Abstract

This study raises the issue of whether the Minnesota model in solving university selection physics questions gets the right results in terms of answers and time. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of using the Minnesota problem-solving model for the accuracy of answers and time in solving physics problems. The type of research is quantitative research with experimental methods. The population of this study was students of class XI from senior high school in Banda Aceh. The sample in this study was two classes. There was the experimental class and control class. Determination of the sample is done by purposive sampling. The approach used is a quantitative approach with the type of experimental research. The data was collected using a written test technique and data processing using an analysis of the effectiveness of the accuracy of the answers using an assessment rubric that has been validated and using t-test statistics, as well as the effectiveness of the use of time analysis based on the average time use of the two classes. The results of the data analysis showed that the average value of the experimental class using the Minnesota problem-solving model was higher than the control class, and the experimental class’s time usage was faster than the control class. It was stated that the Minnesota problem-solving model was effectively used in solving physics problems.

Abstract

Students' ability to extract information from nonfiction texts is still a challenge at the elementary school level, which is characterized by students' low ability to find information in nonfiction texts that are read. The purpose of the study was to improve students' ability to understand and find information from nonfiction texts. The research method used was classroom action research (CAR) with two cycles of implementation. The subjects of the study were 18 fourth grade students of SD Negeri 11 Jangka. Data were collected through tests, observations, and interviews. The results showed that the application of the CIRC model significantly improved students' understanding of nonfiction texts. Before the application of the model, the student completion rate only reached 39%, then increased to 72% in cycle II, and reached 89% in cycle II. In addition, student activity and teacher involvement in learning also increased significantly. The results showed that the CIRC model can be an effective strategy in improving students' reading comprehension skills in elementary schools.

Abstract

The ability of students to ask questions is one of the obstacles faced by teachers when teaching. Most students do not want to ask questions when the teacher gives the chance to ask questions. The low ability of students to ask questions was also influenced by the ability of teachers to raise the enthusiasm of students to ask questions also experienced by physics teachers in Aceh Tengah. Therefore, it is necessary to increase teacher professionalism in these activities. The purpose of this activity is to provide support to physics teachers on how to improve students' scientific questioning skills in physics lessons at SMA Aceh Tengah District. The target of Community Service activities in 2020, is the core teachers in the field of Physics in Aceh Tengah Regency, totaling 10 people. Implementation of assistance uses the Question Web-Based Learning (QWBL) learning model or the questions based learning model. Assistance material is the development of student worksheets based on questions or called the student activity question web worksheets (SQWS). SQWS is a question sheet that can link one question with other questions about the material being studied. The teacher's ability to improve students' scientific questioning skills in learning physics is measured using the Scientific Asking Skills Assessment Sheet (SASAS) or scientific questioning skills test assessment sheet. The results of the mentoring show that the teacher's ability to ask questions before going mentoring is in the average scientific category and less scientific, whereas after mentoring the average ability of the teacher to ask is in the scientific category and very scientific. This shows that the mentoring activity very helped physics teachers to improve students' scientific questioning skills at SMA Aceh Tengah district.

Abstract

Based on cognitive maturity, students of the Physics Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty - Unsyiah when they were at the education level in Senior High School and College were in the same category, namely the early adult stage. That requires students could adjust to the pattern of learning life in higher education, especially first-year students who are in a transition period from high school to college. The purpose of this study was to compare whether the learning achievements obtained by Physics Education Students, Teacher Training and Education Faculty - Unsyiah were better than the achievements achieved at Senior High Schools. This type of research is a comparative study with a quantitative approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a sample of 37 students of class 2018. The data was collected using the documentation method. Data were analyzed using the t-test equation. From the analysis, it can be seen that the results of the hypothesis test obtained are the t count = 7.05 with a significant level of = 0.05 and t table = 1.68, so the results are rejected H0 and accept Ha because of t count t table. It was concluded, that the learning achievement of Physics Materials from Physics Education Students, Teacher Training and Education Faculty - Unsyiah in the college was better than during high school.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Flipped Classroom learning model through the discussion method in improving students' conceptual understanding in physics learning. The population in this study consisted of all 49 eleventh-grade students, divided into a control class and an experimental class. The instruments used in this study were test instrument (two tier test) and non-test instruments (observation sheet and student response questionnaires). Students categorized as having a "known concept" in the control class increased to 67%, while in the experimental class, this increased to 88%. Students categorized as having a "misconception" in the control class decreased to 33%, and in the experimental class, this decreased to 20%. Students categorized as "guessing" in the control class decreased to 4%, while in the experimental class, this decreased to 0%. Students categorized as having an "unknown concept" in the control class decreased to 33%, while in the experimental class, this decreased to 24%. The results of the analysis of the student response questionnaire showed an average score of 72.25, which indicated to "good" category. The hypothesis test results revealed a ????????ount value of 5.605 > ???????????????????????? value of 1.67, indicating a significant difference in the improvement of conceptual understanding between students in the experimental and control class. Furthermore, the N-Gain analysis resulted in a score of 0.74, categorized as high. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Flipped classroom learning model through the discussion method positively influences students' conceptual understanding in physics learning.       Keywords: flipped classroom learning model, discussion method, conceptual understanding.

Abstract

Development of Heyzine Flipbook-Based E-Modul Integrated with PhET, Kahoot, and Padlet to Support Students’ Scientific Literacy. Objectives: This study aims to develop an interactive e-module based on the Heyzine Flipbook platform, integrated with PhET simulations, Kahoot quizzes, and Padlet reflections. The module is designed to support students’ scientific literacy, particularly on the topic of work and energy. The urgency of this research stems from the low scientific literacy performance of Indonesian students in the 2022 PISA assessment, which indicated that most students remain below the basic proficiency level in understanding science. Methods: This study used a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model, involving 32 students at SMA Negeri 1 Lhokseumawe. A one-group pretest-posttest design was applied. Data were obtained from expert validation sheets, essay-based tests, and student questionnaires. Validity and reliability were measured using Aiken’s V and inter-rater agreement. Practicality was analyzed through student feedback using quartiles. N-gain analysis was used to determine posttest improvement after using the e-module. Findings: The developed e-module was classified as highly feasible based on expert validation, with Aiken’s V scores of 0.915 for the media aspect and 0.900 for the content aspect, and inter-rater agreement values of 0.774 (media) and 0.765 (content). In terms of practicality, the e-module received very positive responses from students, with a score of 90.07%. Furthermore, the N-gain analysis yielded a score of 0.753, which falls into the high category, indicating that the e-module contributed to improving students’ scientific literacy. Conclusion: These results indicate that the developed Heyzine Flipbook-based e-module is feasible, practical, and has the potential to support the enhancement of students’ scientific literacy in 21st-century physics education. Keywords: heyzine flipbook, e-module, science literacy, PhET simulation, kahoot, padlet.
