All plans share the same AI pipeline, the same API surface, and the same output quality. What changes is monthly credits, feature ceilings, and support.
Free — try before you commit
50 credits per month is enough for 5 standard thumbnails. Use it to evaluate output quality on real titles from your channel, blog, or app before switching. No credit card required. Every format and style works. The only limits: watermark on output, and no custom reference sets.
Best for: Testing the API, one-off projects, students, prototypes.
Creator — for solo creators and founders
Watermark removed, all formats and styles unlocked, full API access included. Right size for solo work — a personal YouTube channel publishing 2 to 5 videos per week, a solo blog, or an indie developer embedding ThumbAPI in a small project. Use it visually in Studio (type a title, pick a style, hit generate) or via the API — same credits, same pipeline.
Best for: Solo creators, personal YouTube channels, solo bloggers, indie developers, side projects.
Pro — for automation and high-volume publishing
PopularThe sweet spot on credits-to-output for daily publishing — best per-thumbnail rate at scale, plus a priority queue that keeps batches fast so the time saved compounds. Unlocks the two features that turn ThumbAPI into a repeatable brand system: 2K HD output and Custom Reference Sets — clone your own style at 80 to 100% fidelity. Right for anyone publishing multiple times per day or running automation through n8n, Make, Zapier, or MCP.
Best for: YouTube automation channels, faceless channel operators, high-volume solo creators, indie SaaS running daily blog automation.
Business — for teams and agencies
10,000 credits per month, everything Pro has, plus webhook callbacks, dedicated server, team seats, 99.9% uptime SLA, and a private Slack channel with the ThumbAPI team. Built for teams collaborating on content ops and agencies managing multiple client channels — everyone on the team gets access to the same Studio workspace, saved brand assets, and reference sets.
Best for: Multi-person content teams, agencies with multiple clients, media companies, publishers, high-volume automation.
Credits are a single pool per account. Every generation deducts credits based on quality plus any add-ons enabled.
Example: a 1K YouTube thumbnail with your face and logo composited costs 10 + 2 + 2 = 14 credits. A 2K brand-cloned thumbnail with logo overlay costs 20 + 2 + 2 = 24 credits.
Being explicit about what you do not pay extra for, and what is not (yet) offered:
Every plan is month-to-month. Upgrade anytime and the new credit ceiling applies immediately. Downgrade and the change takes effect at the next billing cycle. Failed generations are refunded automatically, so you never pay for output that did not complete. Cancel any time from the Studio dashboard.
