Abstract

Educational technology is part of a scientific that is mostly engaged in education. Actually, this scientific has significant benefits, especially in the field of education. However, many people do not understand the role of educational technology in education. This can be seen from the diverse perspectives of society on educational technology. When it is associated with educational technology science, there are many views of the community that are very opposite to the scientific clusters of educational technology taught from lectures. So, the purpose of this study was to find out the various perspectives of society regarding educational technology itself. This paper is presented with the addition of theoretical educational technology clumps. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. This study used indirect interviews, which means giving unstructured questions but still focusing on what will be researched. The subjects in this study were six participants who were people outside the educational technology scientific clump. In addition, the author also conducted a literature review which was taken from six articles from three different journals. The results of this study reveal a diverse picture of views on educational technology. All participants argue that educational technology has a significant role, but in terms of the dominant conception they still do not understand it like other scientific. From the results it can be a separate challenge for educational technology. It can be used as an alternative reference in improving the quality of educational technology, either through formal education or other forms.

Abstract

This article aims to study the use of social media as a learning resource. Basically, social media tends to be freely used by various circles, both in terms of cost and time spent. In addition, looking at the economic conditions during the declining COVID-19 pandemic, making social media can be used as an alternative step to learning resources compared to other learning application platforms that tend to be paid. Based on these facts, the authors are interested in studying social media’s use as an alternative learning resource in favor of the New Normal policy that the government has now applied. One of New Normal policies decided by the government is to optimize the process of blended learning or full online in the implementation of education at every level. Thus, social media can be used to learn because of the simple process that makes it easier to learn in its use. There have been many studies that reveal the success of social media use, especially Youtube, Instagram, and WhatsApp, as learning resources before the pandemic so that social media can be used as a learning resource during New Normal life. Hopefully, through social media, this can be one of the alternative troubleshooting learning problems in the New Normal period.

Abstract

This article presents an explanation of the implementation of hybrid training as a form of teacher professional development at Wahid Hasyim Junior High School in Malang. Hybrid training is a pedagogical approach that combines online and face-to-face learning to improve the quality of education and teachers' abilities. This programme is implemented with stages (1) pre-implementation, (2) implementation and (3) post-implementation. The pre-implementation stage is passed by preparing all aspects needed. The implementation stage includes the training process which is conducted online but participants follow it simultaneously in one room. The post-implementation stage is carried out through reflections from the training instructor during the activity. This mode of training is expected to provide opportunities for teachers to explore their learning experiences widely through the application of online learning as exemplified in this training programme.

Abstract

Modern science learning paradigms emphasize inquiry-based and experiential learning, replacing traditional approaches. Constructivist approaches become the theoretical foundation, recognizing the importance of students' active involvement in the learning process. Metaphors of acquisition and participation are proposed as the basis for understanding science learning. The research method uses narrative techniques to synthesize information from multiple sources, providing a comprehensive overview of problems and solutions in the contemporary science learning paradigm. The author highlights a number of issues that need to be addressed. Key challenges include a lack of hands-on experimentation, an overemphasis on rote learning, a lack of inclusivity, and suboptimal integration of technology. While technology integration has the potential to enrich the student experience, there are still shortcomings in its implementation. By highlighting these issues, the authors promote the importance of hands-on experiences, concept-based assessments, inclusive curricula, and effective technology integration in improving science education. Recommendations include a collaborative approach among educators, policymakers, and stakeholders to address these issues and create a better future for science education. The conclusions emphasize the need to implement these solutions in the classroom and in education policy. By improving the student experience, supporting student-centered learning, and addressing the challenges of technology integration, science education can evolve to meet the demands of today's society and science.
