As of March 2025, Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings was the leading chemical company in Japan in terms of total assets, which amounted to approximately *** trillion Japanese yen. Since other industries such as the transportation machinery industry and the automotive industry are dependent on industrial raw materials provided by the chemical industry, it is one of the most important and largest manufacturing industries in Japan.

The Tokyo-based company was established in 2005 and has several subsidiaries.
