Abstract

Intrinsic cognitive load is related with the load of processing information received. This study aims to control the intrinsic cognitive load students by applying chunking technique of the human reproductive system learning. The research was conducted at one of the public Senior High School in Tasikmalaya City on 2020/2021 academic year. The research method used is a quasi-experimental with a posttest only control group design. The research subject were 56 samples which were divided into two group, namely the experimental group and the control group. The sampling technique was carried out by purposive sampling. The instrument used in this study is a subjective rating scale with an assessment rubric of a scale of 1 – 8 including indicators of student responses about the material given by the teacher, student responses about prior knowledge, student responses about information components, and student responses in integrating information. The results show that learning using chunking techniques can help students process information better than conventional learning. The experimental group had a lower intrinsic cognitive load than the control group, so that the chunking technique can control students' intrinsic cognitive load.

Abstract

Extraneous cognitive load (ECL) is a related to the design or learning strategies in learning activities. This study aims to control students’ extraneous cognitive load by using chunking technique with writing is thinking in the human reproductive system learning. This research was conducted at one of the Senior High School in Tasikmalaya City for the 2020/2021 academic year. The research method used quasi-experimental with posttest only control group design. The research subjects were 56 samples divided into two groups, namely the experimental group (28 students) and the control group (28 students). The instrument used in this research is a subjective rating scale questionnaire with a scale of 1 to 8 including indicators of the student responses about the learning strategies used and student responses to the given task. The results showed that the students’ extraneous cognitive load of the experimental group was lower than the control group. Based on the result of statistic analysis using SPSS version 23 software, the students’ extraneous cognitive load between the experimental group and the control group was significantly different

Abstract

Student Worksheets (LKS) are used as a means or purpose to guide the implementation of teaching and learning activities and assist students in learning to be more directed towards practical activities. If the worksheets are arranged with good quality, the learning obtained by students will be of good quality too. This study aims to explain the results of the analysis, testing and reconstruction of the Human Respiratory System Worksheet used in SMA / MA Tasikmalaya and the subject of this study is the Student Worksheet (LKS) of the Human Respiratory System. The research method used was qualitative descriptive method with a total of 6 samples. The sampling technique using total sampling. This study uses instruments developed by the Lecturer TEAM namely conceptual analysis rubric, practical analysis rubric, and knowledge construction rubric as well as instruments based on scoring tables of the Vee Diagram component adapted by Novak & Gowin (1984). The results showed that still in terms of 1) conceptual, not in accordance with the demands of the Basic Competence curriculum 2) practical, the title / goal is not in accordance with the work steps and difficult to execute and not relevant to the objects / phenomena that arise 3) the construction of knowledge, the question has not led to the facts that arise, are not connected with the interpretation of the data and the conclusions that are built do not describe the title / purpose of the practical laboratory. Most of the worksheets have met the Diagram Vee component but have not yet met the maximum score so the quality needs to be improved. Therefore LKS Human Respiratory System still needs to be improved in terms of conceptual, practical and knowledge construction. Abstrak. Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) dijadikan sebagai sarana atau acuan untuk memandu pelaksanaan kegiatan belajar mengajar dan membantu siswa dalam belajar agar lebih terarah terutama pada kegiatan praktikum. Apabila LKS yang disusun dengan kualitas baik maka pembelajaran yang didapat siswa akan berkualitas baik pula. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan hasil analisis, ujicoba dan rekonstruksi LKS Sistem Pernapasan Manusia yang digunakan di SMA/MA Tasikmalaya dan subjek penelitian ini adalah Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) Sistem Pernapasan Manusia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan sampel penelitian berjumlah 6 sampel. Teknik sampling dilakukan secara total sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen yang dikembangkan oleh TIM Dosen yaitu rubrik analisis konseptual, rubrik analisis praktikal, dan rubrik analisis kontruksi pengetahuan serta dan instrumen berdasarkan tabel penskoran komponen Diagram Vee yang diadaptasi Novak & Gowin (1984). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masih dalam hal 1) konseptual, belum sesuai dengan tuntutan Kompetensi Dasar kurikulum 2) praktikal, judul/tujuan belum sesuai langkah kerja dan sulit dieksekusi serta tidak relevan dengan objek/fenomena yang muncul 3) kontruksi pengetahuan, pertanyaan belum mengarahkan pada fakta yang muncul, tidak dihubungkan dengan interpretasi data serta kesimpulan yang dibangun belum menggambarkan judul/tujuan praktikum. Sebagian besar LKS sudah memenuhi komponen Diagram Vee namun belum memenuhi skor maksimum sehingga kualitasnya perlu ditingkatkan. Oleh karenanya LKS Sistem Pernapasan Manusia masih perlu diperbaiki dari segi konseptual, praktikal dan kontruksi pengetahuan.

Abstract

Waste management is one of the efforts to reduce the impact of environmental damage. The existence of counseling or socialization and training on household waste management in the community of Puspamukti Village, Cigalontang District, Tasikmalaya Regency is expected to understand the importance of household waste management in an environmentally friendly way, namely by sorting organic and inorganic waste and applying the 3R principle (reuse, reduce and recycle). In addition, the community received training in worm cultivation using the utilization of cultivation media derived from organic waste and worm feed nutrition from organic waste as well as making valuable products.

Abstract

Studi ini menyoroti pentingnya komunikasi efektif dan kesadaran etis di kalangan mahasiswa dalam konteks lingkungan kampus yang semakin terhubung secara digital. Di era modern yang dipenuhi teknologi dan media sosial, mahasiswa menghadapi tantangan seperti konflik komunikasi online, penyebaran informasi palsu, dan cyberbullying. Melalui metode studi kasus, penelitian ini mengeksplorasi dampak rendahnya efektivitas komunikasi terhadap interaksi antar mahasiswa serta kontribusinya terhadap lingkungan akademik dan sosial di perguruan tinggi Tasikmalaya. Hasil wawancara dengan mahasiswa, dosen, dan tenaga administrasi mengungkapkan berbagai tantangan dalam komunikasi dan penggunaan media sosial. Penelitian juga membahas strategi pengembangan etika komunikasi melalui mata kuliah Pendidikan Pancasila dan proyek pembelajaran, serta pentingnya nilai-nilai etika dalam pembelajaran komunikasi di lingkungan kampus. Temuan ini menekankan perlunya meningkatkan pemahaman dan kesadaran akan komunikasi yang efektif dan beretika untuk membangun lingkungan kampus inklusif, beretika, dan responsif terhadap dinamika sosial modern.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the perception of Biology teachers towards Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning in the context of education. AR-based learning offers an interactive and immersive learning experience, which can improve understanding of difficult concepts as well as enrich students' experience in the learning process. However, the adoption of this technology in the classroom requires good readiness and understanding from the teacher. This study uses a qualitative approach with semi-structured interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) with 16 Biology teachers. The data analysis used used was the thematic analysis method. The results of the study show that most teachers consider AR as a very potential tool to increase student motivation and engagement. Teachers also report that AR allows for the visualization of abstract concepts in a more tangible and engaging way. There are several obstacles such as limited infrastructure, lack of training, and difficulties in integrating AR into the curriculum. This research provides important insights for the development of technology education and training policies for teachers in order to support the implementation of AR-based learning more broadly. Abstract

Pemanfaatan limbah kertas dan kardus perlu dikelola dengan baik dan salah satunya sebagai media pembelajaran matematika. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan di Madrasah Al-Ikhlas berjalan dengan lancar. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini yaitu memberikan pemahaman kepada orang tua yang memiliki anak sekolah dasar untuk bisa memanfaatkan limbah kertas dan kardus sebagai media pembelajaran berupa alat peraga matematika. Pemilihan target sasaran berdasarkan masih banyaknya orang tua yang memiliki siswa sekolah dasar serta limbah kertas dan kardus yang mudah ditemukan di lingkungan masyarakat sekitar. Bentuk kegiatan berupa penyuluhan terkait pemanfaatan limbah kertas dan kardus sebagai upaya dalam mengembangkan konsep matematis siswa sekolah dasar terutama dalam bidang geometri yang mencakup bangun datar dan bangun ruang. Pemberian materi secara ekspositori diikuti dengan diskusi tanya jawab serta simulasi pembuatan alat peraga bangun datar dan bangun ruang. Pemaparan difokuskan terhadap alat peraga bangun datar dan bangun ruang untuk meningkatkan konsep matematika sekolah dasar. Selama kegiatan diskusi, peserta memberikan respon yang baik dan antusias yang tinggi untuk mengikutinya. Rata-rata nilai Pre-test sebesar 45 dan nilai Post-test sebesar 70 yang menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman peserta dalam memanfaatkan limbah kerta dan kardus. Hasil dari kegiatan ini memberikan keterampilan dalam membuat media pembelajaran berupa alat peraga bangun datar dan bangun ruang umtuk memfasilitasi pembelajaran matematika sekolah dasar di lingkungan keluarga.

Abstract

Introduction: Cemara Beach in Ciheras Village, Cipatujah District is one of the tourist attractions in Tasikmalaya Regency that has considerable potential to be used as ecotourism. However, these aquatic resources have not been utilized as ecotourism areas due to the lack of information about the potential known to the community Objective: The purpose of this service was to provide education about the importance of environmental sustainability and to recognize the potential of Cemara Beach which can be used as ecotourism. Method: This public service is carried out using the counseling or socialization method so that it is hoped that the community can understand the importance of preserving the environment of Cemara Beach and recognize the potential of Cemara Beach which can be used as an ecotourism development. Result: The results show that the community is able to understand the importance of preserving the environment and can recognize the potential of Cemara Beach which can be used as ecotourism by independently developing Cemara Beach ecotourism. Conclusion: Community service activities in Ciheras Village received a positive response from the community that the importance of educating people about preserving the environment based on ecotourism means utilizing the coastal environment without damaging or disturbing the environment and culture of the local community.

Abstract

Biological specimen preservation techniques have an important role in supporting educational, research and conservation activities. However, conventional methods using harmful chemicals like formalin pose risks to health and the environment. This community service activity aimed to introduce environmentally friendly wet preservation techniques for marine invertebrates and algae as safer alternatives. The program consisted of three sessions: theoretical training, practical demonstrations, and fieldwork in coastal areas. A total of 47 biology education students (class of 2023) participated, successfully collecting and preserving 15 specimens using eco-friendly materials such as 70% ethanol and glycerin. Evaluation showed the preserved specimens maintained good quality and were suitable as biology learning media. Additionally, the activity increased participants’ awareness of marine biodiversity conservation and provided tangible support for sustainable, eco-conscious biology education.
