Video game skills of U.S. adults 2025, by gender

A February 2025 survey of adults in the United States found that men were generally more likely to rate their video game skills positively than women. Around 13 percent of male respondents reported having excellent video game skills, compared to only six percent of women. Similarly, more than one quarter of men described their gaming skills as good, while only 19 percent of female respondents did the same. Women were also more likely to rate their video game skills as poor or terrible, and more than one in four female respondents reported never having played video games.
