In 2023, the General Motors Company stated that more than 39 million pounds of recycled plastic were used in its vehicle production. Nearly 41 percent of this went into the making of wheelhouse liners. In 2023, the American automotive manufacturer had a zero waste performance of 94.6 percent, which is above GM's 2025 goal of achieving a 90 percent zero waste performance.
