas pembelajaran dipengaruhi oleh efektif tidaknya komunikasi yang terjadi di dalamnya. Komunikasi efektif dalam pembelajaran merupakan proses transformasi pesan berupa ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi dari pendidik kepada peserta didik, dimana peserta didik mampu memahami maksud pesan sesuai dengan tujuan yang telah ditentukan, sehingga menambah wawasan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi serta menimbulkan perubahan tingkah laku menjadi lebih baik. Pengajar adalah pihak yang paling bertanggungjawab terhadap berlangsungnya komunikasi yang efektif dalam pemmbelajaran, sehingga dosen sebagai pengajar dituntut memiliki kemampuan berkomunikasi yang baik agar menghasilkan proses pombelajaran yang efektif.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: 1). unit kerja di lingkungan Kantor Pemerintahan Kota Yogyakarta yang mengimplementasikan sistem manajemen arsip elektronik; 2). sistem manajemen arsip elektronik yang diimplementasikan; 3). jenis arsip yang dikelola dengan sistem manajemen arsip elektronik; 4). sarana yang digunakan dalam implementasi manajemen arsip elektronik di lingkungan Kantor Pemerintahan Kota Yogyakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survei. Sedangkan dilihat dari segi sifat analisisnya maka penelitian ini dikategorikan sebagai penelitian eksploratif deskriptif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah pegawai yang bertugas mengelola arsip pada kantor pemerintahan Kota Yogyakarta. Jumlah unit kerja yang menjadi subjek penelitian sebanyak 13. Responden yang menjadi sumber data pada setiap unit kerja adalah satu orang, sehingga jumlah responden pada penelitian ini sebanyak 13 orang. Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian ini adalah: 1). terdapat dua unit kerja di lingkungan pemerintahan Kota Yogyakarta yang mengimplementasikan sistem manajemen arsip elektronik, yaitu Dinas Perizinan dan Dinas Kependudukan dan Pencatatan Sipil; 2). sistem manajemen arsip elektronik yang diimplementasikan pada Dinas Perizinan dan Dinas Kependudukan dan Pencatatan Sipil adalah sama, yaitu terdiri dari sistem pemindaian dokumen dan sistem software manajemen dokumen; 3). jenis arsip yang dikelola dengan sistem manajemen arsip elektronik adalah arsip dinamis in aktif; 4). sarana yang digunakan untuk implementasi sistem manajemen arsip elektronik di lingkungan Pemerintahan Kota Yogyakarta berupa: komputer, scanner, printer, compact disk, dan software manajemen arsip elektronik.
