Abstract

Internalizing Islamic values in school learning. During this time, the responsibility has been placed more on the teacher of Islamic Religious Education, while teachers of other subjects are more focused on the general learning material. This led to the internalization of Islamic values through one path considered less successful in shaping student religious behavior. Indicators of this failure are the rise in criminal acts, asylum, drug use, and other violations among students and adolescents. So, there needs to be a change in the school curriculum that places the cultivation of Islamic values at the centre of attention from an early age, by integrating religious values into all subjects, including mathematics. This research aims to find an effective method of dealing with the moral problems faced by elementary school students. Several previous studies have explored mathematical concepts in the Qur'an, and the results show that Islamic values in the learning of mathematics can be internalized by paying attention to the relevant verses of the Quran. The research is carried out through descriptive methods with the study of literature, using various sources such as theses, research reports, articles, and books. The results show that the Islamic values in mathematical learning integration al-Qur'an can be internalized to students by applying the strategy of infusion, analogy, narration, and uswah hasanah.

Abstract

This type of research is qualitative-descriptive. This research was conducted in three schools with 112 students. Subject selection was carried out using the purposive sampling technique with criteria, namely students who had errors in solving math problems. The research data consisted of answers, recordings of semi-structured interview results, and students' think-aloud results. Through these three pieces of data, categories of errors in solving math problems will be seen based on Newman's theory (1997) and indicators of students' thinking stages towards solving math problems proposed by Bloom (1956). Data analysis was carried out through the stages of reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The findings revealed that students with reading errors had a thinking structure capable of deciphering known information during the remembering stage, but they had difficulty recognizing images. so that the structure of thinking that is owned has not been able to fulfill the complete recall stage. Furthermore, the thinking structure of students who have misunderstood is only able to fulfill the stages of remembering, but at the interpreting stage, students cannot do it perfectly.

Abstract

Computational thinking can make it easier for students to solve mathematical problems because it involves various skills and techniques that train students to formulate complex problems into simple ones. However, the current learning approach limits students from developing computational thinking skills. Teachers tend not to innovate and are more dominant in using monotonous learning which results in low computational thinking skills for students. Reflection is carried out to stimulate the transformation of students' computational thinking processes. This study aims to describe the transformation of students' computational thinking processes in solving mathematical problems through reflection. This type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The research data consists of student answers, think-aloud results, and semi-structured interview results. The results showed that students with low problem-solving abilities experienced assimilation at the decomposition stage only, while at the pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithmic thinking stages students experienced accommodation. This is because in formulating strategies and implementing plans students need reflection to recognize patterns, apply patterns, draw conclusions about solutions, and complete incomplete algorithms. Meanwhile, students who have moderate problem-solving abilities experience assimilation at the decomposition and pattern recognition stages, while at the abstraction and algorithmic thinking stages accommodation occurs. This is because in implementing plans students need reflection to correct errors in using patterns, draw conclusions, and complete algorithms.

Abstract

Mathematics learning is often considered abstract and less relevant to real life, making it difficult for students to understand the concept. Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) offers an approach that helps students build understanding through real situations. The Peresean tradition with its competition structure and cultural values has the potential to be a concrete and meaningful combination learning context. This study aims to design a realistic mathematics learning design that integrates the Peresean tradition into a combination of materials at the Senior High School level. The main problem behind this study is the low understanding of students towards the combination concept due to the delivery of material that is too abstract and has minimal relevance to real life. The RME approach offers a solution through the use of the real context of the Peresean Tradition which was chosen because it has a competition structure that has the potential to be mathematically modeled in the combination context, such as selecting opponents or compiling match schemes. This study uses a qualitative approach with the type of design research in the development studies category. The research process is limited to the preliminary design stage, which includes context analysis, literature studies, and the development of learning designs. The research results are in the form of a theoretical and contextual culture-based learning design, which is validated reflectively based on RME principles and suitability to the curriculum.
