Abstract

Centella asiatica L., or known as pegagan leaf, empirically can be used as a tonic for organs such as liver, kidneys and brain. It also can increase memory. In our society, Centella asiatica L., hasnâ??t been optimally processed as atonic. Commonly, it is processed by boiling or grating the leaf. Raw consumption of this leaf inflicts bad taste. The aim of this research is to find out tonic effect and determine the effective dose of herbal syrup Centella asiatica L. The effect of tonic can be determined using natatory exhaustion method, by observing stimulant effect of a certain drug to an animal.Methods : This research used male mice were divided into 5 groups of treatment. The first group: negative control without herbal syrup Centella asiatica L., substance, positive control 50 mg/kg body weight, first dose group 120 mg/kg miceâ??s body weight, second dose group 150 mg/kg miceâ??s body weight and third dose group 180 mg/kg miceâ??s body weight. The effect of tonic was observed through the increasing duration of the miceâ??s self-defense ability when it was swum.Result: This research resulted that the use of herbal syrup Centella asiatica L., gave tonic effect on dose 120 mg/kg miceâ??s body weight, 150 mg/kg miceâ??s body weight, and 180 mg/kg miceâ??s body weight. The most effective dose of the use of herbal syrup Centella asiatica L., is on dose 180 mg/kg miceâ??s body weight.

Abstract

Kaptopril merupakan obat antihipertensi dan efektif pada penanganan gagal jantung, memiliki waktu paruh yang pendek dan indeks terapi yang sempit. Formulasi tablet floating kaptopril diharapkan mengurangi frekuensi pemberian obat dan mengurangi fluktuasi konsentrasi obat dalam darah. Formulasi tablet floating kaptopril dibuat menggunakan matriks hidroksipropil metilselulosa K15M dan komponen effervescent. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh matriks hidroksipropil metilselulosa K15M dan komponen effervescent terhadap sifat fisik tablet serta mengetahui proporsi formula optimum tablet floating kaptopril. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode d-optimal design dengan lima formula. Respon yang diukur dari formulaformula tersebut meliputi waktu alir, sudut diam, keseragaman bobot, kekerasan tablet, kerapuhan tablet, floating time tablet dan disolusi tablet yang digunakan sebagai parameter untuk menentukan formula optimum. Penggunaan hidroksipropil metilselulosa K15M sebagai matriks dan komponen effervescent pada berbagai konsentrasi berpengaruh terhadap sifat fisik granul dan sifat fisik tablet dan profil disolusinya. Kombinasi hidroksipropil metilselulosa K15M sebagai matriks dan komponen effervescent dengan perbandingan 105 mg : 110 mg dapat membentuk tablet floating kaptopril dengan sifat fisik tablet yang optimum sesuai dengan metode d-optimal design.

Abstract

Famotidin digunakan sebagai obat tukak duodenum dan tukak lambung, sehingga cocok dibuat sediaan Orally Disintegrating Tablet (ODT). ODT memiliki karakteristik yang cepat terdisintegrasi di dalam rongga mulut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah famotidin dapat dibuat sediaan ODT, pengaruh superdisintegrant starch 1500 dan crospovidone terhadap mutu fisik sediaan, dan konsentrasi superdisintegrant starch 1500 dan crospovidone sehingga diperoleh ODT famotidin dengan waktu hancur yang cepat. Penelitian ini memformulasikan ODT famotidin dengan superdisintegrant starch 1500 7%, kombinasi superdisintegrant starch 1500 dan crospovidone 3%:4%, dan menggunakan superdisintegrant crospovidone 7%. Pembuatan ODT famotidin menggunakan metode kempa langsung. Pengujian yang dilakukan untuk mengetahui mutu fisik ODT famotidin adalah keseragaman bobot, ukuran, kekerasan, kerapuhan, waktu pembasahan, waktu hancur, keragaman kandungan, uji tanggap rasa, uji waktu hancur in vivo kemudian hasil dianalis menggunakan uji statistik SPSS Statistics versi 23. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa famotidin dapat dibuat sediaan ODT, superdisintegrant starch 1500 dan crospovidone berpengaruh terhadap mutu fisik sediaan dan kombinasi superdisintegrant starch 1500 dan crospovidone 3%:4% menghasilkan waktu hancur cepat yaitu 34,30 detik. Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is a disease with a very high prevalence in Indonesia. Clinical trials of drugs isoniazid and rifampicin have known most active in combating tuberculosis in the lungs. Side effects caused by administration of OAD (anti-tuberculosis drugs) one of them is a liver function disorders characterized by elevated levels of serum bilirubin. This study aimed to determine the activity of a decrease in serum bilirubin levels in rats induced after administration of isoniazid and rifampin combination of ethanol extract of mangosteen peel and papaya leaf. Serum bilirubin measurement method using a spectrophotometer, the bilirubin level is expressed in mg / dl. Data were analyzed using Kruskal-Wallis method shows that there was a significant difference between the treatment groups (p <0.05), while between the time measurements showed no significant difference. A combination of ethanol extract of papaya dose of 120 mg / 200 g BW rat, and the ethanol extract of mangosteen peel dose of 160 mg / 200 g rat BW the most effective of all treatment groups in lowering levels of bilirubin in isoniazid and rifampicin induced rat.

Abstract

Gendola herbal syrup is a solution in the form of syrup containing gendola as an active substance that is dissolved in the syrup component. Gendola syrup has a high betalain antioxidant content, and is beneficial for improving health. Betalain antioxidant content is easily damaged due to the influence of air, humidity, and temperature, causing the red color of the gendola to fade. The implementation of this project aimed to help improve the quality of Gendola syrup and provide training to partners so that they were able to market Gendola syrup products online. This project was implemented in productive community groups, UDHerba Puspitasari in Mlandangan Rt 02 Rw 08, Mandan Village, Sukoharjo District Sukoharjo Regency to make them able to produce and market herbal processed products. Based on observations of the results achieved, our partners were able to produce herbal syrup, although it was still limited, the quality was not good, and it did not yield profits. The methods implemented in this program included: 1) provide training for making Gendola syrup with encapsulation methods; 2) provide equipment that can support the production process; 3) provide online marketing training. The results obtained in this community-service activity contributed siqnificantly to UD Herba Puspitasari in their efforts of producing high-quality Gendola syrup and marketing the products online.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe professional development of the teachers through the writing of scientific papers needs to be improved. The obstacle faced by teachers so they did not write scientific paper mainly are caused by limitation of time and not understanding the rules of writing a scientific paper. This devotional activity aims to improve  teachers' motivation to write scientific papers and improve the ability for the teachers to write scientific papers to produce as many articles as published in scientific journals. The method used is situational analysis by interviewing the principal and distributing questionnaires. Furthermore, the preparation of materials, lectures and discussions, as well as accompaniment of scientific writing until the participants successfully publish their articles in scientific journalsKeywords: quality improvement, scientific papers, teachers ABSTRAKPengembangan profesionalitas guru melalui penulisan karya ilmiah perlu ditingkatkan. Kendala yang dihadapi guru sehingga tidak menulis karya ilmiah terutama adalah belum ada waktu dan belum paham aturan penulisan karya ilmiah. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi guru menulis karya ilmiah dan  meningkatkan kemampuan guru menulis karya ilmiah hingga dihasilkan sebanyak mungkin artikel yang dipublikasikan di jurnal ilmiah. Metode yang dilakukan adalah analisis situasi dengan wawancara dengan kepala sekolah dan penyebaran kuesioner.  Selanjutnya dilakukan penyusunan materi, ceramah dan diskusi, serta pendampingan penulisan karya ilmiah hingga peserta berhasil menerbitkan artikelnya di jurnal ilmiah.KataKunci: guru, karya ilmiah, peningkatan kualitas

Abstract

Serum adalah sediaan dengan zat aktif yang mempunyai konsentrasi tinggi dan viskositas rendah, sehingga mudah diabsorbsi di permukaan kulit. Zat aktif alami yang dapat digunakan dalam formulasi serum yaitu Myricetin. Myricetin merupakan suatu flavonoid alami yang memiliki potensi sebagai antioksidan. Kekurangan dari suatu bahan obat yang berasal dari bahan alam salah satunya adalah biovailabilitas yang rendah.  Nanofitosom merupakan suatu sistem yang dapat meningkatkan permeabilitas sehingga dapat menembus membrane lipid sehingga bioavailabilitas obat dapat tercapai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah myricetin dapat dibuat nanofitosom dan dapat diformulasikan menjadi sediaan serum dengan mutu fisik yang baik. Myricetin dibuat nanofitosom dengan metode hidrasi lapis tipis-sonikasi dengan perbandingan myricetin (1): lipid fosfatidilkolin (2): kolesterol (0,4). Formula serum dibuat menjadi 3 formula dengan perbedaan konsentrasi xanthan gum yaitu FI (0,15%); FII (0,25%); FIII (0,35%). Formula serum yang telah dibuat dilakukan pengujian mutu fisik serum meliputi uji organoleptis,, homogenitas, pH dan viskositas. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dan dibandingkan dengan literatur yang ada. Hasil penelitian bahwa myricetin dapat dibuat nanofitosom dan diformulasikan menjadi sediaan serum dengan mutu fisik yang baik. Sediaan serum myricetin formula I, formula II, formula III berwarna kuning kecoklatan dan homogen. Ketiga formula memiliki pH 6,5 dan sesuai dengan pH normal kulit. Hasil uji viskositas formula I 165 dPas, formula II 175 dPas, dan formula III 190 dPas.Kata kunci: serum, myricetin, nanofitosom, mutu fisik sediaan

Abstract

Antioxidants are compounds that can reduce free radicals. Antioxidant compounds in the form of synthetic compounds and natural compounds. One of the plants with antioxidant activity is areca nut (Areca catechu L.). Areca seed extract contains secondary metabolites such as flavonoids, triterpenoids, tannins and has potential antioxidant activity. This study aims to determine the differences in PVA base concentration variations on the physical quality and stability tests of peel-off gel mask preparations and the antioxidant activity of piji areca nut (Areca catechu L.) extract.  This study used areca nut powder which was macerated using 96% ethanol. Areca seed extract is made into a formulation for peel-off gel masks using a PVA base with various concentrations of 10%, 12%, and 14%. Testing the physical quality of the gel peel-off mask preparations included organoleptic tests, homogeneity, pH, viscosity, spreadability, adhesion, dry time, and stability tests. Antioxidant testing of mask preparations was carried out using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 516 nm. The research results were analyzed using SPSS on the One Way ANOVA method and independent t test. The results showed that areca seed extract can be formulated into a gel peel-off mask preparation with good physical quality. Formula 2 is a gel peel-off mask preparation which has good physical quality. Antioxidant activity in formula 2 has an IC50 value of 71.789 ppm which is a strong antioxidant.

Abstract

Secondary metabolite like phenolic compounds found in kersen leaves have function to bind free radical. Emulgel is a preparation that is not greasy, spreads evenly, soft, and long lasting on storage. The objective of this study was to determine the physical quality of emulgel of kersen leave ethanol extract with various concentrations of carbopol 940, to determine the potential and effective concentration of carbopol 940 in emulgel of kersen leave ethanol extract as a sunscreen. This study used several formula with various concentration of carbopol 940 which is 1, 1.5, and 2%. Physical quality testing include organoleptic, homogeneity, spreading power test, adhesion test, pH test, and viscosity test. Determination of Sun Protecting Factor (SPF) value was carried out in vitro using UV-Vis spectrophotometry and Mansyur Calculation. The results obtained showed that emulgel of kersen leave ethanol extract with variations of the gelling agent carbopol 940 was stable for 21 days on storage and have activity as a sunscreen. Emulgel of kersen leave ethanol extract (Muntingia calabura L.) 1% concentration of carbopol 940 is the most effective as a sunscreen preparation with 25,42 SPF value which categories ultra protection.Keywords: kersen leave ethanol estrak, emulgel, sunscreen, SPF.

Abstract

Moringa leaves contain tannins, flavonoids, phenols, alkaloids and steroids as antibacterials. One of the causes of acne is Staphylococcus aureus infection. Cosmetic clay mask that can be used for acne skin care. Variations in kaolin concentration can affect the drying time of clay mask preparations. This research aims to determine the clay mask formula for Moringa leaf extract with a variety of kaolin which has physical quality, good stability and antibacterial activity against S. aureus. This research uses 10% Moringa leaf active ingredient which is extracted using the maceration method with 70% ethanol. The clay mask formula consists of kaolin, bentonite, glycerin, DMDM hydantoin, xanthan gum, rose oil and distilled water. The clay mask formula made has varying kaolin concentrations of 30% (F1), 35% (F2) and 40% (F3). The results of formulations F1, F2, and F3 were tested for physical quality and stability and tested for antibacterial activity against S. aureus ATCC 25923. The statistical test for the activity of clay masks F1, F2, and F3 was not significantly different (Sig0.05), but F2 had the highest inhibitory power.  The statistical results of the stability of F1, F2, and F3 are not significantly different (Sig0.05). The results of research on Moringa leaf extract clay masks with variations in kaolin concentration. F1 did not meet the adhesion and viscosity test requirements, while F2 and F3 have physical quality and stability tests that meet the requirements. Moringa leaf extract clay mask has strong antibacterial activity against S. aureus in all three formulas. F1, F2 and F3 with a diameter resistance of 17.44 respectively; 18.56 and 17.67 mm. F2 is the best Moringa leaf extract clay mask formula based on physical quality, stability and antibacterial activity against S. aureus.
