Abstract

This research is significant to fill the gaps in the development of green building concepts that give an emphasis to the technical strategies or solutions. This study used the thematic Quranic interpretation method (maudhu'i). It was done by collecting verses from the Quran related to the environment in general, specifically using quantitative content analysis. The result shows that there are two significant main categories stated for greenship based on thematic, mainly ASD and WAC. It reaches the most vital points. It is 56.1% points of ASD and 28.5% of WAC. It is expected that, by applying this approach, the green building concept will be much easier to be accepted, understood by human being as caliphs, and implemented as well as possible.

Abstract

Various sectors have undergone changes and developments with the existence of technology. One of the sectors affected by the development of the technology industry is the construction sector. The construction sector is experiencing slow growth compared to other sectors. The construction industry in Indonesia is still influenced by using quite a lot of human labor. One of the technologies in the construction industry is 3D construction printing. This technology is claimed to build houses faster, cheaper, and more efficiently. The community as a market and players from the construction sector take an essential part so that development using this technology becomes right on target, especially in the construction of residential houses for the community. The purpose of this study is to find out people's preferences regarding the existence of 3d construction printing technology for residential construction to open the potential for alternative house construction methods other than conventional methods. The research method is carried out using a qualitative approach. The data collection method uses an open-ended online questionnaire and is distributed freely (non-random sampling). This research also showed what kind of community category that interested in building their home using this technology. The collected data was then analyzed qualitatively through content analysis using the JMP program. The results showed categories of public opinion regarding using 3D construction printing technology as a house construction method, including Impressive, Sustainability, Innovation, Effectiveness, Inexperienced, Usefulness, Efficiency, Complexity, High construction costs, and Quality Test.Furthermore, regarding people's preferences for using 3D Construction Printing to build their homes, 41% said yes, 41% said maybe, and 16% said no. This shows that this technology is mainly accepted by the public but due to a lack of understanding, research, and knowledge, so that many answers as possible. The community category most interested in using this technology to build their homes are people with a monthly income of around 3-6 million rupiah, and the occupation is government employees and entrepreneurs with the same percentage of 0,6 as other occupations below 0,5. The categories are inexperienced and usefulness. The results of this study are expected to be a consideration for stakeholders in building houses using the 3D construction printing method that can be used for residential homes in Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Vernacular architecture in Indonesia exhibits notable diversity, encompassing various forms of traditional residential vernacular architecture. Among these architectural styles, the Bugis house is particularly noteworthy. The Bugis tribe, originally residing on the island of Sulawesi, has witnessed a considerable migration of its members to other regions and islands. In these new locales, they have erected vernacular houses that bear resemblances to the traditional dwellings found in South Sulawesi. However, differences emerge between the vernacular residences of the Bugis Tribe in South Sulawesi and those in Kemujan Village, Karimunjawa. These discrepancies are a result of the Bugis tribe's adaptation to natural and environmental conditions. This research endeavor aims to discern the disparities between the vernacular houses of the Bugis tribe on Sulawesi Island and those on Karimunjawa Island. It also seeks to ascertain the extent of the transformation and the underlying causes of this residential adaptation. A primary focus of this study is to investigate the distinctions in the physical attributes of Bugis houses in Kemujan Village, Karimunjawa, and South Sulawesi. The research methodology employed here is a qualitative descriptive approach, with samples selected using a purposive sampling technique. The findings of this research illuminate several variations in the physical characteristics of Bugis house structures in Kemujan Village, Karimunjawa, and South Sulawesi. These distinctions encompass architectural facades, spatial arrangements, structural and construction patterns, material selection, and floor elevations, all of which collectively contribute to the unique identity of Bugis houses. Keywords: bugis house, physical charateristics, kemujan village, south sulawesi.

Abstract

Environmental challenges stemming from the escalating volume of waste necessitate innovative solutions, one of which involves utilizing waste as a raw material for building materials. However, prevailing research in this domain has predominantly concentrated on their characteristics/performances, with a notable dearth in discussions pertaining to consumer-centric aspects. The objective of this research is to examine public responses, comprehension levels, and considerations associated with the utilization of waste-derived materials. Therefore, the development of waste-derived materials can be facilitated towards mass production. Employing qualitative research methods, this research unveils misconceptions surrounding waste-derived materials, as well as the readiness and the consideration aspects, such as material characteristic/performance, sustainability, economic factors, aesthetics, functionality, availability, and knowledge. The findings are anticipated to contribute insights for decision-making processes, policy formulation, and industrial practices, fostering the informed integration of waste-derived materials in the construction and related sectors.
