In the score of the Regulation concerning European statistics on tourism, arrivals of residents (domestic) and non-residents (international) in tourist accommodation are defined as the number of people (tourists) arriving at tourist accommodation establishments. Arrivals in non-rented accommodation are not included. 
No age limit applies: Children are counted as well as adults, even if the overnight stays of children are free of charge.
Arrivals of same-day visitors (no overnight stay) are excluded.
Tourist accommodation corresponds to NACE_R2 codes I551-I553: Hotels; holiday and other short-stay accommodation; camping grounds, recreational vehicle parks and trailer parks.

Croatia drew the highest number of inbound tourists, with nearly ** million arrivals in tourist accommodation in 2023. Czechia and Poland were other popular destinations for international tourists staying overnight.
