Abstract

This research aims to describe the implementation stages of individual counseling using a behavioral approach for perpetrators of sexual violence at the UPTD PKS Insan Berguna, Lampung Province Social Service. Children involved in sexual violence need a more advanced approach, such as through guidance and counseling that focuses on recovery. Individual counseling is effective because it involves direct interaction between the counselor and the client, allowing the counselor to pay more in-depth attention to the problems faced by the client. The method used in this research is a field research method. Data collection techniques in this research used observation, interviews and documentation. The results obtained in this research show that individual counseling with a behavioral approach has an effect on changing clients' good behavior. The main focus of this research is to describe the behavior patterns of these children, as well as the changes that occur in the rehabilitation process carried out at that place. Researchers also try to explain how a counseling process based on a behavioral approach can help these children identify and change their behavior patterns to be more positive. And clients are starting to realize the impact of their bad habits and are actively working to change them. After attending this counseling, the three clients realized their mistakes and will now try to change for the better. Individual counseling with a behavioral approach shows effectiveness in dealing with behavioral problems, but also emphasizes that self-awareness is an important first step in efforts to improve lifestyle. Furthermore, the behavioral changes achieved by clients during the counseling process provide hope that this kind of intervention can contribute to a sustainable improvement in their quality of life.

Abstract

This study explores a growing challenge in education Generation Z students who exhibit academic buoyancy without demonstrating responsibility or acknowledging academic shortcomings. Using a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews, the research uncovers a prevalent “Not My Fault” mindset: students maintain confidence and motivation despite academic underperformance while externalizing blame and lacking self-awareness. The findings reveal that peer influence, digital culture, and a surface-level academic environment contribute to the illusion of resilience. These students often equate confidence with competence, masking deeper issues of disengagement and poor self-regulation. The study also highlights the role of educational culture in reinforcing passive learning attitudes, where critical thinking and self-reflection are rarely emphasized. This paradox presents an emerging and urgent challenge for educators: how to develop future-ready learners who are not only confident, but also critically aware and accountable for their growth. The insights from this research can inform the design of more adaptive, values-based educational strategies to support both emotional development and authentic academic progress.

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral interventions in developing academic buoyancy among students, defined as their capacity to overcome daily academic challenges such as stress, time pressure, and minor failures. Using a meta-analytic approach, the research synthesizes findings from 15 independent studies involving 4,509 participants across diverse educational contexts, including the United States, Canada, Iran, and the United Kingdom. The random effects model revealed a significant positive correlation between mindfulness interventions and academic buoyancy, with a high effect size. The findings underscore the potential of mindfulness integrated with cognitive behavioral therapy to enhance students' resilience by reducing stress and improving executive functions such as emotional regulation, attention, and decision-making. Despite its demonstrated effectiveness, heterogeneity in study designs, intervention durations, and measurement tools suggests the need for further research to refine and standardize these interventions. This study provides evidence-based insights for educators and counselors aiming to integrate mindfulness practices into academic settings, contributing to the broader discourse on mental health and educational resilience.

Abstract

The development of optimal cognition is an important factor in student learning and personal development. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of counseling services using a Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) approach in optimizing students' cognitive development. A comprehensive search was conducted using the Taylor & Francis, ScienceDirect, Mendeley, and Google Scholar databases, yielding a total of 70 results. From this number, 20 articles met the exclusion criteria and were deemed feasible, with 13 final studies selected based on the established inclusion criteria. The results of the random effects analysis show a significant positive relationship between the Cognitive Behavior Therapy approach and students’ cognitive development (z = 4.083, p < .001). Abstract

The global Muslim community faces challenges in achieving well-being goals. Self-efficacy is key to encouraging active participation and empowerment, but studies examining the effectiveness of Islamic counseling in improving self-efficacy are limited. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of an Islamic counseling intervention in improving self-efficacy in the Muslim community. Using a quantitative approach with a two-group pretest-posttest design, 130 participants aged 18-45 years were divided into experimental and control groups. The intervention consisted of four group sessions, which integrate Islamic values such as tawakal and ikhtiar, reflection on Qur'anic verses, as well as modern psychological techniques such as cognitive restructuring and directed imagination. The three dimensions of self-efficacy based on Bandura's theory—level, generality, and strength—were measured using a validated questionnaire. Two-Way ANOVA analysis showed that the experimental group significantly improved on all three dimensions compared to the control group (p < 0.001), while the effects of age and age versus group interaction were not significant. Post-hoc results strengthened the differences between subgroups. The findings support the effectiveness of Islamic counseling as a values-based approach capable of strengthening self-efficacy across ages and backgrounds. This study makes a theoretical contribution by integrating Islamic spirituality into Bandura's self-efficacy framework, while offering a practical intervention model that can be applied in the mental strengthening of Muslim communities. This research shows that Islamic counseling has potential as an evidence-based approach that is relevant, contextual, and adaptive to the psychological needs of the ummah in the modern era.
