Sweden - Viking Stone Ship

Viking stone ship at Gettlinge, in the southwest portion of the island of Öland, Sweden.
The stone ship was an early burial custom in Scandinavia. The grave or cremation burial was surrounded by stones in the shape of a ship. The ships vary in size and were erected from about 1000 BC to 1000 AD. The standing stones of the Viking ship are granite, which moraine materials were pushed here from the mainland by ice age glaciers.
In the background a typical Öland wooden post mill from later centuries and further away by the beach a modern wind turbine.

I have never seen so many Bullfinches as I did on my visit to Sweden, they were everywhere, as common as sparrows !!

On our summer 22 road trip through Sweden we had the great opportunity to see and experience the beauty of the Swedish mountains. This one's a drone shot I took in order to get this wide vista. Love the nature of Scandinavia.
There are few places that don't have access to a lake, Vadstena lies next to Sweden , second largest lake - Lake Vättern , this gives good possibilities for water activities such as swimming and fishing ..
