Abstract

ABSTRACTIntroduction: Many infectious diseases occur in developing countries with low socioeconomic conditions. One such is leprosy. Leprosy is common in developing countries as a result of the country's limited ability to provide adequate services, including among some health workers. Such health workers are lacking knowledge and understanding of the false beliefs of leprosy and its resulting disabilities. The purpose of this research is to formulate a social care model in improving self-concept of leprosy patients in Probolinggo District. Methods: This research used explanatory research survey method with a cross-sectional approach. The sample was 56  respondents. The variables were family support, social care and self-concept. The data were collected using a questionnaire modelled on  Liandi,  Richard H's concept and The Tennessee Self-Concept Scale. The data were then analyzed by Partial Least Squares (PLS)  to test the hypothesis and form the empirical model. Results: The results showed  social care was able to improve the self-concept of leprosy patients (T=5.800, T >1.96).Conclusion: Therefore, it is expected that nurses continuously  synergize in maintaining social care conditions with the community in order to improve the self-concept of leprosy patients.

Abstract

Satisfied patients are a very valuable asset because if patients are satisfied, they will continue to use the services of their choice. Based on data on the number of patient visits to general polyclinics from 2021 there were 11,657 while in 2022 there were 10,013 with an average of 30 patient visits per day. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between officer performance and patient satisfaction at the General Polyclinic at the Tanjung Karang Health Center, Mataram City. The research design was "cross-sectional". A sample of 92 people was taken by random sampling method, namely by accidental sampling from a population of 2,625. Data was collected by interview method with a questionnaire tool. Data analysis was performed by Chi-Square analysis. The results of the Chi-Square test show that there is a relationship between officer performance and general polyclinic patient satisfaction with statistical tests that there is a low/weak relationship with a correlation coefficient value of a significant positive direction and a significant test is carried out so there is a relationship between the two variables because the p-value or Sig of 0.00 or less than 0.05 (5%). Suggestions in this study are that there is a need to increase the performance of officers such as responsiveness, providing clear and precise information about the disease, giving attention or understanding to patients so that patients feel safe during examinations and equipment for the physical facilities of the Tanjung Karang Health Center General Polyclinic.

Abstract

Introduction: COVID-19 spread rapidly, but little is known regarding knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) against COVID-19 among residents from various regions in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the level of knowledge, practice and attitudes related to COVID-19 to provide a scientific basis for the prevention and control of this major outbreak in Indonesia. Methods: Online survey with convenience sampling was conducted among urban and rural residents in West Nusa Tenggara Province, and collected 523 questionnaires through online media. The instruments used in this research are demographic information, such as age, gender, educational level, marital status and area of residence (urban or rural) and knowledge, attitude and practice questionnaires. Results: The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that education level (p=0.01), gender (p=0.00) and age (p=0.03) had a significant effect on knowledge about COVID-19. Residential area (urban) affects practices related to COVID-19 (p=0.00). Furthermore, knowledge of COVID-19 (p=0.00) and area of residence (urban) (p=0.00) are closely related to residents' attitudes toward preventive measures that can control this disease. Conclusions: Both urban and rural residents of West Nusa Tenggara Province displayed moderate levels of knowledge as well as the practice of COVID-19 and showed the disease with a positive attitude. Developing suitable education programs targeted at the general residents in West Nusa Tenggara Province is essential to increase knowledge, attitudes, as well as practices of COVID-19, especially for rustic and low-educated citizens.

The West Lombok Regency implementation interventions and sensitive interventions to reduce stunting 3.73 percent from 2021 to 2022. The research aims to determine if there is a significant relationship between specific intervention programs for chronically energy-deficient pregnant women and the reduction of stunting incidents. The objective is to evaluate the impact of specific intervention programs on pregnant women with chronic energy deficiency. The quantitative cross-sectional method involved 294 respondents, with the research conducted from September to November 2023. Conclusions: (1) There is a significant relationship with the provision of supplementary food, with an odds ratio of 0.264 times. (2) There is a significant relationship with the provision of blood supplement tablets, with an odds ratio of 0.379 times. (3) There is no relationship with pregnancy examinations. (4) There is a significant relationship with the administration of TT/TD immunizations, with an odds ratio of 0.440 times. (5) There is no relationship with HIV/TB/Malaria/Hepatitis services. (6) There is no relationship with the mother's class program. (7) Independent variables explain the dependent variable by 17.5 percent, and 82.5 percent is explained by variables not studied. Recommendations for the West Lombok Regency government: The provision of supplementary food requires intensive monitoring of the target population. Increasing the coverage of pregnancy examination programs and blood tablet consumption requires an application system. Increasing the coverage of TT/TD immunization integrated with a health application. HIV/TB/Malaria/Hepatitis services require human resource planning, equipment and disposable material, and reporting systems. Mother's class activities require innovation and modification.
