Abstract

This study analyzes academic writing competence among teachers at SMA Negeri 6 Pontianak using Talcott Parsons' AGIL theory. This study involves nine teachers with job classifications IVa/b as participants. Employing qualitative methods, data were collected through in-depth interviews, academic paper observations, and performance document reviews. In the digital age, writing skills are crucial for educators adapting to evolving education trends. Findings reveal inadequate adaptation to educational policies and limited commitment to teacher professionalism. Despite achieving commitment to academic writing, teachers focus on cognitive goals, neglecting practical applications in the classroom and facing resource planning constraints. There is a moderate integration of research findings into teaching tasks. Competence development is sporadic, with a significant percentage having not undergone training, and All respondents lack support for research funding latency. Urgent actions are necessary to improve teachers' policy adaptation, broaden academic writing goals to include practical applications, enhance resource planning, and provide consistent support for competence development through training and financial assistance. This research emphasizes the critical need for comprehensive improvements to address current challenges in teacher professionalism and academic writing competencies, contributing valuable insights for educational policy and practice

Abstract

This governance framework is designed to strengthen school resilience. As the world grows increasingly complex and unstable, existing challenges are exacerbated and new ones emerge, including academic schedule disruptions, financial constraints, and sociocultural or environmental crises. A school's ability to endure challenges and adapt to changing conditions is arguably one of the most critical governance principles at this stage. We argue that a strong governance framework that prioritizes transparency, accountability, stakeholder participation, and leadership competence is key to fostering resilience. This conceptual paper examines organizational resilience alongside educational leadership to assess a school’s capacity for prevention, responsiveness, adaptability, and transformation when facing adversity. The article emphasizes key governance approaches such as stakeholder engagement, policy formulation, resource allocation, and the cultivation of an organizational culture that enables schools to withstand all stages of difficulty. The central premise is that promoting educational governance principles goes beyond mere administrative compliance and requires strategic planning to ensure educational institutions are proactive in addressing current issues while maintaining relevance for students and communities.

Abstract

This research aims at investigating and finding out whether storigami is effective in teaching English vocabulary for vocational higher students. Based on the researchers’ observation, most of the students have lack of vocabulary though in mastering English vocabulary is an essential thing that should be known and mastered, especially for vocational higher students who will directly face the working situation. This problem happened because, in their perspective, understanding vocabulary only can be reached through translation and memorization. The subject of this research was taken two classes purposively named control class and experimental class. The samples were taken by determining specific characteristics of students during the learning process. The experiment class applied Storigami as the treatment, while the control class applied the Grammar Translation Method (GTM). Before applying the treatment, a pre-test was conducted for both classes with the same questions. Then, after the treatment, a post-test was conducted for both classes. After collecting and analyzing the data, the researchers found that teaching vocabulary by Storigami is more effective than GTM. The finding showed that T0 :2.639 > T.Tabel: 2.01 means the null hypothesis is rejected and the experiment hypothesis is accepted, or there is any significance between X and Y variables. Furthermore, the mean score of the post-test in the experiment class is higher than the mean score in the control class. It happened because teaching vocabulary by using Storigami is more fascinating for students, and origami can be applied to building students’ English vocabulary and students’ creative thinking
