VisualEditor/Feedback/Archive/2016/10
This page used the Structured Discussions extension to give structured discussions. It has since been converted to wikitext, so the content and history here are only an approximation of what was actually displayed at the time these comments were made. |
Post your feedback about using the visual editor. Please report bugs involving Parsoid at Talk:Parsoid instead.
If you are reporting a problem directly on this page, please include your web browser, computer operating system, and wiki skin (usually Vector, sometimes Monobook). The feedback tool within the visual editor will include your user agent details instead.
Use this page to tell the Wikimedia developers your ideas and issues about using the visual editor. The Editing team welcomes your feedback and ideas, especially on user interface decisions and the priorities for adding new features. All comments are read, in any language, but personal replies are not guaranteed.
Please note that the Wikimedia Foundation does not provide support for installing VisualEditor on third-party wikis.
You may also want to read a guide to optimize the visual editor's experience on your site, which details work necessary on the community side (such as translating or setting up citation systems).

ビジュアルエディターで、表の編集を行う際右寄せ,中央,左寄せなどの操作が出来ないと思うのですが行う方法はあるのでしょうか?

- This should translate roughly to "Is there a way to set Align right/center/left when you are editing a table on VE", Miya tells me.
- The ticket filed by the user was merged to https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T103276, which means the team is aware of this request, but they do not foresee working on it soon, at the moment. Elitre (WMF) (talk) 17:28, 7 October 2016 (UTC)

Content in the template fields

In templateData I set type=content, but still I see and edit only plain text. Then why each field has a button "Fall back to plain wikitext"? Sunpriat 15:23, 19 October 2016 (UTC)
- Some day, in the future, the tool will "enforce" the content type. "Fall back to plain wikitext" is a way to override that.
- For example, if the type is set to date, and you put a parser function such as {{subst:CURRENTYEAR}} in the field, then it will complain that this isn't a plain old date. (From the tool's perspective, that's a parser function.) But if you want it to accept that, then you would click "Fall back to plain wikitext", and it will let you put anything you want in the field.
- In the meantime, it's not a very useful button. Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 21:17, 20 October 2016 (UTC)

- You can certainly write RTL in the visual editor. Here on mw.org, you can change the input method from the menu that pops up when you click on the language displayed next to your username, at the very top of the page. Elitre (WMF) (talk) 19:15, 21 October 2016 (UTC)
- It looks like the visual editor is working out for you on the Farsi Wikipedia. Did you get a chance to try it again on Meta? You can label the language that you're using in the character styles menu (same menu as bold and italics), which is handy if you want a user page that has more than one language on it. Has anyone meet the same problem?
