Moreover, based on extensive cave video review & discussion with several divers who know journey, SpaceX engineering is absolutely certain that mini-sub can do entire journey & demonstrate at any time.
So what's next for the Mini Sub?
Good for rescuing vulnerable patients in dangerous environments, particularly if water, toxic gas or dangerous bacteria/viruses present, as patient would remain dry & at std air pressure entire time.
I'd love to see a short documentary on the design, development, fabrication and testing of the Mini Sub. Even though it wasn't used, the fast turnaround was remarkable. Probably some lessons other mfrs could learn.
I’d love to see the promised number of cars, at the promised quality levels. That’d be worth watching.
I'd love to see do nothings sit on their thumbs while Elon Musk straight up handles shit. Oh wait, you got that taken care of.
Hmmm. You just got off your gaming console to type that?
Trooolll lol
It's absurd that Elon Musk (a parent, himself) and his team designing something to potentially save children and a young adult could be a point of contention. Thankfully the capsule wasn't needed; the kids and coach were strong and brave enough to be guided out without it.
The divers themselves requested the capsule in case the floods came early. Luckily they didn't need it, but they were smart to have a backup plan just in case. They also requested a similar design from a local firm, but that one didn't make it beyond prototype $TSLA
Exactly. If one of the children happened to be too sick or weak to dive, there is no way a diver could have drug an unconscious limp body for hours and manuver it thru crevasses with fragile scuba mask on.
Here's link to local company who was initially asked to build the capsule, but were unable to complete in time. Must've been a relief to divers to know that they had Musk's capsule on hand as backup in case Plan A didn't work or floods came early https://twitter.com/Jiradett/status/1016690284619599873 … #tsla
dude. He got them out. Show some respect.
You misunderstood. He's clarifying that the person planning the actual rescue was still keeping the sub in his back pocket as an option, and wanted it available.
I think that tweet was disrespectful regardless... running that man down and diminishing him!
it maybe took more than just science. Like management of people and media and an operation involving hundreds
they didn’t need the sub, it wouldn’t have worked. Lovely offer but not a nice public reply to the rejection
"I think that tweet was disrespectful regardless... running that man down and diminishing him!" - that statement also applies to the news articles dismissing Musk's effort as "not practical" without giving a quote saying so from people making the technical decisions.
it wasn’t practical
I’m sure Elon musk is ok with it. Maybe let it go. The point is, the boys got out, the “former” governor dug deep
