Abstract

Abstract: This research discussed the meaning of words formed by the profession marking suffix -shi (-師) and -fu (-婦) in Japanese. This research used a qualitative descriptive, especially a method by using morphology and the meaning of kanji. The data were collected fromthe Japanese printed dictionary, the online Japanese dictionary on the weblio.jp website, the aedict online dictionary, and Japanese language corpus on the shonagon.ninjal.ac.id website. The obtained data then processed to examine their lexical meanings. The results of analysis showed that the suffixes – shi (- 師) and – fu (-婦) as professional indicators were frequentlyassociated with vocabulary of the kango word type. The words that were connected to these suffixes had a wide range of meanings. There were also other suffixes that refering to specific fields. The suffix –shi (-師) indicated a occupation that required exceptional abilities or qualifications in a specific subject, while the suffix –fu (-婦) had a work tendency that refered to only one gender, typically women. These rules determined which suffixes were attached to particular vocabulary in Japanese.Key Words: Suffix, Kanji, Profession Marker , Japanese Semantics

Abstract

Abstract: As a Japanese learner, reading articles in Japanese is necessary to increase insight into the development of Japanese life in all fields, it can also improve someone's language skills. In learning Japanese there are several skills that are learned, one of them is dokkai. Dokkai (reading comprehension) is an ability that a person has in understanding reading texts and being able to conclude the information received through the reading in his own language. There are several types of Japanese text in learning dokkai, most of them are descriptive text. This research was conducted to determine the level of undestanding descriptive text in 2019 students majoring in Japanese Education, Riau University. This research uses quantitative descriptive method. This research used tests to collect the data. The participants of the research were 33 college students from 2019 students majoring in Japanese Education, Riau University. The result obtained were that understanding test results are still in the low range. Students tend to be able to remember concrete things that appear in the text. However, students are still unable to mention synonyms and explain the contents of the text.Key word : Descriptive Text , Dokkai, Understanding

Abstract

Abstract: This study discusses the meaning of Japanese proverbs that use color. Every Japanese proverb has a variety of meanings contained in it. In this study, we will discuss the meaning of Japanese proverbs that use color. The data from this study is a collection of Japanese proverbs that use color. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The source of proverb data from this research comes from the Kotowaza Jiten Online dictionary. The color proverb data found in the Online dictionary reveals 5 colors such as red, blue, black, white, and yellow. The results of the analysis of Japanese proverbs that use color found various color meanings, there are colors that have meanings as blood, young, good, evil, and loud are found in Japanese proverbs.Key Words: Proverb, Colors, Meaning

Abstract

Abstract: This study discusses the functions that appear in Japanese conversations in making appointments on the telephone. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The source of the data in this study is in the form of Japanese telephone conversations recorded using zoom media. The number of respondents in this study consisted of 10 students at Kobe University Japan which will be divided into two groups of Japanese people who will have telephone conversations in making appointments with close friends and with people of higher social status. The data analysis technique used qualitative analysis. The results of data analysis obtained in this study are the functions that appear in Japanese conversations when making telephone appointments with close friends or peers (students and students) and with people with higher social status (lecturers and students).Key Words: Discourse Analysis, Communication, Pragmatics

Abstract

Abstract: This study discusses about the use of language in the discourse style of Pocari Sweat advertisements broadcast on the electronic media, especially television associated with verbal messages spoken in terms of sentence structure. In addition, this study also describes how developments and trends in the use of language styles based on the period the ad is appearing in the 1980s to the 2000s. As the data is randomly selected 15 pieces of advertising Pocari Sweat Japanese language which can be seen on youtube streaming sites. Data were analyzed by the method of introspection to prove the validity of the data and distributional methods to analyze the data. Based on the theory of language style proposed by Gorys Keraf analysis shows bahwasannya discourse Pocari Sweat Japanese-language ad which there are stylistic climax, anti-climax, parallelism, antithesis, and repetition of the type of anaphora, epizeuksis, and epanalepsis. Where in a single discourse ads are ads that have 3 types of style, two kinds of style, and some have only one type of style.Keywords: language style,sentence structure,advertaisment

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this study was to identify the type and meanings of Japanese onomatopoeia in One Piece comic. The qualitative descriptive methods of this study used phonology and morphology to explain the sounds of onomatopoeia. The data in this study is onomatopoeia words of the giongo type. Onomatopoeia is divided by sound replication from inanimate objects which is nature and treated objects. Giseigo is divided by onomatopoeia that replicate animal sound and human voice. There are several forms of onomatopoeia, namely basic words, germinate consonant (sokuon) is a clipped sound, or slight pause, when pronouncing the word in Japanese, nasal phoneme (hatsuon) described the reverberate of onomatopoeia, long vowels (chou'on) is a word that have long sounds resulting in a lengthened pronunciation in Onomatopoeia, and reduplication (hanpukukei) also represented the onomatopoeia sounds that are usually repeated.Key Words: Giongo, One Piece, Onomatope

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe how to use the final particle (shuujoshi) kana and kashira in Japanese language drama by using sociolinguistic approach. Shuujoshi are particles (joshi) used at the end of a sentence or at the end of the sentence to express the speaker expression, prohibition, questions or doubts, expectations, or request, confirmation, orders, and so on. The particles included shuujoshi group is ka, kashira, to / kke, nee, no, wa, ze, zo, kana, naa, yo, tomo, sa, and ne. The method used is descriptive qualitative method. Shuujoshi kana and kashira associated with a variety of Japanese. Kana commonly used by both men and kashira worn by women. As the times there was no significant difference between the use shuujoshi kana and kashira. Data were analyzed as a number of research data 14 data each 7 data kana and 7 data kashira. Selection data is based on data relating to the speaker and the person said, which also in terms of age, gender, social class and the relationship between the speaker and the person said.Keywords : Shuujoshi, Kana, Kashira, Variety of Japanese, Sosiolinguistik.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to discuss the synonyms of yakuwarigo in the manga Rurouni Kenshin. Yakuwarigo is a special arrangement of expressions or ways of speaking that tell a character in a fictional story. The method used is descriptive qualitative, the data in this study were obtained by observing and analyzing the manga Rurouni Kenshin volumes 1 and 2. The results of this study indicate that the synonyms of yakuwarigo such as pronouns, copulas, forms of negation, greetings, expressions of apology and expressions of forgiveness when paired into language Indonesia no longer gives an exclusive impression as a samurai, there are copulas that do not have an synonym in Indonesian.Key Words: Yakuwarigo, Synonyms, Rurouni Kenshin manga

Abstract: The study described the meaning of metonymy of Japanese song lyrics. The purpose of this study is to describe the meaning, analyze and describe the relationship metonymy in Japanese song lyrics. This study uses descriptive method. The data is taken from Japanese lyrics by Spyair. Abstract

Abstract: Kanji is very important to learn in learning Japanese. This is because the Japanese writing system uses kanji. Kanji have a large number and have special characteristics compared to other letters. Therefore kanji is difficult to learn. The purpose of this study was to determine the mastery of kanji in level III students of the Japanese language education study program, Riau University. The research method used is descriptive quantitative method. The results obtained were that from 33 students there were 26 students who answered more than half of the questions correctly. And there were 7 students who answered less than half of the questions correctly.Key Words: Kanji, Ability, Mastering
