As global demand for climate-resilient, sustainable infrastructure intensifies, future infrastructure development should incorporate new technologies, improved planning, and a focus on sustainability. However, it faces various challenges due to climate change, rapid urbanisation, public engagement and opposition, inequity and access, and bureaucratic hurdles. This book showcases innovative strategies, technologies, and policies to reshape infrastructure systems for a sustainable future. The book comprises three main sections: Net-Zero Infrastructure , Sustainable Infrastructure Development, and Future Infrastructure Challenges and Opportunities. The book also seeks to encourage discussion on how to meet the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) while advancing global climate objectives and supporting a strong global economy, ultimately guiding the development of the next generation of sustainable infrastructure innovation.
