This image was taken at sunset overlooking the Lyngen Alps, a mountain range in northeastern Troms county in Norway, east of the city of Tromso. The mountain range runs through the municipalities of Lyngen, Balsfjord, and Storfjord and follow the western shore of the Lyngen fjord in a north-south direction.
The mountains dominate the Lyngen Peninsula, which is bordered by the Lyngen fjord to the east, and the Ullsfjorden to the west.

This was such a cool place
A huge dam appeared when we came around the corner, so we drove up and saw this, sigh
This is up at 1000 meter above sea level
A 35 year old but still modern trinket from Oslo airport. Heavy snowstorm, flight delayed - what to do to absorb time? Prowl systematically around each store slowly inspecting the displays - (Don’t do this at Amsterdam’s Schipol or else you might leave with several diamonds and an empty credit card). This little lead glass owl caught my eye to take home.
He’s sat on a bookcase ever since to remind me of deluges of deicing fluid followed by a 150mph plus dash through horizontal snow and up into the sky.
Made at Norway’s Hadeland Glassverk. The works were established in 1762. They created individual designs in the 1920s with an art director and master glassblower. The works continues to make hand-blown objects.
Owl's eyes were lit by two snouted mini LED lamps. A dim blue lamp provided some backlight. For Macro Mondays ‘Bird’. Single shot cropped to horizontal FOV 2.9 inches.
Torches of Norway 🇳🇴

On one of my many mountain hikes this summer, I explored this incredibly beautiful area, which is rightly part of UNESCO's World Heritage list. I have rarely seen such a beautiful and untouched natural landscape.
