Bank cards, or "cartes bancaires" in French, do not specifically distinguish between debit cards or credit cards. Carte Bancaires or CB is a payment scheme local to France that is co-branded with Visa and Mastercard. The majority of cards in the country are seemingly debit cards, but in general speech (like in this survey) the French tend to refer to any type of payment cards when using this term.
