    Your code is too long, and most of that unrelated to "show \today", you'd better remove them, instead of posting it as a whole. Commented yesterday

    \date{some date I specify so it doesn't change}? Commented yesterday
  • as cfr mentioned, you can directly use \date{10/26/2025} Commented yesterday
  • would the down-voters care to explain how the question can be improved? down-voting beyond -1 is anyway egregious unless a post is spam or abusive. and down-voting w/o commenting is unlikely to motivate improvements. Commented 22 hours ago

    off-topic: \sc and other 2-letter font commands should not be used if your latex is less than 30 years old or so. if you acquired it in the last decade or two, you don't need inputenc for utf8 input. I would not recommend helvet for new documents. there are better options by now. your code can't be compiled by us because only you have the .bib and CONF-IOCFF-2026.jpg. on the other hand, it seems to include a great deal irrelevant to your question (including bibliography config). you certainly can't need mwe. I was not very sure what you mean "manually" in the title, it means by hand? You can typeset it directly.

If you want TeX to auto determine the date, you can make use of \today, by latexdef \today, you get:

latexdef \today

\today:
macro:->\ifcase \month \or January\or February\or March\or April\or May\or June\or July\or August\or September\or October\or November\or December\fi \space \number \day , \number \year

Then it's easy to use macro \month, \year and \day to get what you want.

\documentclass{article}
\date{\today}
\title{My Document}
\author{me}
\begin{document}

\maketitle

Today is \texttt{\today}.

month is \texttt{\the\month}

year is \texttt{\the\year}

day is \texttt{\the\day}

Today is what you want \texttt{\the\month/\the\day/\the\year}

\end{document}

noted that in my region, today is still "2025/10/24"😀

    maybe add \date{} in case 'manually' means 'so it doesn't change'. this is often useful for talks/posters where the date is fixed in advance. Commented yesterday

    There's also an alternative way: using the datetime2 package, and using the config of the mmddyyyy format option. Commented 23 hours ago
  • @myshia you could post another answer😀 Commented 23 hours ago
