Abstract

One of the skills that must be mastered by students is speaking English. However, not all students have confidence in speaking English in front of many people. Both female and male students can feel speaking anxiety which will affect their speaking performance. This study was conducted on 12th grade high school students. Therefore, the aim of this study is to determine the speaking anxiety level of each gender, the relationship between speaking anxiety and speaking performance, and the factors that influenced speaking anxiety in each gender. This research uses quantitative research with correlation studies. Female students proved to be more confident to speak English than male students. In addition, speaking anxiety has a very high relationship with speaking performance. That means, speaking anxiety greatly affects speaking performance for both female and male students. Furthermore, female students experience speaking anxiety as a result of test anxiety, whereas male students experience speaking anxiety as a result of communication apprehension, test anxiety, and fear of negative evaluation.

Abstract

Aims: Pregnant women who suffer from anemia are at risk of miscarriage, premature birth, low birth weight babies, and bleeding before and after delivery. Purpose: It is known the effectiveness of giving beetroot and spinach to increase hemoglobin levels in pregnant women in primary clinics in 2022. Methods: One-group "quasi-experiment" Designing a test with a pre- and post-test. Quasi-experimental studies are a type of experimental research that omits the use of a control group. Result: The average hemoglobin level of pregnant women before consuming beetroot is 10.8 gr / dl and after consuming beets 11.9 gr / dl 200 gr every day for 28 days the average hemoglobin level increases to 12.3 gr / dl. The average hemoglobin level of pregnant women before consuming spinach is 10.2 gr / dl and after consuming spinach every day for 28 days the average hemoglobin level increases to 11.4 gr / dl. With a maximal number of 11.9 gr / dl, the p value >0.05 Conclusion and Advice: Beetroot and spinach consumption is associated with increased hemoglobin levels in pregnant women and offers a safe and healthy alternative to fe tablets for women who may suffer from their uncomfortable side effects, such as nausea, vomiting, constipation, heartburn, and stomach cramps. Pregnant women with anemia are often advised to eat beets or spinach every day so that their hemoglobin levels can rise as quickly as possible.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of problem-based learning on the ability of physics science literacy at SMAN 4 Bengkulu City. The research was conducted in class XI IPA 2. The method used was a pre-experiment with a one group pretest-posttest design. The first stage is the assessment of the test in the form of a pretest (initial test) after which it is given the learning treatment using the problem-based learning model. The last step is given a final test in the form of a posttest. There is an influence on the results of hypothesis testing and the results of students' scientific literacy ability tests before being given treatment and after being given treatment. The test results were hypothesized using the help of SPSS software version 25 obtained H_0 was rejected and H_1 was accepted, using the problem based learning learning model on students' scientific literacy skills on the concept of material Elasticity and Hooke's Law seen from the test results which showed an average posttest result of 80.19% higher than the pretest average (48.52%). Based on the results of the hypothesis test, there is an effect of problem-based learning on the scientific literacy abilities of physics students at SMAN 4 Bengkulu City.
