Abstract

In this investigation, the currents in Eastern Indonesian region are simulated by using the equations of motion (Navier-Stokes Equation). These equations are solved by the Hamburg Shelf Ocean Model (HAMSOM). Two cases are carried out, i.e. in the condition of west monsoon (February 1994) and east monsoon (August 1994). The simulation results are discussed for surface current, currents at 100-200 m, and the bottom current. In general, the results obtained agrees well with the work of Wyrtki, 1961 and Ahmat et al., 1995, but less with the work of Gordon and McClean, 1999.

Abstract

The simulation of Bay of Bengal (included Andaman Sea) has been done. This investigation used equation of motion (Navier-Stokes equation).  The equation of motion was solved by means of Hamburg Shelf Ocean Model (HAMSOM). The analysis is done for the year of 2007. The National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) data for year of 2007 is used to force the Bay of Bengal.  The sea surface temperature (SST) and sea surface salinity (SSS) have been obtained and analyzed. The highest SST occurs in April 2007, while the lowest SST occurs in October 2007. The pattern of SST depends on the wind vector. From January untill June 2007, the SSS pattern is a west-east pattern. The SSS value is lower in the east and higher in the west. From July untill December, the higher value of SSS is generally in the middle of the Bay of Bengal. Generally, the value of SSS is higher in July and August, while in December and January the value of SSS is lower. Some results have been compared and consistent with the study of Vinayachandran dan Kurian (2008) and Vinayachandran and Yamagata (1998).

Abstract

Abstract: Banda Aceh can be categorized as an earthquake-prone city because of the existence of two active segments namely Seulimeum and Aceh. Both segments are considered to provide great potential damage in the future. In this article, we conduct a microtremor survey in the Peukan Bada, sub-part of Banda Aceh city, to learn the vulnerability level and support disaster mitigation plan. A total of 20 sites were measured with a seismometer to record the seismic waveform. The waveform was recorded in 45 minutes with a sampling rate of 100 sps and has analyzed using the horizontal-vertical spectrum ratio (HVSR). The results obtained are the dominant parameters, such as the period with a range of 0 – 0.5s, frequency with a range of 0 – 6 Hz, seismicity vulnerability index with a range of 0.1 – 0.5. The result was relevant to the geological conditions of Peukan Bada that dominated by alluvial rocks and mud sediments. The level of vulnerability (Kg > 1.0) obtained is quite high and proportional to the soil type that can amplify the seismic waveform. The results obtained are expected to be a supporting study of disaster mitigation and understand the geological conditions of Banda Aceh in terms of seismic vulnerability.Abstrak: Banda Aceh dapat dikategorikan sebagai kota rawan gempa karena adanya dua segmen aktif yaitu Seulimeum dan Aceh. Kedua segmen tersebut bisa memberikan potensi kerusakan yang besar di masa mendatang. Pada tulisan ini, kami melakukan survei mikrotremor di Kecamatan Peukan Bada, salah satu sub-wilayah kota Banda Aceh, untuk mempelajari tingkat kerentanan dan mendukung rencana mitigasi bencana. Sebanyak 20 lokasi diukur dengan seismometer untuk merekam bentuk gelombang seismik. Gelombang direkam selama 45 menit dengan jumlah sampel 100 sps dan dianalisis menggunakan horizontal-vertical spectrum ratio (HVSR). Hasil yang diperoleh adalah parameter yang dominan yaitu periode dengan rentang 0 – 0,5s, frekuensi dengan range 0 - 6 Hz, indeks kerentanan kegempaan dengan rentang 0,1 – 0,5. Hasil tersebut relevan dengan kondisi geologi Peukan Bada yang didominasi oleh batuan aluvial dan endapan lumpur. Tingkat kerentanan (Kg > 1,0) yang diperoleh cukup tinggi dan sebanding dengan jenis tanah yang dapat memperbesar gelombang seismik. Hasil yang diperoleh diharapkan dapat menjadi pendukung kajian mitigasi bencana dan memahami kondisi geologi Banda Aceh dari segi kerentanan seismik.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian pendampingan sertifkasi halal pada produk olahan perikanan penting dilakukan untuk meningkatkan nilai produk dan menambah daya tarik konsumen. Tujuan pengabdian ini untuk memfasilitasi pelaku usaha memperoleh Sertifikat Halal atas produk yang dihasilkan dan dipasarkan. Dengan menerapkan metode RRA (Rapid Rural Apraisal) dimana pengabdi dan pelaku usaha serta stakeholder secara bersama-sama berkolaborasi untuk memberikan pera masing-masing yang dibagi kedalam empat tahapan yaitu pemetaan desa sasaran, analisis situasi, alternatif pemecahan masalah, dan pelibatan pihak terkait serta peran yang diharapkan. Hasil pengadian yang diharapkan telah berhasil dengan baik ditandai dengan telah diterbitkannya Sertifikat Halal kepada pelaku usaha olahan perikanan yang didampingi pengabdi oleh LPPOM MPU Aceh sekaligus hasil ini dalam rangka mendukung Industri Halal di Kota Banda Aceh.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain a description of the scientific literacy ability of IPA (natural sciences) teachers. This study is descriptive research. Data was collected by distributing diagnostic test instruments distributed to 29 teachers who were selected as a sample of the total population of science teachers teaching at SMPN (public junior high school) throughout Banda Aceh. The test instrument used in the form of Four-Tier Multiple Choice questions as many as 24 items equipped with CRI confidence level scale along with the reasons for the answer choices. The scientific literacy competency aspect used is in accordance with the 2017 PISA determination which includes 3 aspects, namely the competence aspect to explain phenomena scientifically, the competence aspect to design and evaluate scientific investigations, and the competence aspect to interpret data and evidence scientifically. The results showed that the scientific literacy ability of science teachers at SMPN in Banda Aceh was in the medium category with a percentage of 48.48%. The ability based on competence to explain phenomena scientifically is in the medium category with a percentage of 46.55%, the competence to design and evaluate scientific investigations is in the medium category with a percentage of 61.64% and the competence to interpret data and evidence scientifically is in the medium category as well with a percentage of 37.24%. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that science teachers at public junior high schools in Banda Aceh have moderate scientific literacy skills. Abstract

This study aims to determine the structure and composition of insects in the swamp water of Jungkal Ogan Ilir on South Sumatera province, in  June to September 2012. Identification of aquatic insects in the Laboratory of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences University of PGRI Palembang. The results showed the relative density , relative frequency , relative dominance at station 1 ( Kumpai copper ) is Pelocoris femoratus and station 2 ( Lotus ) is Parapoyonx sp. Insects are the most dominant with the highest importance value index station 1 is  Pelocoris femoratus, station 2 Parapoyonx sp . While the insect species diversity index of water at station 1 of 2.02,  at station 2 of 1.25 and index between stations by 46 %. Key words : Insects water , lebak swamp deling, structure , composition

Abstract

Investigation on lethal effect of leaf Mindi (Melia azedarach L.) to mortality of maize weevil (Sitophilus zeamais M.) was conducted on  October 2012 in Laboratory of Biology Faculty of Mathematics University of PGRI Palembang.  Acute toxicity test using the maize weevil bioassay method with a time of 96 hours of application.The results shows that leaf of Mindi (Melia azedarach L.) were toxic  to maize weevil (Sitophilus zeamais M) with 24 h, 48 h and 96 h LC50 were  29,50%, 21,42%, and 18,0% respectively. Key words: Acute toxicity, Melia azedarach L., Sitophilus zeamais M

To death army worm larvae (Spodoptera litura F.) was conducted in August 2013 at the Forestry Research Institute  Palembang. Abstract

ABSTRACTResearch on the diversity of predatory ants (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) of land surface in oil palm plantations SPPN Sembawa Banyuasin conducted in November to December 2010. This research used the temple of traps. Identification results of research conducted at the Laboratory of Biology Department Faculty of Mathematics and Science University of PGRI Palembang and Faculty Tarbiyah State IslamicInstitute Raden Fatah Palembang. The results obtained ant predators comprised 546 individuals from 10 species, 9 genera, and 3 subfamilia. The dominant species in oil palm plantations before harvest is Leptogenys longesis, whereas in oil palm plantations after harvesting is Odoontomachus sp. Predatory ant community diversity index on oil palm plantations before harvest is 2,087, whereas after harvest 1, 372,both growing areas were categorized to have diversity index was. Peradator ant community similarity index on oil palm plantations before mand after harvest by 75%.Key words: diversity, predatory, ants, palm plantations, community similarity

Abstract

ABSTRACTResearch on the diversity of predatory arboreal ants (Hymenoptera:Formicidae) in oil palm plantations SPPN Sembawa Banyuasin conducted in September to October 2010. This research used the temple of traps. Identification results of research conducted at the Laboratory Department of Biology Faculty of Mathematics and Science University of PGRI Palembang and the Faculty Tarbiyah State Islamic Institute Raden Fatah Palembang. The results obtained by 349 individuals, consisting of 7 species, 5 genera, and 3 subfamilia. Species that have a relative density and the highest relative frequency of either catching the morning andlate afternoon is Oeccophylla sp 1. Diversity of predatory arboreal ants index gained on oil palm plantations in the capture of the morning was 1.054, while the afternoon was 1.038. Community similarity index gained 83%, predatory arboreal ants community showed 83% caught in the morning, also caught in the afternoon.Key words: diversity, ants predatory, arboreal, community similarity
