In 2024, 3,030 people died in road accidents in Italy, an increase of seven deaths compared to the previous year. Lombardy was the region with the highest number of fatal road crashes, with 383 deaths. In Lazio, where Rome, the largest city and capital of the country, is located, 319 deadly road accidents occurred in 2024.
