Abstract

Spiny lobster (Panulirus spp) is one of important commodities in Bulukumba Regency.  The lobsters used for aquaculture were obtained from the wild catch in the sea.  The purpose of  this study  was to  develop artificial gear to attract the lobster seed to beeasily caught.  The research was conducted in marine coastal of Ujung Bulu, Bulukumba Regency, South Sulawesi from July to October 2013.   There are three artificial attractors that consisted of light attractor, trap shelter attractor, and shelter benthic attractor. Results showed that the spiny lobster catches from artificial attractor consisted of 47.5 % of pearl lobster (Panulirus ornatus), 25.8% of sand lobster (P. homarus), 21.2 % of bamboo lobster (P. versi color), 5.6% of stone lobster (P. penicilatus).  The carapace length of both pearl lobsterand sand lobster ranged from  2,6 to 6,0 cm, which were longest among the other lobsters..

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aspek teknis berupa ketahanan pencahayaan lampu bawah air dan efektivitas lampu celup underwater light emitting diode (LED) serta komposisi jenis dan jumlah hasil Tangkapan bagan tancap menggunakan underwater LED. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni – Agustus 2022 dengan mengikuti satu unit bagan tancap sebanyak 60 hauling. Hasil menunjukkan Underwater LED mampu menarik respon ikan dari berbagai jenis dan ukuran tetapi kurang dalam jumlah (kg). Lampu LED dengan intensitas cahaya 60 Watt dalam penggunaanya kurang efektif tetapi ketahanan pencahayaan lampu dalam proses penelitian cukup baik. Komposisi jenis hasil tangkapan selama 60 hauling diperoleh sebanyak 15 spesies dengan jumlah hasil tangkapan sebanyak 106 kg.

Abstract

Chlorophyll-a concentration is a critical indicator of marine ecosystem health, reflecting primary productivity and potential ecological changes. However, the occurrence of outlier data in the Banda Sea and its surroundings has not been sufficiently studied. This study aims to investigate the dynamics of chlorophyll-a concentration outliers in the Banda Sea, focusing on their spatial and temporal patterns from 2010 to 2022. Data were acquired from MODIS satellite imagery and analyzed using R Studio for time series decomposition, while spatial patterns were explored with ArcGIS 10.8 and Google Maps to pinpoint key hotspots of outlier activity. The findings reveal fluctuating chlorophyll-a outliers with extreme concentrations ranging from 14.39 to 81 mg·m⁻³. Temporally, these outliers are predominantly observed in the western Banda Sea during January to March and December, while in the eastern Banda Sea they occur from June to September. Spatially, these anomalies are concentrated in areas of significant human activity, particularly in Tolo Bay, suggesting a potential link between anthropogenic influences and ecological disruptions. Field monitoring in areas with persistent outliers is strongly recommended to verify actual conditions and assess their ecological impacts. While chlorophyll-a plays a vital role in marine productivity, excessive concentrations can disrupt ecosystems, potentially leading to harmful algal blooms or hypoxic conditions. This study underscores the importance of integrating remote sensing, field validation, and spatial analysis to effectively monitor and manage these anomalies. Enhanced understanding of these dynamics is critical for informed decision-making and sustainable marine management practices in the Banda Sea.

Abstract

This study models the spatial distribution of yellowfin tuna (YFT) in the Banda Sea using the MaxEnt approach, addressing critical questions about its predictive capability, the influence of environmental variables such as sea surface temperature (SST) and chlorophyll-a concentration, and temporal patterns. MaxEnt was chosen for its ability to predict potential distribution areas based on presence data and environmental factors. Data utilized include fish catch records obtained from the fishing logbook of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia, chlorophyll-a concentration, and SST data sourced from ocean color satellite observations. Model performance was evaluated using the Area Under the Curve (AUC) metric. Study results reveal that significant spatial and temporal variations in YFT distribution are influenced by oceanographic factors, with the model performing best in July (AUC 0.72) and lowest in April, September, and December (AUC ~0.60). SST was the dominant variable in November (82.35%), while chlorophyll-a had the highest contribution in April (83.02%). These findings highlight the dynamic link between tuna distribution and environmental conditions. The spatial maps offer insights for optimizing fishing practices, reducing pressure on overexploited stocks, and supporting sustainable fisheries management through data-driven approaches like MaxEnt. However, the MaxEnt model has limitations such as sensitivity to multicollinearity, overfitting, and low transferability. Future research could enhance accuracy and robustness by using advanced methods like Spatial Maxent, Monte Carlo Variable Selection, or ensemble modeling to support adaptive fisheries management.

Abstract

Pesantren berusaha mendidik para santri agar memiliki kecakapan hidup (life skill) sebagai upaya memberikan kecakapan personal, serta mampu memberikan pilihan alternatif kehidupan kelak ketika terjun di masyarakat. Permasalahan yang terjadi bahwa kecakapan hidup (life skill) santri masih belum maksimal terlihat adanya sebagian alumni belum mampu beradaptasi dengan perkembangan zaman atau belum mampu memberikan manfaat dari ilmu yan diperoleh dari pesantren. Sedangkan tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: (1) Sistem pendidikan pondok pesantren dalam meningkatkan life skill personal santri di Pesantren Babul Istiqamah; (2) Faktor pendukung dan penghambat pada sistem pendidikan pondok pesantren dalam meningkatkan life skill personal santri di Pesantren Babul Istiqamah. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis kualitatif dengan subjek penelitian pimpinan pesantren, dewan guru dan santri. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa: (1) Sistem pendidikan pondok pesantren dalam meningkatkan life skill personal Santri adalah dengan meningkatkan sistem pendidikan yang bermutu, meningkatkan mental santri, menerapkan aturan-aturan, meningkatkan kegiatan sosial agar keakraban antara santri dan masyarakat terjalin dengan baik; (2) Faktor pendukung sistem pendidikan pondok pesantren dalam meningkatkan life skill personal santri adanya dukungan dari pihak pesantren, adanya pelaksanaan kegiatan yang mendukung life skill, seperti muhadharah, berzanzi dan kegiatan lainn. Sedangkan penghambat adalah kurangnya ketertarikan santri dalam mengikuti kegiatan yang berhungan dengan masyarakat, serta tidak pedulinya sebagian masyarakat terhadap pendidikan di pesantren.

Abstract

The rapid development of electrical technology in the field of fishing, especially utilizing the light to collect fish into the catchable area. Generally, Light emitting diode (LED) lamps for fishing are placed above the water surface. The success of this technology has become the basis for conducting experiments with the position of the lamp in the water to see its effectiveness as a fish collection device. The aim is to develop the application of light fishing technology by; (1) testing the effectiveness of using LED lights in collecting fish in the fixed lift-net catchable area to increase the number of catches; (2) assessing the quality of the catch, namely main and by-catch. The research was carried out in May-October 2022 in the Pangkajene and Islands Regency waters. The case method is one unit of fixed lift-net using 4 units of LED underwater lights with a power of 60 W. Data collecting with experimental fishing, namely following fishing operations for 40 trips. The parameters analyzed were the number and types of catches and the effectiveness of fishing gear based on fishing trips. The results showed that the catches types obtained were 15 species with 101.72 kg total catch. The number of catches is not significant, but the results of this study provide one hope, especially for Mitra fishermen. The innovation of LED underwater lights is new information that has good prospects as a more effective and environmentally friendly light capture device. Abstract

Tujuan pelaksanaan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh manajemen perpustakaan terhadap minat baca masyarakat di Perpustakaan Daerah Aceh Barat Daya. Penelitian menggunakan jenis kuantitatif untuk melihat pengaruh manajemen perpustakaan terhadap minat baca masyarakat. Dalam penelitian ini populasi adalah kepala dinas, seluruh karyawan dan masyarakat yang melakukan kunjungan dalam mencari informasi untuk keperluan referensi dan sebagainya sebanyak 225 orang. Sedangkan sampel adalah 10% dari jumlah polulasi (23 orang termasuk kepala dinas, seluruh karyawan dan masyarakat yang berkunjung di dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Aceh Barat Daya). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi dan angket. Analisis data menggunakan uji regresi sederhana, dan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh manajemen perpustakaan terhadap minat baca masyarakat yang ditunjukkan oleh nilai r sebesar 0,507 yang berada pada kategori hubungan yang sedang. Adapun pengujian untuk nilai ttabel pada signifikan (a) = 0,05 dan derajat kebebasan dk= n-2 (23-2) dari daftar distribusi t dengan peluang 0,05 didapatkan ttabel = 1,72. Hasil perhitungan thitung adalah 2,70. Dengan demikian maka thitung > ttabel (2,70 > 1,72) dengan kesimpulan bahwa Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Jadi, kesimpulannya adalah terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara manajemen perpustakaan terhadap minat masyarakat di perpustakaan dan kearsipan Kabupaten Aceh Barat Daya.
