Astraeus or Flystar?
We took our inspiration for our name from Greek mythology; Astraeus was an astrological deity and the Titan-god of the dusk. His original Greek name translates as "dawn of the stars", the time when the stars come out, or simply dusk. As god of the dusk, Astraeus married Eos, goddess of the dawn. When we operate our call-sign for air traffic control purposes is Flystar, chosen for its phonetic simplicity and representation of our original tail logo. As a carrier we like the Titian god like representation of Astraeus Airlines, but for communication purposes we often prefer our call-sign derivative of Flystar, hence our name is Astraeus Airlines but our email communication is through Flystar.
