Abstract

Jernang (Daemonorops draco (Willd.) Blume) is a dioecious rattan species that produces resin on female individuals. The sex of jernang can only be identified from its inflorescences morphology. Sex survey was conducted in 5 populations of  jernang, 3 populations of which in the Bukit Tigapuluh National Park (BTNP), 1 population in the secondary forest in Jambi province and 1 population in the area of rubber plantation in Jambi province. Chi-Squared test on the sex ratio of  jernang showed that the ratio of the male to female in their natural habitat (Bengayoan and Tebo, 2 parts of the BTNP ecosystem and the Sepintun secondary forest) was distorted from the normal ratio of 1:1, while the cultivated jernang in Nunusan population (BTNPT) and Mandiangin were not significantly different from the normal sex ratio of 1:1. Female individuals from the cultivated population in the Mandiangin (planted in 1997) has an average number of stems per clump more on individual males (27.12) than females (26.92). The result of this study indicated that the D. draco has a good reproductive strategy and thus suitable for cultivation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh hormon giberelin (GA3) terhadapdaya kecambah dan vigoritas Calopogonium caeruleum. Penelitian menggunakan RancanganAcak Lengkap (RAL) dengan dua faktor. Faktor pertama konsentrasi GA3 (G) terdiri dari 6 tarafG0 = 0 ppm, G1 = 100 ppm, G2 = 200 ppm, G3 = 300 ppm, G4 = 400 ppm, G5 = 500 ppm,sedangkan faktor ke dua adalah lama perendaman, terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu T1 = 6 jam, T2 = 12jam dan T3 = 24 jam, sehingga didapat 18 kombinasi perlakuan dengan ulangan sebanyak 3kali. Parameter yang diamati meliputi persentase daya kecambah (%) dan vigoritas (%). Analisisdata menggunakan analisis sidik ragam (ANOVA) dan apabila terdapat perbedaan nyatadilanjutkan dengan uji lanjut Duncan pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwainteraksi konsentrasi GA3 dan lama perendaman memperlihatkan pengaruh yang nyata(P<0,05) terhadap persentase perkecambahan dan vigoritas Calopogonium caeruleum.Perlakuan yang terbaik dalam menghasilkan persentase perkecambahan Calopogoniumcaeruleum tertinggi adalah G5T3 (GA3 500 ppm dengan lama perendaman 24 jam) yaitusebesar 57,33%.

Abstract

Ethnobotany is a branch of biological sciences that examines the relationship between society and the world of plants. Plants have an important role in the sustainability of life, especially in the utilization as medicinal and food ingredients by a number of traditional in Indonesia. Indonesia has a high biodiversity so that the utilization of biological resources can not be separated from plants that live in nature both intentionally planted and that grow wild in the forest to meet the needs of daily life, for example as a traditional medicine material. Traditional medicine using plants is still found in Jambi Province which has abundant natural wealth, one of which is in Batanghari Regency, Mersam Subdistrict, especially in the Kembang Paseban Village Community. The research aims to find out the types of plants that are used as medicines, the parts used, the way of processing, the benefits of medicinal plants used, the measure of use, cultural value as well as plant parts used as medicinal materials in the community of Kembang Paseban Subdistrict Mersam Batanghari. The research method uses snowball sampling interview method and purposive sampling as well as participatory observation. Based on the results of the study, there are 67 species from 35 families used by the community of Kembang Paseban Village. With the highest value on the leaves as much as 43.01%. The way of processing is brewed, squeezed, kneaded, shredded, sailed to the fire, eaten directly, freshed, and pounded. Boiling medicinal plants is most widely done and considered more effective. Plants with the highest ICS value in the community of Kembang Paseban Village are capo leaves (Blumea balsamifera L.) and keriki leaves (Jatropha curcas L.).

Abstract

This research was conducted  to reveal the effect of the Gibberellins concentration  (GA3) on the content of crude protein (CP), acid detergent fiber (ADF) and neutral detergent fiber (NDF) of Calopogonium caeruleum. The design of experiment was the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) in factorial arrangement. The first factors were the concentrations of GA3 namely 0, 100, 200, 300, 400 and 500 ppm, for G0,G1, G2, G3, G4, and G5 respectively and the second factors were the soaking time at 6, 12 and 24 h, for T1, T2 and T3 respectively. Each treatment has three replications. The results showed that there were not significant (P< 0.05) effect of the concentration of GA3 on the content of CP, ADF and NDF of Calopogonium caeruleum

Abstract

The aims of this study was to reveal the effectiveness of the use of Probio_FMplus broiler. Two hundret of day old chick (DOC) were used in this experiment. DOCs were randomly treated into five treatments with five replications consiting of eight DOCs. Treatments were the use of Probio_FMplus within drinking water of 0, 10, 15 and 20 ml/liter for treatment P0, P1, P2, P3and P4 respectively. The design of experiment was Completely Randomized Design with five treatments and five replications. Parametters measured were ration comsumption, weight gain, slaughter weight and feed conversion. The results of this experiment showed that the level of Probio_FMplus in drinking water did not significantly influence (P>0,05) on ration consumption, weight gain, slaughter weight and feed conversion. It could be concluded that the use of 10 ml/liter of Probio_FMplus in dringking waterwas the most effective in broiler. Kata kunci: probiotik, prebiotik, simbiotik, putak

Abstract

ABSTRAKIPA bukan sekedar penguasaan pengetahuan terhadap fakta, konsep maupun prinsip tetapi merupakan proses penemuan. Pembelajaran IPA esensialnya dilaksanakan terpadu disertai praktikum. Fakta di lapangan, guru  IPA bukan dengan dasar Pendidikan IPA, umumnya berlatar belakang pendidikan konsentrasi biologi, fisika maupun kimia saja, sehingga guru-guru pengajar IPA di SMP banyak yang kurang paham melakukan praktikum pada materi di luar jalur konsentrasi pendidikannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui dampak pendidikan parsial guru IPA terhadap pelaksanaan praktikum IPA. Metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Tempat penelitian tiga sekolah terbaik di kabupaten Ogan Ilir, pada guru IPA kelas VII semester gazal. pengumpulan data menggunakan istrumen berupa peneliti sendiri dibantu pedoman wawancara, Hasil wawancara mengukap bahwa latar pendidkan Parsial guru IPA sangat berdampak terhadap pelaksanaan praktikum IPA, Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan dampak yang timbul, pendidik merasa kurang percaya diri dalam melaksanakan, kurang yakin dalam menjawab pertanyaan pesertadidik terhadap hasil kegiatan praktikum yang ditemukan, bahkan ditiadakannya kegiatan praktikum.Kata kunci: Dampak pendidkan parsial. Abstract

Legundi, or Vitex trifolia (Verbenaceae), is an indigenous Indonesian plant that has been long used as traditional medicine. This study aims to explain the botany, secondary metabolites, benefits, and bioactivity of V. trifolia. The method used in this research is a literature review obtained online in 1996–2022, especially from Google Scholar, using the keywords V. trifolia, uses of V. trifolia, and bioactivity of V. trifolia. Description V. trifolia is a shrub or small tree; leaves are spread out with 1–5 leaves; compound flowers have a purple crown. The bioactivities of V. trifolia include anticancer, antiinflammatory, antimicrobial, antioxidant, antidiabetes mellitus, and hepatoprotective. The V. trifolia bioactivity as an anticancer is more prominent than the others. Some bioactive compounds against V. trifolia cancer are vitexicarpin, casticin, vitepyrroloids, rotundifuran, persicogenin, artemetin, luteolin, penduletin, vitexicarpin, chrysosplenol, vitexilactone, vitetrifolin, viterotulin, and vitexilactone. The compounds artemetin, casticin, and vitexilactone are associated with anticancer and antiinflammatory activity. Further study of anticancer compounds needs to be carried out so that the development of V. trifolia into a standardized herbal medicine, especially anticancer, can be developed.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan self efficacy mahasiswa biologi melalui tahapan pengembangan konseptual modifikasi model inkuiri. Tahapan pengembangan konseptual modifikasi model inkuiri menggunakan prosedur sintesis Lee and Jang dengan pendekatan Theory-driven conceptual Instructional Design Models tipe F1-O1-S1-A1 dan dilanjutkan dengan tahapan eksperimen menggunakan uji-t. Tahapan pengembangan konseptual modifikasi model inkuiri diawali dengan analisis studi literatur dan informasi terbaru yang berkaitan dengan pola ilmuwan bekerja serta melakukan proses validasi dengan teknik delphi tiga putaran. Sedangkan pada tahapan eksperimen meliputi uji pengaruh modifikasi model inkuiri dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan self efficacy mahasiswa biologi. Pengembangan konseptual modifikasi model inkuiri menghasilkan tujuh tahapan yaitu: 1) merumuskan masalah, 2) merumuskan hipotesis, 3) mengumpulkan data, 4) membandingkan komunikasi ilmiah antar kelompok, 5) membuat kesimpulan, 6) mengkomunikasikan hasil dan 7) mereview hasil melalui analisis kritis. Sedangkan pada tahapan eksperimen menggunakan uji-t diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,000, artinya bahwa mahasiswa yang mengimplementasikan modifikasi model inkuiri memiliki keterampilan berpikir kritis dan self efficacy lebih baik dibandingkan mahasiswa yang tidak mengimplementasikan modifikasi model inkuiri. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh maka dapatlah disimpulkan bahwasanya: tahapan modifikasi model inkuiri memberikan pengaruh untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan self efficacy mahasiswa biologi.

Abstract

The Jambi Province Communication and Information Office (Dinas Kominfo) is an agency who carry out work based on Law Number 23 of 2014 concerning Government Regions, with one of the affairs being the main task and function, namely statistical affairs sectoral. Regional Sectoral Statistics Performance refers to Presidential Regulation Number 39 of 2019 concerning One Indonesian Data (SDI), BPS Perka Number 4 of 2019 concerning the Implementation of Regional Sectoral Statistics. According to Law No. 16 of 1997 concerning Statistics, the types of statistics based on the purpose of their use consist of basic statistics which fully organized by BPS, sectoral statistics carried out by government agencies independently or together with BPS, as well as special statistics organized by institutions, organizations, individuals, and or other elements of society independently or together with BPS. Results Statistics organized by BPS are published in the Official Statistics Gazette (BRS) regularly and transparent so that the public can easily find out and or obtain the required data. Law No. 16/1997 also stipulates the establishment of the Statistical Society Forum as a forum to accommodate the aspirations of the statistical community, which is tasked with providing advice and consideration to BPS. These important points realize the implementation of the National Statistical System reliable and, effective. The role of Sectoral Statistics that must be carried out by the Ministry of Communication and Informatics is related to the provision of data development sector, assisting statistical activities in Other institutions, as well as any performance related to the methodology, education, and training in sectoral statistics. Data collection, presentation, and publication of quality data by the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, cannot be separated from the role of officers statisticians and data collectors. With regard to this Community Service (PPM) Program, the PPM Team In general, it is observed that in carrying out their work, Field Data Collecting Officers and Data Entry Officers often experience difficulties in terms of classification of data for each sector that is a priority for development, especially sectors Environment and Ecology. Entry clerks sometimes only present data individually descriptive in Ms. Excel, without being processed and without further analysis on certain software, in particular related to demographic, ecological, and environmental data. As a solution to the performance problems of Statistics/Data Collection Officers At the Jambi Province Communications and Information Office, upgrading was given in the form of training in the use of Mortpak software and training in data collection for the environmental sector and ecology.

Abstract

Pinang betara (Areca catechu Var. Betara) merupakan varietas pinang unggul di Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat Provinsi Jambi yang dipasarkan di berbagai Pasar lokal Provinsi hingga diekspor ke berbagai Negara, seperti India dan Pakistan. Masyarakat di daerah ini kebanyakan memiliki usaha bertani pinang dan merupakan sumber utama pendapatan rumah tangga petani dibandingkan kegiatan di bidang selain pertanian pinang. Namun dalam menjalankan usaha ini, petani mengalami hambatan salah satunya kurangnya kontinuitas produksi buah pinang. Ada saat dimana pohon pinang berkurang buahnya bahkan ada pinang yang berhenti berbuah. Hal inidisebabkan kurangnya pengetahuan petani akan hormone etilen. Sementara sumber untuk produksi hormone etilen ada dilingkungan mereka sendiri. Pemanfaatan hormone etilen alami ini dapat merangsang dan meningkatkan buah pinang. Disamping itu proses pematangan buah akan lebih cepat jika menggunakan hormone etilen alami ini. Potensi limbah pinang seperti pelepah, daun, dan sabut pinang sebagai sumber etilen alami tidak dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat. Hal ini dikarenakan kurangnya ilmu pengetahuan yang dimiliki masyarakat. Oleh karena itu kegiatan Pengabdian pada Masyarakat ini diharapkan nantinya dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan petani akan pemanfaatan limbah pinang sebagai sumber hormone etilen alami untuk meningkatkan produksi buah pinang. Jika produksi buah pinang meningkat, maka perekonomian masyarakat Desa Teluk Kulbi, Kecamatan Betara, Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat juga akan meningkat. Hasil Pengabdian menunjukkan masyarakat petani pinang di desa ini antusias memanfaatkan limbah pinang dalam mendukung pertumbuhan pinang sebagai hormone etilen alami. Hasil diskusi menyatakan bahwa panen buah pinang yang diperoleh warga mengalami peningkatan produksi buah hingga 30 %.
