Andrej Čretnik
Prof. Andrej Čretnik, MD, Ph.D., Med. Councilor was born in 1963 in Celje, Slovenia. He graduated from the Medical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia (1989). Dr. Čretnik earned a Master of Science (MSc) in 1999 (University of Ljubljana, Slovenia) and a Doctor of Sciences (Ph.D.) (Medical Sciences) in 2002 (University of Ljubljana, Slovenia). His additional education includes the Royal Liverpool University Hospital (GB, 1994) (Foot and Ankle Surgery, Hip Surgery); Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota (USA, 1996) (Spinal Surgery); Parkland Memorial Hospital, Dallas, Texas (USA, 1996) (Pelvic Surgery); Trauma Shock Center, Baltimore, Maryland (USA, 1999) (Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery); Health Science Center, University of Texas, Houston (USA, 2002) (Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery). He is the Head of the Department of Traumatology at the Surgical Clinic of the University Clinical Center Maribor, Slovenia. Dr. Čretnik has been a Medicolegal Expert at the Ministry of Justice in Slovenia since 2004 and a Medical Councilor (2008) at the Ministry of Health, Slovenia, since 2008. He is a member of the Medical Chamber of Slovenia, Slovene Medical Association, Slovene Trauma Association (past-president), Slovene Medicolegal Experts Association, SQAA (Slovenia, National Evaluator), and the European Society for Trauma and Emergency Surgery (ESTES), AO Trauma Society & AO Faculty (Arbeitsgruppe für Osteosynthesefragen, Davos, CH), past chairman of Quality Assurance Committee (Medical Faculty, University of Maribor, Slovenia), and current chairman of Medicolegal Experts Committee (Medical Faculty, University of Maribor, Slovenia).
