Der Wählhebel besitzt einen seitlich quer abstehenden Stift, der in eine Schaltkulisse eingreift und in der Stellung "P" den Wählhebel verrastet. Zum Entrasten desselben aus dieser Stellung ist im Griff des Wählhebels ein Druckknopf vorgesehen. Durch Druck auf den Druckknopf wird der Stift aus der Sperrstellung der Schaltkulisse herausbewegt, so daß der Wählhebel in die anderen Positionen verstellt werden kann. Dies ist jedoch nur dann möglich, wenn der Elektromagnet erregt ist, wenn also die Zündung eingeschaltet ist. Der Wählhebel ist dabei lediglich in Richtung des Kurvenzuges der Schaltkulisse verschwenkbar. Die Verbindung des Wählhebels mit dem Schaltgetriebe erfolgt über ein Gestänge. Bei dieser bekannten Schaltvorrichtung ist also außer einem Bowdenzug zusätzlich ein Elektromagnet erforderlich und es ist eine starre Verbindung zwischen der Schaltvorrichtung und dem automatischen Getriebe vorhanden.Such a switching device is known from DE 3905698 Cl. Außerdem ist die Anordnung an der Lenkradsäule besonders dann von Vorteil, wenn die Lenkradsäule höhenverstellbar und gegebenenfalls auch im Neigungswinkel verstellbar ist oder bei einem Unfall verbogen wird, da die Verstellung wegen der flexiblen Kupplung des Wählhebels mit dem Schaltgetriebe über den Bowdenzug keinen Einfluß auf die Übertragung der Stellkräfte vom Zündschloß zur Betätigungseinrichtung für die Schaltvor¬ richtung hat.
