Samsung's Android 15-based One UI 7 was marred by delays, but the South Korean tech giant isn't making the same mistakes with One UI 8.
While most of us are still getting used to One UI 7, Samsung is already hard at work with its successor.
For reference, Samsung's Android 16-based One UI 8 made its official stable debut with the recent Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, with beta builds of the same reaching the Galaxy S25 series, S24 series, and last year's foldables. Samsung has confirmed that the "beta program is planned to roll-out to even more devices in the following month," including the Galaxy S23 series, Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5, Tab S10 series, Galaxy A36 5G, and even the Galaxy A35 5G.
Apart from said devices, though, we didn't necessarily have a clear picture of other eligible Samsung devices. That, however, changed earlier today thanks to a SammyFans report.
Samsung reportedly has several One UI 8 beta builds undergoing internal testing, giving us a better idea of just how broad the One UI 8 beta rollout could be.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 series was left out of the One UI 7 mix, so its absence here shouldn't really come as a surprise. Similarly, the South Korean tech giant's S21 series was only ensured for four major Android upgrades, with One UI 7 being the last of the bunch. The S21 FE, on the other hand, shipped with Android 12 out of the box, so it is eligible to receive Android 16-based One UI 8.
Similarly, One UI 8 will be the last major OS update for Samsung's 2022-released Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4, and the same goes for the mid-range Galaxy A33 and A73.
It's not entirely clear if Samsung will expand the One UI 8 beta program to all the above-mentioned devices, or if the update will simply land in stable. Regardless, the fact that Samsung is already testing internal builds for said devices paints a promising picture of a faster rollout!
