This study uses a case study approach with data collection methods in the form of observations, interviews and questionnaires. Observations are made to obtain data sources from direct sources. Interviews were conducted to find out whether the places visited had historical stories, legends or folktales that could be translated into English, and also to find out the obstacles or challenges faced during learning using PBL. A questionnaire was used to identify learning experiences in the Indonesian-English translation class using PBL. Respondents were students of the 6th semester of the English language education program who took part in the English-Indonesian translation course. Data is presented in the form of descriptive explanations and also supported by graph data to facilitate the presentation. This study shows that the use of PBL provides benefits in forming independent learners, improving critical thinking and can improve attitudes in collaboration with peers. However, there are still obstacles and challenges in translation courses using PBL, namely at the beginning of the lecture in the form of less preparation time, adaptation with group mates and also the location of observations that are located some distance from the campus or where students are, and there are difficulties in translating cultural words found.Key words: PBL, Translation, Learning Experience

Abstract

One of the important elements that must be possessed so that a village can carry out government functions and maintain the existence of the village is to regulate the lives of village communities through public policy. However, village officials, especially the village head and the Sidomakmur Village Consultative Body, still have low competence in formulating public policies. Therefore, this training seeks to provide knowledge and assistance regarding public policy analysis for Sidomakmur Village officials. This training method is mentoring by providing material and discussions. The results of the training showed that all training participants received significant marks regarding their understanding of public policy. Thus, it can be concluded that the knowledge, understanding and competence of public policy analysis training participants has changed for the better.

Abstract

Credit is one of the largest and most important components of wealth compared to other assets. Therefore, to obtain maximum interest (income) from the loan, the bank concerned must pay special attention to the loan. Therefore, a good management system, such as a management system called internal control, is one of the most important factors in business success. Internal control is policies and mechanisms, other than accounting system control, which are created by management with the belief that the company's goals will be achieved, so that good internal control will bring benefits to business activities, and all activities can be controlled well. This study investigates the implementation of internal control systems in credit provision at Bank Rakyat Indonesia Regional Office (BRI RO) Palembang, emphasizing their critical role in maximizing interest income from loans. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the research assesses the effectiveness of COSO's five control components control environment, risk assessment, control activities, information and communication, and monitoring. Despite challenges, the study finds that internal controls are effective, supported by skilled employee competencies aligned with their responsibilities. The findings underscore the significance of robust internal control practices in enhancing credit management efficiency and mitigating risks. This research provides practical insights for improving internal control mechanisms to optimize credit operations and ensure financial stability at BRI RO Palembang.

Abstract

Employee performance is the result of carrying out the tasks assigned to employees but many organizations require employees to further improve their abilities and skills at work (Hasibuan, 2013). Wirawan (2009) explained various factors influencing the decline in employee performance such as work stress and job satisfaction. Employees who feel satisfied with their work tend to be more productive, while those who do not feel satisfied tend to have low productivity. Employee performance will improve if employees are satisfied with their jobs because their needs and expectations have been met. Work stress and job satisfaction play an important role in influencing employee performance. This study used a quantitative method and data were collected by distributing questionnaires. The population in this study was all employees at the Secretariat of the General Election Commission (KPU) of Bandar Lampung City with a total of 30 people. Determination of the sample used a saturated sampling technique so the entire population was used as the sample. Validity, reliability, normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity tests were conducted to ensure data quality. The results of the study indicate that work stress has a negative effect on employee performance, while job satisfaction has a positive effect on employee performance. Based on the t-test, the work stress variable has a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, and the job satisfaction variable has a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05, indicating that both variables significantly affect employee performance. The coefficient of determination test (R2) obtains a value of 78.3 meaning that work stress and job satisfaction contribute 78,3% of the influence on employee performance.

Abstract

Digital transformation in public services has become a pressing need in the modern era, particularly in the field of population administration. The Anjungan Dukcapil Mandiri (ADM) program represents a strategic innovation by Indonesia’s Ministry of Home Affairs aimed at enabling citizens to independently print civil registration documents, thereby reducing reliance on conventional bureaucratic services. This study evaluates the input aspect of ADM implementation in Bandar Lampung City using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model, focusing on regulatory readiness, human resource capabilities, infrastructure availability, and budget support. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, involving in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document analysis. The findings reveal that despite the existence of national-level regulatory support, implementation at the regional level is hampered by the absence of local technical Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), limited availability of ADM machines, inadequate technical training for operators, and insufficient public outreach. These input constraints directly affect the program’s ability to function efficiently and equitably across the population. The study concludes that the success of ADM as a digital service innovation relies heavily on the quality and sufficiency of input resources. Strategic interventions are necessary, including the expansion of ADM units, capacity-building for service personnel, and the formulation of an inclusive and sustainable public communication strategy to enhance public engagement and service utilization.

Abstract

This study investigated how pre-service EFL (English as a Foreign Language) teachers perceived the use of podcasts as a reflective tool to improve their motivation, critical thinking, and English language skills. The primary goal was to find out how podcasts can reinforce language competencies, reflective practice, professional development, and richer and deeper learning. Case study was the method used whereby 34 students of a private Indonesian university participated in a two-week podcasting exercise. Semi-structured interviews and surveys were the methods used to gather data. It revealed that the podcasts encouraged self-expression, critical reflection, and growing confidence alongside linguistic skill, in terms of listening and speaking. In addition to this, participants reported that freedom to learn alone had increased motivation and satisfaction levels. The study makes several recommendations for improving the use of podcasts in EFL contexts, including making sure the content is credible, incorporating interactive elements to prevent passive learning, and completely incorporating podcasts into the EFL curriculum. It is recommended that future studies investigate the use of podcasts in diverse educational contexts and look into their long-term effects. All things considered, the study shows that podcasts are a versatile and useful tool that can enhance future EFL teachers' language learning and professional development.

Abstract

Braja Kencana Village, a buffer village of Way Kambas National Park (TNWK) in East Lampung Regency, faces significant risks from natural disasters, especially forest fires and floods. The increase in the frequency and intensity of disasters, as well as exacerbated by climate change, requires a community-based disaster risk reduction program that can increase public awareness and readiness in disaster mitigation and response. This study aims to examine the process of community empowerment around TNWK in disaster mitigation, especially forest fires. This research method uses a qualitative approach with interviews, observations, and documentation to explore information from key informants such as village officials, members of the Forest Farmers Group (KTH), and members of the Polhut Partner Community (MMP). The results of the study show that community empowerment in Braja Kencana Village is carried out through three stages of empowerment, namely the awareness stage, the capacity stage, and the awareness stage. The awareness stage was carried out through effective socialization to KTH members about the importance of empowerment programs and how they can contribute. The capacity building stage includes various educational and socialization activities to improve community knowledge and skills in disaster mitigation. The empowerment stage is in the form of providing facilities from TNWK such as land and grass seeds for animal feed, as well as sustainable business development to increase the economic independence of the community.

Abstract

Several decades ago, internal conflicts in ASEAN countries became the world's spotlight. Even the impact is very alarming because it causes humanitarian crises, trauma due to armed conflict, violent extremism, and losses to government. Then came the time of international trade tension which had an impact on the economic growth of ASEAN countries. The purpose of this study is to reveal the role of the conflict resolution approach in efforts to prevent regional conflicts in the era of digitalization. Not without reason, the still lack of mutual trust and a less proactive attitude in addressing the situation of conflict between countries made the conflicting ASEAN countries decide to resolve bilaterally or resolve cases to external parties outside ASEAN. The era of digitalization is a hot issue in the trade war and can trigger tension between ASEAN countries. Of course this is not expected, therefore prevention efforts must be made. The literature study method was chosen to examine various findings that support this research to build a strategic model of the importance of the conflict resolution approach in the digitalization era. The results of the study stated that the government must show its credibility and put forward a proactive attitude, ethics in doing business, and building mutual trust and good cooperation between ASEAN countries. A conflict resolution approach can be an alternative to preventing regional conflicts by means of non-violence.
