Abstract

Teaching large classes often produces a lot of problems. One of the efforts to minimize the problems is by empowering the students in the learning process. One of the teaching techniques that can empower learners is a group work presentation task. Hence, the objective of this paper is to share a discussion that can be used to optimize the application of a group work presentation task. To get the optimal result, an action research is conducted. Two cycles are applied. The data are taken by observing the learning process when an action is applied, by interviewing the learners involved and by discussing the results with the collaborators. The research shows that group work presentation task can work well when participatory evalu- ation is applied. Key word: Group Presentation Task, Participatory Evaluation, and cycle.

Abstract

Tujuan utama kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk menumbuhkan dan memberikan penguatan  kepedulian guru dan siswa di SMP Muhammadiyah 10 Matesih Karanganyar terhadap lingkungan sosial-budaya sekolah dalam pendidikan etika dan karakter di era komunikasi global sekarang ini. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini melibatkan guru dan siswa berjumlah 34 siswa yang ada di SMP Muhammadiyah 10 Matesih yang diawali dengan pengamatan terlibat aktif, wawancara mendalam secara langsung dilanjutkan dengan teknik Partisipatory Rural Appraisal kepada guru dan siswa di SMP Muhammadiyah 10 Matesih. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini menunjukkan bahwa dengan adanya pendidikan etika dan karakter peduli lingkungan siswa yang ada di SMP Muhammadiyah 10 Matesih lebih menanggapi akan pentingnya lingkungan yang bersih, serta siswa di SMP Muhammadiyah 10 Matesih telah dapat memanfaatkan botol-botol bekas sebagai pot bunga dan lebih bertanggung jawab atas sampah yang ada di lingkungan sekolah dengan membuang sampah pada tempat sampah yang telah di sediakan oleh tim KKN-Dik maka dengan diadakannya pengabdian masyarakt pendidikan ini dapat mengetahui bahwa dengan diadakannya pendidikan etika dan karekter peduli lingkungan ini dapat menumbuhkan etika dan karakter siswa dalam bertanggung jawab terhadap lingkungan yang bersih, rapi, indah, dan nyaman. Oleh sebab itu, guru dan siswa perlu didorong secara berkala dan berkelanjutan dalam pendidikan etika dan karakter yang berbasis pada potensi lingkungan sosial-budaya sekolah.

Abstract

Dusun Tanon lereng gunung Telomoyo Kecamatan Getasan, kabupaten Semarang memiliki potensi Desa wisata (Dewi) menari yang dicanangkan  sejak tahun 2012. Dewi yang menjadi salah satu destinasi wisata yang khas dan unik, dengan sajian paket hiburan menari oleh masyarakat dusun Tanon, disamping pagelaran seni, dolanan tradisional, wisata pembelajaran (outbond), wisata psikoterapi dll belum dikelola secara maksimal dan profesional. Seiring dengan perkembangan usaha paket wisata di desa menari Tanon, persoalan penataan lingkungan, pengembangan potensi untuk produksi industri kreatif, dan pengelolaan peternakan yang bersih perlu menjadi perhatian. Kegiatan Ipteks bagi Desa Mitra (IbDM) ini, difokuskan pada dua kegiatan. Pertama, bidang lingkungan dan kedua, kegiatan berbasis pada aspek ekonomi dalam mengangkat potensi tanaman lokal, yaitu pegagan dan sayur-sayuran. Pendampingan penataan lingkungan asri, pengelolaan peternakan bersih dan pengembangan usaha hasil pertanian berbasis potensi lokal, dapat menambah daya tarik dan kenyamanan pengunjung untuk menikmati suasana pedesaan, meningkatkan jumlah pengunjung, meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat melalui pembelian produk-produk olahan kreatif dari masyarakat, yang muaranya adalah peningkatan kesejahteraan dan kualitas hidup masyarakat di desa wisata, serta terwujudnya pengelolaan dan pengembangan desa wisata yang lebih menarik dan kreatif, pengelolaan peternakan yang bersih, dikembangkan pertanian produktif serta diversifikasi aneka produk olahan berbasis potensi lokal.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the types and causes of students’ disruptive behaviors happen in English class. The method of this study was qualitative research. The research type was case study. The data were obtained from observation and interview. The source data were 118 students in level 3. The techniques analyzing data used three steps including data reduction, data display, and vilification. The results showed that the types of disruptive behaviors happen in the class were class disruption, aggression and goofing off. The causes of students’ disruptive behaviors were from the environment around them (friend and social life), bad learning (lazy to study and English is too difficult), and psychology needs (power, freedom, fun). Based on the correlation results, it can be inferred that the types of the disruption that happen in the English class is low behaviors. The environment has more influence for students to make the disruptive behavior in the class. Classroom management is critical in keeping students in a safe and conducive environment for effective learning. Therefore, teachers and principals should add meaning to stimulate and keep going suitable behaviors of students in classroom organizations.

Abstract

This study investigates informal learning during the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia. Distant learning during the Covid 19 pandemic affects all aspects of education, including parents’ roles that switch to be teachers at home. This condition enables new learning patterns in order to offer children learning opportunities in their home. This study employs a qualitative approach with ethnographic design. The data collection techniques used an open observation guide which was examined for its validity using face and content validity. The techniques of analyzing data included data analysis across sites with some analysis components of data collection, reduction and conclusion. The research findings, in the form of description and formulation of learning patterns reveal adaptive ways to deliver effective education for children. In this way, they are prepared for 21st century skills and to face the industrial revolution 4.0 and society 5.0 in these disruptive times.  This pandemic situation forms significant roles of parents in educating their children and strengthen-ing them in facing learning problems. Several parents’ roles include educators, facilitators, tutors, motivators, models, and controllers. Their roles can create pleasant learning situation for their children in the current pandemic situation. The multiroles of parents at home are key to keeping a good learning environment with their children. Therefore, parents are the keys to the success of child education during the Covid 19 Pandemic.

Abstract

Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan potensi peserta didik yaitu dengan bimbingan belajar. Dalam beaktivitas dilandasi dengan dorongan untuk menggapai sebuah tujuan. Pendorong yang ada pada manusia ini yaitu motivasi. Dalam pemberian motivasi bisa dilakukan oleh siapapun dan kapapun sepeti mahasiswa yang mengabdi di sekolah. Pengabdian masyarakat dalam suatu daerah tertentu seperti daerah terpencil memiliki tujuan untuk membantu masyarakat pada daerah tertentu tanpa mengharapkan imbalan apapun dan dalam bentuk apapun. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini ilaksanakan di SMPN 2 Lembeyan, Kecamatan Lembeyan, Kabupaten Magetan. Digunakan metode advokasi. Hasil dari pengabdian ini yaitu bimbingan belajar yang dilakukan kepada siswa SMPN 2 Lembeyan, membeikan motivasi kepada peserta didik, dan kegiatan pemberian hadiah yang berupa hadiah maupun pujian. Adanya pengabdian yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa Kampus Mengajar ini dil-akukan untuk menjaga semangat belajar peserta didik di masa pandemi Covid-19.

Abstract

The study aims to identify the challenges of the English online learning process during the pandemic by 10th graders at MAN 1 Ngawi. 10th-grade students of MAN 1 Ngawi were the subjects in the study. The perception of 10th graders regarding the barriers that arise in English learning at MAN 1 Ngawi is the object of this research. In carrying out this study, the researcher uses qualitative descriptive methods. Qualitative data analysis techniques that the researcher used in this study are divided into coding, data reduction, data presentation, and interpretation or withdrawal or conclusions. The study used online questionnaires and interviews to obtain data. The researcher also used triangulation techniques to obtain the validity of the research data. This study shows that the online English learning process experiences challenges faced by 10th-grade students, namely difficulties in understanding learning materials, unstable networks, and errors in E-learning applications. Related to this research, there are several implications, namely: a) to provide suggestions and information for schools and improve insight for learners; b) to add knowledge related to the challenges facing 10th graders in online English learning; c) as a comparison or reflection material to improve the quality of ICT-based learning in the future.

Abstract

SDN Tanggan 1 Gesi Sragen merupakan sekolah yang termasuk dalam kategori perlu meningkatkan literasi dan numerasi. Kemampuan siswa yang masih kurang dari target yang diharapkan oleh pemerintah khususnya di kelas 1. Ada 3 siswa yang masih belum bisa membaca, sehingga diharapkan dengan adanya media pembelajaran big book ini dapat membantu mereka yang belum bisa membaca dan menumbuhkan minat membaca. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan pemanfaatan media pembelajaran big book untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi dan minat baca siswa kelas 1 SDN Tanggan 1 Gesi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas satu SD yang masih belum bisa membaca. Penelitian ini dilakukan di salah satu Sekolah Dasar di Kota Sragen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa lebih antusias dalam belajar membaca menggunakan media pembelajaran big book. Pemahaman mereka untuk menjawab pada LKS juga meningkat dibandingkan tidak menggunakan media pembelajaran bigbook.
