Abstract

Antioxidant is an essential compound to keep man’s health due to its function as radical scavenging. Curcumin analog  compounds can function as antioxidant (Sardjiman, 2000). The aim of the experiment was to find out the antioxidant activity of 2,.6-bis-(2’-furilidin)-cyclohexanone, 2,.5-bis-(2’furilidin)-cyclopentanone, and 1,.5-difuril-1.4-pentadien-3-one compounds, and the antioxidant activity of each compound against DPPH  radical with IC50 parameter as well as the correlation of compounds structure’s activities against antioxidant.  The antioxidant activity of curcumin analog compounds wereas tested against DPPH free  radical. The test was conducted in 5 series of concentrations by adding 4.0  ml test solutions with 1.0 ml DPPH. The antioxidant activity against free radical was measured usingwith spectrophotometer at 517 nm wavelength and determined for the IC50 value. The experiment employed rutin as positive control. The result of the experiment showed that curcumin analog compounds have antioxidant  activity with IC50 of rutin, 2,.6-bis-(2’-furilidin)-cyclohexanone, 2,.5-bis-(2’furilidin)-cyclopentanone, and 1,.5-difuril-1.4-pentadien-3-one as follows: 4.93 ppm, 22.73 ppm, 20.67 ppm, and 18.80 ppm  respectively. The highest antioxidant activity belonged to  1,.5-difuril-1.4-pentadien-3-one compound which is 18.80 ppm . Correlation of activity structure of the 3 compounds can be seen from the log p parameter and energy space of HOMO-LUMO.

Abstract

ABSTRACT           The Ngampon people in Mojosongo Village, Jebres, Surakarta City face diverse livelihood problems, most of which are factory workers with low income levels and the role of mothers as housewives. Therefore, it is necessary to have training activities to make agar agar fruit products as an alternative home-based home industry to increase family income.          This community service activity was designed by conducting training on making fruit jelly candy products.          The target of the above activities is that the community will get additional skills in making agar-agar candy fruit that can be done easily and small capital so that it can be an alternative family home industry. Keywords: Fruit, jelly candy, home industry

Abstract

Putri Malu (Mimosa pudica Linn.) and Salam (Syzygium polyanthum) contain flavonoid that have antioxidant activity. This study aims to determine the effect of variations of tween 80 and span 80 on the physical quality of the cream and to determine the antioxidant activity of the combination cream of Putri Malu and Salam leaves. The study used the extracts of Putri Malu and Salam leaves which were macerated with ethyl acetate. The cream was made in 6 formulas with variations of emulsifier tween 80 3%, 4% and 5% and span 80 7%, 6% and 5%. Antioxidant cream was tested for physical quality and antioxidant activity and then analyzed by SPSS method. Based on statistics, variations in the concentration of tween 80 and span 80 affect the physical quality and stability of the combination cream of Putri Malu and Salam leaves extracts. The combination cream has antioxidant activity that is in the weak category. The formula with 3% tween 80 and 7% span 80 concentration had the best physical quality and the cream formula with 3% and 7%, 4% and 6%, and 5% and 5% concentration respectively had the best antioxidant activity which was not significantly different from the positive control cream.

Abstract

Secondary metabolite like phenolic compounds found in kersen leaves have function to bind free radical. Emulgel is a preparation that is not greasy, spreads evenly, soft, and long lasting on storage. The objective of this study was to determine the physical quality of emulgel of kersen leave ethanol extract with various concentrations of carbopol 940, to determine the potential and effective concentration of carbopol 940 in emulgel of kersen leave ethanol extract as a sunscreen. This study used several formula with various concentration of carbopol 940 which is 1, 1.5, and 2%. Physical quality testing include organoleptic, homogeneity, spreading power test, adhesion test, pH test, and viscosity test. Determination of Sun Protecting Factor (SPF) value was carried out in vitro using UV-Vis spectrophotometry and Mansyur Calculation. The results obtained showed that emulgel of kersen leave ethanol extract with variations of the gelling agent carbopol 940 was stable for 21 days on storage and have activity as a sunscreen. Emulgel of kersen leave ethanol extract (Muntingia calabura L.) 1% concentration of carbopol 940 is the most effective as a sunscreen preparation with 25,42 SPF value which categories ultra protection.Keywords: kersen leave ethanol estrak, emulgel, sunscreen, SPF.

Abstract

Technological developments, especially in the Society 5.0, offer connectivity between humans, machines and the environment, enabling intelligent and adaptive systems. Augmented Reality (AR) based learning media has great potential in bringing more interactive and effective learning. Unfortunately, the use of augmented reality (AR) in learning is usually limited to the form of flash cards or modules. An innovative utilization of AR-based learning media in social media platforms is expected to create an inclusive and attractive learning environment for the digital generation. This study aims to review scientifically the role of augmented reality-based learning media in media sosial. The benefit of this research is to assist stakeholders in the field of education in utilizing AR technology and integrate it with media sosial platforms to create an inclusive, accessible and attractive learning environment for the current digital generation. The research method used is the library research method or commonly known as Library Research. Data collection techniques use secondary data, in the form of documentation, existing research results, supporting books and articles. This study was compiled by the researcher using a mix of up-to-date and relevant books and journals chosen by the researcher. The results of the study show that the integration of Augmented Reality (AR) technology as a learning medium with social media such as Instagram shows positive and effective results. Some filters that already use this technology can increase the motivation, interest and curiosity of learners. The learning target can also be wider, because it can be accessed by anyone, anytime, and anywhere with the support of adequate camera and smartphone specifications. The use of AR also does not limit what lessons will be covered, depending on the learning designer. ABSTRAKPerkembangan teknologi terutama era Society 5.0 menawarkan konektivitas antara manusia, mesin, dan lingkungan, memungkinkan sistem yang cerdas dan adaptif. Media pembelajaran berbasis Augmented Reality (AR) memiliki potensi besar dalam membawa pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif dan efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meninjau secara ilmiah peranan media pembelajaran berbasis augmented reality dalam media sosial. Manfaat dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk membantu pihak-pihak yang berkepentingan dalam pendidikan dalam memanfaatkan teknologi AR dan memadukannya dengan platform media sosial untuk menciptakan lingkungan pembelajaran yang inklusif, aksesibel, dan menarik bagi generasi digital saat ini. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode riset pustaka atau yang biasa dikenal dengan Library Research. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan data sekunder, yang berupa dokumentasi, hasil-hasil penelitian yang sudah ada, buku dan artikel yang mendukung. Penelitian ini disusun oleh peneliti menggunakan perpaduan antara buku dan jurnal yang  uptodate dan relevan pilihan peneliti. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemaduan teknologi Augmented Reality (AR) sebagai media pembelajaran dengan media sosial seperti instagram, menunjukkan hasil yang positif dan efektif. Beberapa filter yang sudah menggunakan teknologi ini dapat meningkatkan motivasi, minat dan rasa keingintahuan yang lebih dari peserta didik. Sasaran pembelajarannya pun bisa lebih luas, karena dapat diakses oleh siapapun, kapanpun, dan dimanapun dengan di support oleh kamera dan spesifikasi smartphone yang memadai. Penggunaan AR ini juga tidak membatasi pelajaran apa yang akan dibahas, bergantung pada pendesain pembelajaran tersebut

Abstract

Masalah yang sering dihadapi oleh peserta didik sekolah minggu Buddha Vihara Dhamma Guna di Desa Sampetan adalah kurangnya daya ingat peserta didik. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, salah satu metode yang diterapkan untuk meningkatkan daya ingat yaitu metode belajar bernyanyi lagu Buddhis. Tujuan dilakukan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh metode belajar bernyanyi lagu Buddhis terhadap peningkatan daya ingat peserta didik Sekolah Minggu Vihara Dhamma Guna di Desa Sampetan. Dalam penelitian ini, digunakan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode pre-experimental design one-group pretest-posttest. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini menggunakan teknik observasi dengan instrumen angket tertutup. Jenis validitas yang digunakan adalah validitas construk dengan rumus korelasi product moment . Hasil sebelum perlakuan (pretest) dan setelah perlakuan (posttest) diuji menggunakan uji t-test. Keadaan sebelum perlakuan (pretest) rata-rata peningkatan daya ingat sebesar 49% setelah perlakuan (posttest) meningkat menjadi 17% menjadi 66%. hasil penelitian dalam perhitungan t-test diperoleh Nilai Sig (tailed) yang di peroleh sebesar 0,000<0,05 maka, ho dinyatakan ditolak kemudian ha diterima, menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara sebelum (posttest) dan setelah (posttest) diberi perlakuan. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa terbukti ada pengaruh Metode belajar bernyanyi lagu Buddhis untuk meningkatkan daya ingat peserta didik sekolah minggu Buddha Vihara Dhamma Guna Desa Sampetan Tahun 2022/2023. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, metode belajar bernyanyi dapat diterapkan di sekolah formal maupun nonformal untuk membantu meningkatkan daya ingat peserta didik.

Abstract

The Lavender and Grass oil Aromatherapy Making Training is a Community Service project to disseminate relevant knowledge and technology that is easy to use. In addition, it provides value by improving skills and motivate to establish a home industry in the pursuit of a small business. A USB Pharmacy lecturer conducted this program for people of the Genengan community, located at RT 08 RW 12, Mojosongo Village, Jebres Sub-district, Surakarta City. Oils from Lemongrass and Lavender Herbs are used in aromatherapy making training. These organic components have not yet been utilized by community members or locals to produce aromatherapy that is beneficial to their health. Typically, pharmacies charge relatively high costs for products that include aromatherapy. It is envisaged that the Geneng community's training in aromatherapy production will boost the village's added value. Making products for aromatherapy using lavender and lemongrass is one of the projects that has the potential to be used as a home industry activity.

Abstract

Masyarakat Karangturi desa Triyagan, Kecamatan Mojolaban, Kabupaten Sukoharjo masih memerlukan pelatihan untuk meningkatan perawatan serta kesehatan keluarga terutama menggunakan bahan tradisional yang mudah didapatkan dan menciptakan motivasi perintisan home indutri dalam upaya peningkatan kewirausahaan dan perekonomian warga. Maka dari itu diperlukan adanya kegiatan penyuluhan dan pelatihan pembuatan Natural Herbal Soap. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dirancang dalam dua kegiatan, yaitu: Pertama, penyuluhan tentang peran bahan alami tradisional dalam kesehatan. Kedua, pelatihan pembuatan Natural Herbal Soap dari campuran antara minyak (minyak zaitun dan minyak kelapa) dengan larutan alkali (NaOH) sehingga membentuk padatan yang mengental yang disebut trace, kemudian ditambahkan minyak essensial (greentea, chamomile, sereh) secukupnya dan dihomogenkan lalu dibiarkan memadat. Target serta objek dari kegiatan ini adalah masyarakat akan mendapat tambahan keterampilan membuat Natural Herbal Soap yang dapat dilakukan dengan mudah dan dengan modal kecil sehingga dapat sebagai salah satu alternatif peningkatan kewirausahaan keluarga dan juga dapat digunakan untuk peningkatan kesehatan keluarga sehari-hari.

Abstract

Red dragon plant (Hylocereus polyrhizus) and green tea (Camellia Sinensis L.) are plants that have benefits as antioxidants. Antioxidant compounds are able to reduce free radicals so that they become harmless substances. The purpose of this study was to determine the potential antioxidant activity of the combination of green tea leaves and red dragon fruit peels by making three comparisons, namely 1:1, 1:2, 2:1. Extraction was carried out by maceration using 96% ethanol solvent to obtain a thick extract. The extract was subjected to phytochemical screening, then the viscous extract was made into 3 combination variations, namely 1:1, 1:2, and 2:1. In testing the antioxidant activity using the DPPH method spectrophotometrically. The results of data on the percentage of antioxidant activity were tatistically analyzed using SPSS with the one way ANOVA method. The research results show that the combination of green tea leaves and red dragon skin has strong antioxidant activity. The IC50 value at a 1:1 ratio is 13.25 ppm, at a 1:2 ratio is 12.15 ppm, and at a 2:1 ratio is 11.40 ppm. The 2:1 ratio is the strongest combination.

Abstract

Red rice bran (Oryza rufipogon Griff.) is rich in natural antioxidants, including flavonoids, phenolics, and anthocyanins, which offer potential benefits for topical skin care. This study aimed to formulate a sleeping mask containing red rice bran extract using Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC) as a gelling agent and to evaluate its physical characteristics and antioxidant activity. Three formulations were prepared with HPMC concentrations of 5%, 7%, and 9%, in addition to positive and negative controls. The extract was obtained by maceration using 40% acetone. Each formulation was evaluated for organoleptic properties, pH, homogeneity, spreadability, adhesiveness, viscosity, and stability, while antioxidant activity was assessed using the ABTS assay. Results showed that the 5% HPMC formula demonstrated optimal physical qualities (pH 6.02 ± 0.03, viscosity 25,253 ± 122.20 cP, spreadability 4.59 ± 0.12 cm, adhesiveness 2.89 ± 0.28 s), remained stable during storage, and exhibited 32% antioxidant inhibition at 60 ppm. This suggests that the red rice bran sleeping mask with 5% HPMC is a promising formulation for further development as a natural antioxidant-based skincare product.
