Abstract

Pada tahun 2008 ditemukan adanya susu formula yang terkontaminasi senyawa melamin. Melamin dan asam sianurat akan diserap oleh saluran pencernaan dalam tubuh dan mengendap di ginjal membentuk kristal. Sehingga sangat diperlukan adanya suatu metode yang handal, cepat, mudah, dan murah untuk menganalisis cemaran melamin dalam susu formula. Sementara itu metode baku untuk analisis melamin belum ditetapkan dalam Standar Nasional Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji validitas metode analisis cemaran melamin dalam susu formula bayi menggunakan High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Hitachi D-7000 dan fase gerak 0,1%TFA:metanol dengan mempertimbangkan lima parameter uji yaitu linearitas, batas deteksi (LOD), batas kuantisasi (LOQ), presisi, dan akurasi. Kondisi analisis kromatografi diperoleh pada komposisi fase gerak 0,1% TFA (pH 2,8):metanol (50:50) dan laju alir 0,75 mL/menit. Pengendapan protein susu pada sampel diperoleh pada penambahan 2 mL asam trikloroasetat 5%. Koefisien korelasi (r) 0,9999 menunjukkan linearitas yang diperoleh mendekati 1. Deteksi melamin yang relatif kecil ditunjukkan dengan LOD dan LOQ berturut-turut 0,76 ppm dan 2,5 ppm. Metode analisis ini juga menghasilkan presisi dengan uji repetabilitas yang baik ≤ 2% yaitu RSD 1,13%. Akurasi dihasilkan berdasarkan uji perolehan kembali sebesar 100,7-119,8% dengan batas keberterimaan sebesar 80-120%. Dengan demikian, telah diperoleh metode yang valid untuk menganalisis cemaran melamin dalam susu formula menggunakan HPLC Hitachi D-7000 sehingga metode tersebut dapat digunakan untuk keperluan analisis secara rutin. Kata kunci: melamin, validasi metode, susu formula, HPLC, TFA

Abstract

Pada penelitian ini, ekstraksi logam Cu(II) dan Cr(III) dilakukan dengan menggunakan asetilaseton sebagai pereaksi pengkhelat yang dilarutkan dalam fasa organik serta dilakukan karakterisasi terhadap senyawa kompleks asetilaseton dengan kedua logam tersebut. Pengukuran logam yang terekstrak dilakukan dengan menggunakan Atomic Absorbstion Spectrofotometer (AAS). Dari hasil pengukuran, diketahui bahwa logam Cu(II) dapat terekstrak secara optimum sebesar 95,42% pada pH 12 dengan menggunakan perbandingan konsentrasi logam Cu(II) : asetilaseton sebesar 1:1 sedangkan logam Cr(III) dapat tersekstrak secara optimum sebesar 52,61% pada pH 8 dengan perbandingan konsentrasi logam Cr(III) : asetilaseton sebesar 1:3. Dari hasil karakterisasi diketahui bahwa senyawa kompleks [Cu(acac)2] dan [Cr(acac)3] telah terbentuk. Kata kunci: asetilaseton, pereaksi pengkhelat, ekstraksi logam Cu(II) dan Cr(III)

Abstract

Dithiocarbamate derivatives is a versatile ligand that contain two atoms of sulfur as a strong electron donor. It combines with metals. N-phenylaminedithiocarbamate has synthesized and applied in solvent exctration. Synthesis carried out with addition carbon disulphide to N-phenylamine and concentrated pottasium hydroxyde in metanol. The result was characterized by spectroscopy 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, FTIR, Elemental Analysis, that showed molecular structure was significant. Applied N-Phenylaminedithiocarbamate in solvent extraction showed precent of result Cu(II), Co(II), Cr(III) and Ni (II) were 90.45% - 99.99% at pH 4-9.

Abstract

Silver recovery research from x-ray film waste by leaching and precipitation method using NaOH and Na2S aims to determine the optimum conditions in silver recovery. The parameters optimated in this study were the concentration of the precipitants, leaching temperature and the effect of the type of precipitants on the precipitated time. The results showed that the NaOH and Na2S precipitants were able to recover silver optimally at a concentration of 1.5 M. The optimum leaching temperature of the film with the Na2S precipitant to recover silver was at 25oC, whereas in the NaOH precipitant the film leaching temperature only affected the time of precipitation. Therefore, the formation of precipitate using Na2S is more efficient than NaOH, but the acquisition of silver is better to use NaOH than Na2S.

Abstract

Silver is a metal that has the highest electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity and reflectivity among all metals and by 2021 the world's silver demand will reach 32,627 tons. To meet the world's silver demand, apart from mining from nature, silver can also be obtained through re-collection of electronic waste using environmentally friendly Deep Eutectic Solvent (DES). The aim of this study was to recover metallic silver from electronic waste of silver oxide coin batteries using oxalin DES leaching method. The research methodology consisted of the steps of synthesizing the eutectic solvent oxalin, characterizing it, and its application to the leaching of silver from the cathode of a silver oxide battery. Silver leaching was carried out by dissolving 0.2 grams of sample with 1:1 oxaline solvent by direct heating for 3 × 8 hours at 500 rpm. The leaching temperature variations were 50, 60, 70, and 80oC and the volume variations of the DES oxalin used were 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, and 125 mL/g. The concentration of leached silver was measured using AAS instrumentation. The results of the synthesis were characterized by FTIR indicating the formation of a new intermolecular interaction, namely the COOH••••Cl interaction. DES oxalin has a density of about 1.2095 g/mL. Based on the results of the optimization of the leaching temperature using 20 mL/g of solvent, the optimum temperature for leaching was found at 60oC with a leaching efficiency of 88.35%. While the results of the volume optimization of the solvent carried out at the optimum temperature, it was found that the optimum volume of the solvent used was 80 mL/g of sample with a leaching efficiency of 94.23%. Based on these results, it can be seen that oxaline has the potential to be used as a solvent in the treatment of used silver oxide battery waste.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk melakukan pendampingan penulisan proposal penelitian bagi siswa Madrasah Aliyah (MA) dan anggota Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran (MGMP) Kimia di kabupaten Tasikmalaya. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan dalam tiga tahapan, dengan tahap 1, 2, dan 3 berturut-turut dilakukan secara online-offline-online. Dari hasil workshop P2M ini diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa kegiatan pembinaan siswa MA dan guru-guru MGMP Kimia di wilayah Tasikmalaya terlaksana dengan baik pada setiap tahapnya. Kegiatan ini telah membantu siswa dalam menyusun draf proposal penelitian Olimpiade Penelitian Siswa Indonesia (OPSI). Dari kegiatan ini diperoleh 13 judul proposal yang dianggap layak untuk diikutsertakan pada kegiatan OPSI. Dari seluruh judul tersebut, terdapat 11 judul proposal yang berhasil lolos seleksi.This community service aims to provide an assistance in writing research proposals for the members of chemistry subject teacher deliberation (MGMP) and Madrasah Aliyah students in Tasikmalaya. The community service activities were carried out in three stages, with stages 1, 2, and 3 conducted online, offline, and online, respectively. Based on the results of this workshop, we concluded that the assistance program was executed effectively at every stage. This program helped students in preparing a draft research proposal for the Indonesian Student Research Olympiad (OPSI). Through this program, we generated 13 proposal titles deemed suitable for participation in OPSI. Out of these titles, 11 successfully passed the selection process.

Abstract

Masa pandemi Covid-19 yang telah berlangsung selama hampir dua tahun menyebabkan siswa kehilangan kesempatan untuk melakukan kegiatan laboratorium. Kondisi tersebut menjadikan pembelajaran kimia lebih bersifat teoritis. Hal ini menjadi salah satu penyebab rendahnya minat dan motivasi siswa untuk mempelajari kimia yang pada akhrinya dapat berimbas pada rendahnya hasil belajar siswa. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui minat, motivasi, dan tanggapan para siswa terhadap pelajaran kimia melalui demonstrasi berbasis chemistry for fun. Sebanyak 12 judul percobaan kimia sederhana didemonstrasikan terhadap 54 siswa kelas X-XII di SMAN 1 Pangandaran. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan angket tanggapan para siswa terkait keterlaksanaan demonstrasi kimia berbasis chemistry for fun serta minat dan motivasi belajar siswa terhadap pelajaran kimia. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa para siswa memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap demosntrasi kimia berbasis chemistry for fun dengan tingkat keterlaksanaan sangat baik. Selain itu, tingkat minat dan motivasi belajar siswa terhadap pelajaran kimia masing-masing berada pada kategori tinggi dengan presentase 64,8% dan 70,4%. Dengan demikian, demonstrasi kimia berbasis chemistry for fun dapat menjadi alternatif metode pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan minat dan motivasi belajar siswa terhadap pelajaran kimia.Chemistry teachers are required to have four competencies which include pedagogic, personality, social and professional competencies. Some of the teacher's limitations that have been identified are weak literacy and critical thinking skills, which causes chemistry learning to be more theoretical. This is one of the causes of the low interest and motivation of students to study chemistry. To overcome this, it is necessary to conduct workshop and deepen the material for teachers, so that teachers are expected to become more confident in presenting chemistry lessons that are interesting and relevant to everyday life. The workshop was carried out by adopting a Problem-based Learning (PBL) learning model to provide experience for teachers as facilitators that stimulates students in chemistry learning. Thermochemistry topic was chosen because it is a good stimulus in solving problems in everyday phenomena through chemical knowledge. Through this workshop, outputs are produced in the form of curriculum analysis and learning strategies for thermochemical materials that are ready to be applied by teachers.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to develop an electronic portfolio instrument to assess concept mastery and creative thinking on project-based acid-base materials. The research participants are class XI, who will study acid-base materials. This research uses the 4D Research and Development model which are carried out up to stage 3 (Define, Design, and Development). On the define stage, a literature study, a field survey, material analysis, indicator analysis, and task analysis were conducted. The design stage designed grids and assessment rubrics, the preparation tasks consisting of four: making papers, practicum reports, posters, and concept maps. The design stage compiled an electronic portfolio instrument. The developmental stage conducts quality tests: initial development test, expert validity test obtained a CVR value of 1.00, reliability test with inter-rater obtained a Cronbach Alpha value between 0.652 and 1.000. After the electronic portfolio instrument was valid and reliable, a limited trial was conducted with N-Gain scores of task 1, task 2, task 3, and task 4, respectively: 0.17 (low), 0.13 (low), 0.46 (medium), and 0.32 (medium). The overall average of the pretest and posttest N-Gain scores is 0.90, with a higher category. This electronic portfolio instrument based on Project-Based Learning (PjBL) is expected to help teachers assess tasks on concept mastery and students' creative thinking on acid-based materials.

Abstract

The exponential growth in printed circuit boards (PCBs) waste, presents an urgent environmental and economic challenge. PCBs contain silver which has a high potential economic value. The high production of waste and the potential economic value make it important to recycle PCB waste. Recycling can be conducted by leaching silver using Deep Eutectic Solvent (DES). DES is environmentally friendly and able to form complexes with various types of metals. This research aims to study the effect of the HBD carbon chain length of oxalic acid, malonic acid, and succinic acid from choline chloride-based eutectic solvents (DES) on the efficiency of leaching silver from Printed Circuit Board (PCB) waste. Optimization of the solid/liquid ratio, time, and temperature is carried out to obtain optimum leaching conditions. The synthesis results show that DES oxaline 2:1, malin 1:1, and succilin 2:1 have good stability, forming a colorless, clear, and viscous solution. FTIR analysis shows a shift in the wave number of the -OH group due to hydrogen bond interactions between HBA and HBD molecules in the formation of DES. The leaching yield of DES against standard silver oxide was measured using AAS. DES oxaline 2:1 has the greatest efficiency compared to other DES variations. The results of optimizing standard silver leaching with DES oxaline showed that the S/L ratio was 40 mg/mL, with a time of 18 hours, at a temperature of 60°C which resulted in a recovery percentage of 90.90%, while for the PCB waste sample yielded an efficiency of 99.38%. The eutectic solvent oxaline has the potential to be an environmentally friendly solvent that is efficient in leaching silver from PCB electronic waste.
