Operating profit of airlines worldwide 2006-2025

In 2024, commercial airlines estimated to have roughly 61.4 billion U.S. dollars in operating income, which was almost the same as the previous year. This figure was also forecast to reach 67.5 billion U.S. dollars in 2025. Over the given period, there were dramatic profit losses in 2020 and 2021. These were directly related to the coronavirus pandemic since the global aviation industry was one of the most affected sectors by the pandemic.
