Abstract

Abstract

Sugar is a strategic commodity that plays an important role. As the primary sweetener, the use of sugar has not yet been completely replaced by other sweeteners. Another essential role can also be seen in the extent of linkages in downstream industries, such as food and beverage, refined sugar, and pharmaceutical industries. This research aims to analyze what factors influence the supply of sugar and the elasticity of the sugar supply in Indonesia. This research uses secondary data in the form of time series data between 1992-2021. The analytical method that will be used quantitative method. The quantitative method uses a simultaneous equation modeling approach, where each equation is estimated using the Two-Stage Least Square (2SLS) method. Data processing in this research was carried out using the Microsoft Excel 2010 and EViews 12. The research results show that the factors that influence the supply of sugar in Indonesia include the amount of production, imports, exports and Indonesian sugar stocks. The amount of Indonesian sugar production is controlled by sugar-cane production and yield, with positive elasticity. Domestic sugar consumption affects the number of Indonesian sugar imports with positive elasticity, while exchange rate and sugar production affect the number of imports with negative elasticity. Domestic sugar prices affect the amount of Indonesian sugar export with negative elasticity, while GDP have a value positive elasticity. Sugar stock is the identity function of the previous year's sugar supply and the previous year's sugar consumption. The total supply of Indonesian sugar is the identity function of sugar production, sugar imports, sugar exports, and year-end sugar stocks.

The results showed that evaluation of effectiveness the auction market for crumb rubber seen from the price in line with the international market, the quality according to SNI standards and 98% of farmers had fulfilled the 60% KKK, the average of quantity (volume) of crumb rubber every farmer was in a low category, the number of farmers who participated auctions in the five years ago still increased. Farmers' perceptions of the auction market institution for crumb rubber based on the proportion test of more than 50% mean the auction market in KUD has a high level of effectiveness and is feasible to run.

Abstract

The utilization of Moringa in food processing, herbal medicine, and animal feed makes this plant attractive to researchers for testing its effectiveness and entrepreneurs for making it a business commodity. PT ABC is one of the companies processing Moringa into various derivative products. PT ABC is the largest company in Central Java, establishing Blora as the centre of the Moringa commodity. The untapped potential of Moringa, with its high economic value, has driven the government to aspire to make Moringa an icon of Blora Regency, allowing the community to capitalize on it as a business commodity. This study analyzes the added value and profitability of Moringa Capsule and Moringa Infusion products. Applying the Hayami method, the analysis identifies Moringa Capsules as having a higher added value ratio than Moringa Infusions. Profitability assessments, encompassing production costs, break-even points, and operational efficiency, confirm that both products generate substantial profits. The company operates above the break-even point, with profitability of IDR 64,529 for capsules and IDR 22,387 for infusions. These findings reveal the economic potential of Moringa-based products with profitability margins of 30.97 per cent for Moringa Capsule and 15.35 per cent for Moringa Infusions. These margins highlight the viability of expanding production and tapping into new markets. Blora can strengthen its competitiveness in national and international markets by promoting innovation in product development. Practical implications include diversifying product offerings to meet evolving consumer demands and leveraging profitability data to attract investment, ultimately enhancing rural incomes and economic resilience.

Abstract

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) launched by the United Nations (UN) pay special attention to gender issues in sustainable development, in SDG number 5 (five), namely gender equality. Therefore, the implementation of gender roles in sustainable development in Indonesia, especially in agribusiness development, is expected to reduce the level of gender inequality and empower all women. However, it was found that in some areas, women are limited in farming activities. Women are only involved in activities that require minimal resources, while their access to these resources and opportunities to participate in decision-making remain limited. This study aims to analyse the role of women in maize farming in Tanah Laut District in terms of three main aspects: role and participation, access to resources, and power in decision-making. The data used were primary and secondary data. Data analysis used descriptive qualitative and quantitative analyses using the Gender Dimensions Framework (GDF) approach. Quantitative analysis was conducted to test the significance of gender roles in maize farming using the independent T-test and Mann-Whitney test. The results show that women farmers can participate in all maize productive activities. The level of women's participation tends to be high in the activities of seeding, planting and harvesting. Women do not dominate any of the resources in the access and control profiles. However, based on farm management, in general, female farmers are not much different in terms of average planting area, number of harvests, productivity and price received compared to male farmers. Women and men have equal power in decision-making.
