Abstract

5G wireless communication technology offers faster data transmission speeds, more stable connections, and greatercapacity and bandwidth compared to previous networks. However, more advanced antenna technology must bedeveloped to overcome propagation and bandwidth problems at mmWave frequencies. The antenna is the maincomponent of the 5G wireless communication system, which uses mmWave frequencies. The purpose of this research isto design a U-slot rectangular microstrip antenna to increase bandwidth at the 26 GHz frequency. The slot-U method onthe rectangular microstrip antenna patch is used to enhance bandwidth. To realize the research method, an antennawas designed without and with a U-slot using analytical calculations, then a simulation was carried out by comparingthe microstrip antenna designs with and without a U-slot, after which an evaluation of the performance of the antennaparameters was carried out. The simulation results show that the U-slot rectangular microstrip antenna design showsan increase in bandwidth, gain, and directivity of 119.14%, 42.66%, and 18.79%, respectively, compared to therectangular microstrip antenna without slots. The U-slot rectangular microstrip antenna design has succeeded inincreasing bandwidth and other performance parameters, so it can be recommended for mmWave 5G applications.

Abstract

5G technology utilizes millimeter wave frequencies, particularly 26 GHz, to enable high-speed and low-latency communication services. However, the use of high frequencies presents challenges such as limited coverage area and signal penetration, requiring innovative antenna designs. This study aims to design and optimize a 1×2 rectangular array antenna with a U-slot for 5G applications operating at 26 GHz. The design process involves analytical calculations and simulations using CST Studio Suite software. The performance parameters evaluated are return loss, bandwidth, VSWR, and gain. The simulation results show that the designed antenna has a achieves a bandwidth of 3.51 GHz and a gain of 5.46 dB, which meets the desired specifications for 5G applications. In addition, the integration of U slots improves bandwidth efficiency, while the array configuration significantly improves the gain of the antenna. This antenna is expected to provide effective support for 5G network, along with the increasing demand for robust and efficient wireless communication systems.  Keywords: Antenna array, microstrip, U-slot, millimeter wave, 5G

Abstract

Perkembangan teknlogi pada generasi millenial semakin berdampak signifikan. Anak-anak sering menggunakan ponsel untuk bermain game dan menonton konten internet tanpa pengawasan orang tua. Orang tua khawatir anak terpapar konten negatif yang dapat memengaruhi perilaku karena orang tua kekurangan waktu dan pengetahuan. Oleh karena itu, orang tua dan guru pada lembaga Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini dapat dilatih mengenai pengawasan pengasuhan digital. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk membantu pemahaman orang tua dan guru mengenai mengawasi penggunaan ponsel anak dengan aplikasi Google Family Link dan meningkatkan keterampilannya di wilayah Kulim, Kota Pekanbaru. Para peserta berpartisipasi aktif saat mengikuti pelatihan sehingga pelatihan berjalan lancar sesuai rencana. Peserta menunjukkan respons yang positif, antusiasme, dan dorongan untuk mengikuti kegiatan melalui pendekatan pelatihan secara praktek dan sharing informasi. Dengan demikian diharapkan kegiatan pengabdian ini mampu menciptakan lingkungan digital yang lebih aman dan mendukung bagi perkembangan fisik dan psikis anak-anak menjadi lebih baik dan sehat.

Abstract

Kebutuhan akan layanan internet semakin meningkat di Era Digital. Jaringan FTTH memanfaatkan serat optik sebagai media transmisinya untuk menyediakan layanan internet dengan kecepatan tinggi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menilai nilai redaman dan menghitung nilai power link budget pada jaringan FTTH di Kecamatan Payakumbuh Barat, Sumatera Barat. Tahapan penelitian dimulai dengan observasi terhadap denah jaringan FTTH, dilakukan pengukuran jarak lokasi pengukuran, menentukan jumlah dan jenis perangkat pada arsitektur jaringan FTTH untuk menentukan total redaman. Selanjutnya, dilakukan metode penelitian analitik dengan menganalisis nilai redaman total dan power link budget pada jaringan FTTH di site Batusangkar di Kecamatan Payakumbuh Barat Sumatera Barat. Setelah mendapatkan redaman total, kemudian daya yang diterima sisi pelanggan dihitung power link budget. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa redaman total sebesar 19,95 dB sesuai standar kelayakan jaringan PT. Telkom Indonesia. Jaringan ini mampu menyediakan layanan internet yang stabil dan memadai bagi pelanggan dengan daya yang diterima pelanggan adalah20,95 dBm, yang masih berada dalam batas toleransi yang aman. Penelitian ini sangat membantu dalam pengembangan dan optimalisasi jaringan FTTH. Kata kunci:Jaringan FTTH, serat optik, power link budget, daya terima.

Abstract

WiFi performance is highly dependent on the quality of the antenna as a system for transmitting and receiving electromagnetic signals. A 1×2 microstrip array antenna for 2.4 GHz WiFi applications with truncated corner and partial ground techniques has been successfully designed and simulated. The adjustment of the truncated corner strategy is to cut the four corners in a rectangular shape on the fix side and the fractional ground strategy on the ground plane. The recreation was carried out utilizing CST program. The results showed an increase in antenna performance in terms of return loss, bandwidth, and gain. The designed antenna showed a return loss of -28.57 dB, a bandwidth of 657MHz, and a gain of 6.05 dBi.These results indicate that the combination of array and structural modifications can significantly improve the performance of microstrip antennas for WiFi applications.
