Abstract

Telur puyuh merupakan jenis telur dengan kadar kolesterol tertinggi kedua setelah telur bebek. Telur puyuh memiliki kadar kolesterol dua kali lebih tinggi (844 mg/dl) dibanding telur ayam (423 mg/dl) namun kandungan gizi yang lebih baik daripada susu sapi segar. Telur puyuh banyak diminati karena terjangkau secara ekonomi dan tampilan yang unik.Antioksidan dari kuning telur dapat dilihat dari kadarMalondialdehida (MDA) atau penanda indikator radikal bebas. Antioksidan dalam telur puyuh dapat mengurangi efek oksidasi kolesterol dalam darah yang berpengaruh pada penyempitan arteri.Ekstrak daun pegagan (Centella asiatika) ditambahkan pada tepung pakan burung puyuh.Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi efektivitas pakan tambahan tepung pegagan burung puyuh terhadap penurunan nilai MDA dan kolesterol produk telur.Dua ratus burung puyuh (Coturnix coturnix japonica L.) betina terbagi dalam 4 kelompok diberi intervensi pakan dengan tambahan tepung pegagan selama 3 bulan. Berdasarkan analisis ANOVA pada kuning telur puyuh didapatkan bahwa kelompok puyuh yang diberi pakan dan tepung daun pegagan 1.5 % menunjukkan penurunan kadar MDA (1.77± 0.22 µg/mL) dan kolesterol (19.26±1.49mg/dl) dibandingkan kelompok lainnya dengan kadar tepung pegagan yang lebih rendah. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tepung daun pegagan mampu menurunkan nilai MDA dan kolesterol pada telur puyuh sehingga berimplikasi pada peningkatan kadar antioksidan

Abstract

The purpose of this research was find out the chemical of meatball with addition of different concentration of jackfruit seeds starch(0%, 10%, 20% and 30%). The result showed that addition of jackfruit seeds starch showed significant effect (P<0.05) to protein content but not significant (P>0.05) effect for the chemical content (water content, ash, fat), but increased levels of dietary fiber along with addition of different concentration of jackfruit seeds starch. Based on the chemical properties, it can be concluded that the 30% concentration of jackfruit seeds starch replace tapioca flour function as elasticy agent, but in general it is favoredKeywords : meatball, jackfruit seeds starch, meat chicken

Abstract

The current study was done in March 2016 by involving the cattle farmers from Slorok village, Kromengansubdistrict, Malang. The objective of this study was to investigate revenue of cattle sharing system and toanalyze its contribution on the farmer family's income. There is 18 farmers who used sharing system, wasselected by total sampling method. Primary data was collected by through survey and interview. The secondarydata was gained from institutions and related sources. Data analysis used in this study was income analysis ofcattle farmers (who used sharing system). The result showed that cattle farmer's income at Slorok was Rp.3.259.853/beef/year which was come from cattle sharing income.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh daya hambat edible coating kitosan – pati biji durian dengan penambahan ekstrak daun kesum terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dan Escherichia coli. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan perlakuan konsentrasi ekstrak daun kesum K0=0,00%; K1=0,20%; K2=0,40%; K3=0,60%; K4=0,80%; K5=1,00%; K6=1,20% dan K7=1,40%. Edible coating dibuat dengan formula dasar pati biji durian 3,00%; kitosan 0,80%; gliserol 0,60%. Parameter yang diamati adalah daya hambat menggunakan metode paper disk.  Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa daya hambat edible coating pati biji durian – kitosan dengan penambahan ekstrak daun kesum berpengaruh sangat nyata (p<0,01) terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus maupun Escherichia coli. Nilai daya hambat edible coating dengan penambahan ekstrak daun kesum terhadap bakteri S.aureus antara 3,432 – 4,344 mm, sedangkan bakteri  E.coli antara 2,233 – 3,596 mm. Daya hambat terhadap bakteri yang tertinggi adalah ekstrak daun kesum 1,40% sebesar 4,344 mm (S. aureus) dan 3,596 mm (E. coli). Semakin tinggi konsentrasi ekstrak daun kesum, terbukti bahwa semakin tinggi daya hambat terhadap bakteri S. aureus dan E. coli. ABSTRACTThe aim of this research is to determine the inhibitory effect of edible coating chitosan from durian seed starch by the addition of Kesum leaf extract toward the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli.  This experimental design used is a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) treated by concentration of Kesum leaf extract (K):  K0=0.00%, K1=0.20%, K2= 0.40%, K3=0.60%, K4=0.80%, K5=1.00%, K6=1.20%, and K7=1.40%. The formulation of edible coating consist of 3.00% durian seed starch; 0.80% chitosan and 0.60% gliserol. The observed parameter is inhibitory effect using paper disk method. The result showed that the inhibition of edible coating chitosan from durian seed starch treated with the addition of Kesum leaf extract has significantly effect (p<0.01) on inhibition the growth of S. aureus and E. coli.  The inhibitory effect of edible coating by adding Kesum leaf extract to S. aereus growth ranged 3.432 – 4.344 mm, while in E. coli ranged 2.233 – 3.596 mm. The highest of inhibitory effect on bacteria was 1.40% Kesum leaf extract; 4.344 mm in S. aureus and 3.596 mm in E. coli. The higher the concentration of Kesum leaf extract, the greater the inhibition of S. aureus and E. coli.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan lama masa kering dengan produksi susu dan puncak laktasi pada sapi FH. Materi yang digunakan adalah data sekunder dari pencatatan recording 189 ekor sapi FH pada PT. Greenfields Indonesia di Desa Babadan Kecamatan Ngajum Kabupaten Malang. Analisis pengaruh lama masa kering terhadap produksi susu dan puncak laktasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis regresi linier. Hasil analisis regresi menunjukkan bahwa hubungan lama masa kering terhadap produksi susu berpengaruh signifikan (P<0,05) dengan persamaan regresi Y = 28,31 – 1,26 X sedangkan dengan puncak laktasi menunjukkan hubungan yang tidak berpengaruh (P>0,05). Lama masa kering menentukan produksi susu pada sapi perah dengan masa kering yang ideal 55- 60 hari dimana semakin lama masa kering maka produksi susu akan menurun. Data on milk production from 189 FH cows raised at PT. Greenfields Indonesia were collected and subjected to linier regression analysis. The results showed that dry period length significantly (P<0.05) on affected milk production with regression equation of Y = 28.31 – 1.26 X, but had no significant effect (P.0.05) on peak milk yield. The optimal length of dry period was observed between 55 and 60 days. Milk production decreased with the increasing length of dry period above 55-60 days.

Abstract

Storage of chicken egg without special treatment, only up to two weeks there will be a decrease in quality. An alternative in maintain the quality of chicken egg is applied edible coating. The purpose of this research to determine effect edible coating sago starch with the additional of kesum leaf extract to qualitys egg and determine effect the interactions between the aplication edible coating sago starch with the additional of kesum leaf extract during difference stored to qualitys egg. This research used a method experiment Completely Randomized Design (CRD) factorial pattern with two factors, namely the concentrations of kesum leaf extract (K) and difference egg storages (L) consisting of concentrations namely K0 (control), K1 (edible coating + 0% kesum leaf extract), K2 (edible coating + 0,6% kesum leaf extract) and K3 (edible coating + 1,2% kesum leaf extract) and egg storage time, namely L0 (0 days), L1 (7 days), L2 (14 days), L3 (21 days), L4 (28 days) and L5 (35 days). The observed variables is egg weight loss, yolk index, albumin index and haugh unit. Results of the Analysis of Variance showed the effect edible coating sago starch with the addition of kesum leaf extract and interaction the effect edible coating sago starch with the addition of kesum leaf extract on difference storage of very significantly (P<0.01) to haugh unit with averages 63,09 – 69,59, yolk index with average 0,204 – 0,327, albumin index with averages 0,035 to 0,058. It was concluded that the use edible coating  sago starch with the addition kesum leaf  exstract of 1,2% can maintain the quality of chicken egg until storage for 21 days.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahu kontribusi usaha ternak kambing terhadap pendapatan keluarga petani peternak. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Rasau Jaya Kabupaten Kubu Raya. Penelitian ini dimulai dari bulan Desember 2019. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survey dengan penentuan sampel secara purposive sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 43 peternak. Data yang dikumpulkan adalah data primer dan sekunder. Rata-rata pendapatan usaha ternak kambing adalah Rp 5.464.427,71/tahun pada skala I, Rp 7.955.250,21/tahun pada skala II dan Rp 9.399.334,27/tahun pada skala III. Kontribusi pendapatan usaha ternak kambing terhadap pendapatan keluarga petani peternak di ketiga skala masing-masing adalah 32,8% pada skala I, 43,6% pada skala II dan 48,9% pada skala III yang menggambarkan bahwa usaha ternak kambing di Kecamatan Rasau Jaya masih termasuk tipologi cabang usaha ABSTRACT The aim of this research to analyze how much of goat husbandry activity contribution to the farmers family income. This study was designed using descriptive analysis method by interviewing the respondents directly to obtain the primary data. The secondary data was obtained from village data and BPS. The respondents divide to three scales based on the ownership number of goats among one year ago, such as scale I, scale II and scale III. The annually average income of goat husbandry activity in Bangelan village were Rp 5.464.427,71 in scale I, Rp 7.955.250,21 in scale II and Rp 9.399.334,27 in scale III. The annually average income of the farmers family in Kecamatan Cikajang were Rp 17.550.142,71 in scale I, Rp 20.715.250,21 in scale II and Rp 21.699.334,27 in scale III. The annually average contribution of goat husbandry activity to the farmers family income were 32,8% in scale I, 43,6% in scale II and 48,9% in scale III

Abstract

Ayam Tukong merupakan salah satu jenis ayam lokal yang berasal Kalimantan Barat dan merupakan sumber daya genetik unggas lokal Indonesia yang sangat potensial dikembangkan. Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui karakteristik produksi ayam Tukong sebagai upaya dasar dalam pengelolaan plasma nutfah ayam lokal di wilayah Kalimantan Barat. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari-Juli 2020 di Laboratorium Peternakan Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Tanjungpura. Materi yang digunakan adalah adalah 7 ekor ayam Tukong yang terdiri atas 2 ekor jantan dan 5 ekor betina. Parameter yang diamati ciri khas ayam Tukong secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif (bobot badan dan bentuk tubuh), umur pertama kali bertelur, produksi telur, berat telur, warna telur, fertilitas, daya tetas dan bobot tetas. Ayam Tukong dari ukuran tubuh, warna bulu dan bentuk telur tidak berbeda jauh dengan ayam lokal lainnya. Perbedaan spesifik yang dimiliki ayam Tukong daripada ayam lokal lainnya yaitu tidak terdapat tungging/pangkal ekor atau ”brutu” yang biasanya terdapat di bagian ujung tulang belakang sehingga menyebabkan ayam Tukong tidak mempunyai bulu ekor. Bobot badan pada ayamTukong jantan sebesar 1,65±0,82kg sedangkan pada ayam betina sebesar 1,42±0,55 kg. Jumlah produksi telur ayam Tukong  mencapai 9,45±1,22 butir/ekor dengan berat telur 40,37±5,05 g. Fertilitas telur ayam Tukong adalah 73,51% dengan daya tetas sebanyak 81,42% dan bobot tetas sebesar 26,89±2,73 g.

Abstract

This research was conducted in PT Greenfields Indonesia, Babadan Village, Ngajum Districts, Malang, East Java. The purpose of the study was to compare the milk production of FH (Friesian Holstein) dairy cows in various lactation periods. The material used in this research was data records of Australian FH, which have been developed in the Greenfields Indonesia farm. The data used were from 473 dairy cows, which consisted of 100 heads for each lactation period from the period I up to period IV and 73 heads for lactation period V. The variables measured were milk production 305 day 2X ME, daily milk yield production, peak day production, and the peak lactation. The data were analyzed using analysis of variance, and if the result showed differences, the analysis was continued using the Duncan test. The results showed that the increase in the lactation period significantly (P<0.01) decreased milk production and increased the duration of lactation peaks of FH cows. The highest milk production 305 day 2X ME was in the lactation period II, which was around 10232.90 ± 1036.62 kg/lactation or 32 ± 5.13 kg/day. In this period, the peak day in milk lactation was 71.5 ± 27.5 days, and the peak of milk production was 45.7 ± 4.1 kg/day. In conclusion, milk production increased from the first lactation period to the second lactation period and then decreased in subsequent periods. The peak of the first lactation period was reached longer, then falls in the second lactation period and then increases again at the following lactation period
