Abstract
Regional development and human population growth has changed the natural areas into a target area. Rural areas continue to expand into urban areas and world's population living in cities continues to grow. One issue is the reduction of urban biodiversity, one of which is a bird. Biodiversity loss is estimated in line with the development of urbanization is often difficult to know. This condition requires long-term research and monitoring. Research conducted still constrained by time and costs as well as the minimal number of researchers. To overcome this problem researchers in developed countries utilize trained volunteers (citizen Scientists) which utilizes Web 2.0-based Internet technology to carry out research collaboration. This model is then adopted to be developed within the context of the study of birds in the city of Yogyakarta with the collaboration of researchers from universities and bird lovers club. This study has successfully developed protoytpe citizen science-bas...
