Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of capital expenditure and personnel expenditure on regional economic growth in western Indonesia. The data used is a panel data of 10 provinces during the period 2008-2015. The econometric models used to analyze the functional relationship of these variables consisted of the fixed effect method of panel regression, and the Granger causality test. The study found that capital expenditure has a positive but not significant effect on regional economic growth. Conversely, personnel expenditure has a positive and significant effect. Granger causality test results indicate a one-way causality from personnel expenditure and capital expenditure to economic growth and from personnel expenditure to capital expenditure.Keywords: Economic Growth, Capital Expenditure, Personnel Expenditure, Panel Regression and Granger causality test

Abstract

The Artificial Insemination (AI) aims to develop the potential of the cattle reproduction comprehensively. The success of AI results is highly dependent on the level of livestock fertility. Therefore, improv the quality and quantity of semen could be done by hormone induction. However, hormone prices are expensive. This problem could be overcome using alternative way with the natural compound containing chrysin which might has the same function. The purpose of the study was analyze the potential of chrysin compound from Bungli plant (Oroxylum indicum) as fertilizer of males through bioinformatics approach. Methods performed through data search by webserver with the following stages: (1) Pubchem, (2) Swiss (3) Target Prediction, (4) Uniprot, (5) Protein Data Bank and (6) docking software using PyRx, PyMOL and Discovery Studio. The results showed that the chrysin compound interact with carbonic anhydrase (CA) expressed from the testes of the cattle, through van der Waals and Pi-Alkyl bonds. Chrysin is effective as CA ligand inducers based on affinity bonds (-8.4 kcal/mole) and more negatively than flavonol as a control compound with binding affinity (-6.2 kcal/mol). This suggests that chrysin is an effective compound as a potential drug for improved livestock fertility.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi ekologis dan ekonomis kerang bulu (Anadara antiquata) dan potensi ekonomis pemanfaatan Kerang bulu (A. antiquata) di Desa Sebong Pereh Bintan. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Januari 2018. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengambil sampel kerang bulu adalah Random sampling sebanyak 30 titik diperairan Desa Sebong Pereh Bintan. Teknik wawancara yang digunakan adalah Snowball sampling (bola salju), dimana responden yang dibutuhkan untuk peneliti pemula adalah minimal 30 orang. Pemanfaatan ekonomis Kerang bulu (A. antiquata) menggunakan rumus CPUE dan menghitung nilai manfaat langsung Kerang bulu (A. antiquata) di desa Sebong Pereh Bintan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata kelimpahan Kerang bulu (A. antiquata) di desa Sebong Pereh berkisar 5700 ind/ha dan kelimpahan Kerang bulu (A. antiquata) di desa Sebong Pereh Bintan tergolong sedang. Kondisi perairan di desa Sebong Pereh masih memenuhi baku mutu sehingga mendukung kehidupan Kerang bulu (A. antiquata). Total rata-rata hasil tangkapan berkisar 509,75 kg/minggu dengan rata-rata 51 trip/minggu. Pendapatan rata-rata nelayan Kerang bulu (A. antiquata) berkisar Rp. 339.833,-/bulan atau jika diakumulasikan berkisar Rp. 4.078.000,-/tahun. Penelitian lanjutan diperlukan terkait dengan analisis pertumbuhan Kerang bulu dengan data panjang berat, kajian stok kerang bulu (A. antiquata), dan pemanfaatan Kerang bulu (A. antiquata) pada saat musim teduh.

Abstract

Penelitian ini didasari oleh kurangnya media pembelajaran berbasis tiga dimensi pada pembelajaran bahasa mandarin tingkat dasar yang membahas mengenai hanzi. Oleh karena itu, pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis tiga dimensi yang membahas mengenai hanzi sangat dibutuhkan. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti mengembangkan media pembelajaran roda datar elemen piktograf. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu (1) mengetahui analisis kebutuhan guru dan siswa terhadap media pembelajaran roda datar elemen piktograf (2) mengembangkan desain media pembelajaran elemen piktograf, (3) mengetahui penilaian ahli media dan ahli materi terhadap media pembelajaran roda datar elemen piktograf. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan research and development (R&D) dengan lima tahapan, yaitu (1) potensi dan masalah, (2) pengumpulan data,  (3) desan produk, (4) validasi ahli, serta (5) revisi desain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik dan pendidik membutuhkan media pembelajaran untuk mempelajari hanzi. Kedua, desain media pembelajaran terdiri dari roda datar, standing media, dan kartu hanzi. Ketiga, hasil dari validasi ahli media mendapat nilai rata-rata 88 memiliki skor 4 termasuk dalam kategori sangat layak dan hasil dari validasi ahli materi mendapat nilai rata-rata 85 memiliki skor 4 termasuk kategori sangat layak.This study is based on the lack of three dimensional based learning media on basic level mandarin learning that discusses hanzi. Therefore, the development of three dimensional based learning media that discusses hanzi is necessary. In this study, the researcher developed pictograph elemet flat wheel learning media. The purposes of this study are (1) to find out the analysis of the needs of teachers and students toward the pictograph elemets flat wheel learning media. (2) to develop pictograph element learning media design, (3) to find out the assessment of media expert and material expert on pictograph element flat wheel learning media. This study was done using a research and development (R&D) approach with five stages, there are (1) potential and problems, (2) data collection, (3) product design, (4) expert validation,  (5) design revision. The results of this study showed that: First, both students and teachers need a learning media to learn hanzi. Second, the learning media design consists of flat wheel, standing media and hanzi cards. Third, the results of media expert validation got 88 as the average score and having a score of 4 which was included into the very feasible category and the results of material experts validation got 85 as the average score and having a score of 4 which was included into the very feasible category.

Abstract

This research aims to develop and implement animated learning videos as supporting media in English language learning to enhance the interest in learning among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 16 in Jambi City. In addition, this research also aims to test the quality of the developed animated video products. This research uses a research and development method with the ADDIE model through the stages of analysis, design, development, and evaluation. Data collection was carried out using observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The data was analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis. Based on the validation results from two media experts, which scored 90% and 85%, this animated video is categorized as suitable for use as supporting teaching material in the learning process. Additionally, the animated video has also been validated by one content expert with a score of 90%, which also falls into the category of being appropriate for use as a learning medium. The results of the trial conducted on 35 eighth-grade students showed a percentage score of 83%, proving that the animated video designed as a learning medium is a very engaging video and can enhance students' interest in learning English.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to find out students' problems with reading comprehension in the eleventh grade of Senior High School 2 Muaro Jambi. The research utilized qualitative questionnaires as an approach method. The population consisted of XI IPA students at SMAN 2 Muaro Jambi for the 2023 academic year and the sample consisted of 28 students from class XI IPA 3. The researcher used a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire in a predetermined form, namely a questionnaire. To find out these findings, tabulations were used to collect data from student scores to categorize 8 indicators of 16 questions and 5 student items that they answered and selected. After the results of the data are found, a classification of student scores is carried out using the Likert scale from Jamieson (2017). Based on the research findings, the indicators out of 8 were divided into 16 questions and the 5 items of reading comprehension ability they chose were Strongly agree (16%), Agree (34%), Undecided (3%), Disagree (2%), Strongly disagree (0%). have an average value agree. However, the overall average by the sum of all 5 items was summed and the result (89,6) is Strongly Agree. Furthermore, students' ability in reading comprehension gets a score of 59% which has been added to the Strongly Agree category. This shows that the level of ability in reading comprehension of students is in Strongly Agree, and it shows that the score in reading comprehension is still in Strongly Agree.Keywords: Students ability, reading comprehension

Abstract

Listening skills are techniques that contribute to the ability to absorb information accurately when communicating with others. This type of research was a quasi-experimental study of 133 people. Through a simple random selection procedure, 36 XI IPS 3 students were selected for the control class and 33 XI IPS 1 students were selected for the experimental class. A technique for collecting data by distributing questions to respondents. In this research, the data analysis technique used the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 21 for Windows. The results of this research showed that, (1) Students' listening skills in English subjects taught using audio-visual media have an average arithmetic score of 80,44, (2) The average listening skill of students in English subjects taught only by listening media (speakers) was 77,31, (3) Students’ Listening skills in English subjects taught using the audio-visual media were higher than students’ Listening skills in English subjects taught using listening audio (speaker), with a value of Sig. 0.000 < 0.05. The results showed that English students experienced a significant effect in listening skills after learning by video.

Abstract

This research investigates the errors made by third-semester students in the English Language Education Program at the University of Batanghari when using Simple Past Tense. The research aims to identify the types of errors based on Dulay et al.'s Surface Strategy taxonomy and explore the causes of errors. The research used a Descriptive Qualitative design. Research instruments included a writing test and documentation of test results. The findings revealed that students made various errors in using Simple Past Tense, with the error of omission constituting 57 error items (26.6%), error of addition constituting 37 items (16.6%), the error of misformation constituting 123 items (55.2%), and error of misordering constituting 6 items (1,6%) of total errors. The total of errors is 223 error items. The most recurring error is misformation, while misordering is the least common. The causes of errors are identified as overgeneralization, insufficient grammatical knowledge, and insufficient vocabulary knowledge.Keywords: Error analysis, simple past tense, surface strategy taxonomy

Abstract

Writing skills is the ability to express ideas or ideas into an essay. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of FASE E1 SAJ class students at SMA N 9 Jambi City in writing descriptive text using animated movies. This research uses qualitative as the research design and descriptive as the research method. researchers used tests given to students as research instruments, then the results of these tests were assessed and analyzed. The population is class phase students at SMA N 9 Jambi city for the 2022/2023 academic year and the sample is 34 students in class fase E1 saj. the researcher uses a score rubric to help assess students' grades and written tests to obtain data. Based on research findings, indicators of students' writing abilities, namely content (63,23), organization (66,23), grammar (65,23), vocabulary (63,73), mechanics (76,47) are at a great level. In addition, students' scores in writing descriptive texts have an average score (66,91).

Abstract

Muhadatsah learning in class X-AKL SMK Daarut Tauhiid Boarding School is carried out through project-based learning. Students have more real learning experiences, namely by practicing muhadatsah by making video projects which will be uploaded on the YouTube channel so that it provides the benefit of the wider community as a comparison or intensive learning. The gap in this study is focused on muhadatsah learning through project-based learning where the learning process is student-centered to gain knowledge and skills in learning. This study aims to analyze how muhadatsah learning is through project-based learning starting from planning, implementation process, and evaluation. Data collection was carried out by observation, interview, and documentation methods. In this study, researchers used descriptive qualitative methods, namely research methods by describing muhadatsah learning through project-based learning. The study results showed that muhadatsah learning through project-based learning in class X-AKL of Daarut Tauhiid Boarding School Vocational School with stages or paths that students must do during learning is quite clear and structured. Success can be seen in this project-based learning, where students actively collaborate, communicate, ask questions, and express opinions. Meanwhile, the drawback is that it requires a long time and limited media for making projects. From these results, it is suggested to be more intensive in monitoring the work of students' assignments so that time can be more effective at each meeting and to ask permission for media access to student dormitory supervisors.Keywords: Learning, muhadatsah, project-based learning
